I booked this hotel with my shy large Mastiff dog for one night due to a young relative staying at my house in Kettering. I didn’t look at the hotel before booking. Just booked due to the largely peaceful location & 5 min drive to the town centre very reasonable price for the room & the £10 extra cleaning charge for dogs is probably the cheapest I’ve seen offered by a hotel. Holiday Inn Bedford rd was exceptional. Every member of staff from the day to the night were amazing. All the guests like myself were in and out during the night due to the heat. Asking for ice. Cooling pets & babies during the night. The 2 staff at night made you feel welcome at all times & all staff seemed genuinely interested and happy to help. This is hard to do all the time & even harder to find a group of people who can all achieve it together simultaneously. 11/10 👌. Lovely bar area & again top level effortless looking service. Lovely Coffee too. Might even go back one day from my home in Kettering & take the dog (who loved it) just for some relaxing time. Best Hotel staff I’ve stayed with. Holiday inn are offering 5 star service with a smile with this team doing the job for them 👍😎

A spa & pool would be nice. But I didn’t miss it due to the lovely walks behind the hotel

the location was very peaceful..the staff friendly and always willing to assist..the room was extremely neat and tidy,we arrived just after 19:00 so once settled in our room we decided to eat at the downstairs restaurant..tbh I was a little concerned regarding the quality of the burgers..I was honestly taking back as the burgers we fantastic presentation spot on,plenty of food..bed time was a dream the bed very comfortable pillows aswell..as for breakfast plenty of options..hot food freshly prepared and tasty..outstanding service from the whole team..we will definitely be staying again and I honestly recommend this place

the fact I wasn't allowed to take the pillows home as they were extremely comfortable..Well maybe next time:)

The friendly and welcoming staff at this hotel were the stand out features of our stay. Everyone was helpful and it was clear they wanted us to feel comfortable and have a pleasant stay, lots of smiles and friendly greetings. The room was clean and comfortable, in fact all the hotel was very clean. Food was good and served promptly, nice and hot. Breakfast very good, lots of choice and cooked fresh. Maybe a short wait if something from the buffet had run out, but better that then lots of tired and dried up food which had been sat on the hot plates for a long time.

Some areas in the restaurant area ready for upgrade, tables in the window booths in particular. Nothing major though. Also bed a little soft and smaller than expected….not quite as comfortable as their rival in purple . 😉

The room was nice and the bed was incredibly soft. We didn’t have breakfast there, but the location has many options around it for car users. A lot of the reviews I read weren’t great, but I was pleasantly surprised and all the staff I spoke to were lovely.

The lock on the door was beyond impossible to figure out. I stayed with my cousin and we’re both young women so staying while the only thing to keep unwanted visitors out was the need for a key and a chain, we were definitely worried about the security. All worked out well in the end, though.

Food was nice ,tea excellent .room very clean only fault no “normal “ bbc itv . If so couldn’t find them . Room service chap 16th night smashing young man . Have family in hotel industry so know what hard work it is , the staff named are a credit and I hope they are recognised as such . Better signage needed at the entrance as holiday inn does not jump out at you on such a busy road . Beds lovely and pillows . Will stay at this location again

The staff were exceptional. So friendly, polite, helpful. They were great with my kids too. They really went above and beyond and I'm so grateful! The room was really comfy and spacious. We actually all had proper beds instead of sofa beds which was bliss! They managed to give us a close room so I didn't have to walk too far (due to a recent operation). We even had biscuits and little chocolates which the kids were very pleased about! And the food in the restaurant was incredible! I had Asian tapas which were sooooo good. The kids had a literal banquet which they devoured. It was really nice!

The only fault I have is that the drains really smelt bad. But that is the only fault from our stay.

Very friendly staff and comfortable, well equipped room.

A fire alarm evacuation during the night was poorly managed. I am a fire officer of over 30 years and have attended many hundreds of similar scenarios. I observed a single fire warden attempting to check the fire panel and manage guests (a number of whom re-entered the premises prior to fire service attendance) whilst other staff members in high-visibility vests stood at the single assembly point. The fire -warden appeared stressed by the situation but did her best under the circumstances. Whilst the majority of guests waited patiently outside for a little over 20 minutes, a number of guests went back inside.

Lovely welcoming staff, especially Anna, who sorted out a room change for me . Spotlessly clean ( thanks to Olga). Comfortable bed, good shower Air con !! The food in the restaurant was good value (3 corses for £22) and the breakfast was excellent. Pet friendly. I loved the complimentary treats and poo bags tied with a bit of green ribbon . All of the staff made a fuss of my dog. Location is easy to get to and perfect for where I need to be the following day ( the university) I've never been in a Holiday Inn before,but I will definitely stay again.

Maybe a slightly lighter weight duvet option, though to be fair, I didn't ask if there was one available.

There is a simple layout to the building and the grounds around the site was lovely. All rooms have irons and iron boards which we found specifically useful as we went for a wedding and had clothes to iron on both days

The window to our room and some other guests that we were with were screwed shut. When we asked about this we were first told that this was because of health the safety but then on noticing other rooms on the same floor with open windows we asked again and we were told that the windows were broken and they had been too expensive to repair. The room also didn’t have a mini fridge which we found frustrating as this doesn’t happen in many hotels so we brought cold drinks and snacks with us that we couldn’t refrigerate.

Very welcoming and helpful team. Good quiet location and ease of parking. Spacious room, quality TV, and shower. Good selection for breakfast.

Damp smell in corridors and room. Shower tray leaked ++ and evidence of previous water damage to walls. Very firm mattress and duvet too small for cover - barely stretched to the size of mattress Regularly stay at a nearby Travelodge, which is normally cheaper, but grabbed a deal at Holiday Inn and would only stay again if a cheap deal comes up.
