Friendly staff, great brekfeast for 9 €, or smaller for 3 €. Nice place, everything clean.
There is no ordinary kitchen. There is a nice place wirh kettle, microwave and fridge. No sink. The dishes are washed by staff in the brekfeast/entry room. No problem, just good to know.

+ conveniently located + safe neighbourhood + nice atmosphere + friendly staff + I stayed 2 nights in a girls' dorm (4 beds) and had really nice and considerate roommates. Our room even had a private balcony (see my 3rd picture). + the room and the bed were comfortable, but:
- the bathroom was so tiny! I measured the shower using my arm's length and estimate it at 40 x 60 cm. Therefore I cannot recommend booking a private bathroom (rather save the money and use the common ones). Hence the deduction of 1 point for comfort and equipment. - No baguette at breakfast or croissants from a boulangerie. The pastries served were industrial prebaked ones. I'd have loved to be offered really good French bakery products even if this would have meant paying a little bit more for the breakfast. Additionally, there was neither cheese nor vegetables available at breakfast. - Every morning there were problems with the WIFI. My electronic devices were connected, but there was no connection to the internet (maybe an overload?)

Cl and comfortable. Patio is very good.
The bathroom in the room is too small. The kitchen doesn't have any things to cook., just have a microwave and an electric kettle.

Staff was very nice, rooms really ok
The common area bathrooms were flooded with water after people had taken showers. But everything was super clean so it was acceptable.

I had an amazing stay at this hostel in Marseille! The location is excellent – right in the heart of the city, close to the Old Port and within walking distance of many attractions, shops, and restaurants. The hostel itself was clean, modern, and had a great atmosphere. The common areas were cozy and perfect for meeting other travelers, and the kitchen was well-equipped for preparing meals. My room was comfortable, with plenty of space and secure storage for my belongings. The staff were incredible – super friendly, helpful, and always available to answer questions or offer recommendations. They truly made me feel welcome and made my stay even better. I also loved the organized events and activities that the hostel offered, which made it easy to explore the city and connect with other guests. Overall, this is one of the best hostel experiences I’ve had! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Marseille, and I can’t wait to return!

I had a comfortable stay at the people hostel. I initially booked a 6 bed shared room, but I was put in a 4 bed shared room (lucky me). I arrived late and the gentleman at the desk was very welcoming. I needed to get water and he accompanied me to a nearby shop and made sure I wasn't bothered. All staff I met at the reception desk were helpful and nice. The place is nice too in case you just want to chill at the hostel. My flight wasn't untill later in the afternoon and I could leave my luggage in lockers to enjoy my last day in Maraseille. Location is great too!!

Nice hostel close to the train station and old port, a metro station is also close. Beautiful terrace where you can sit enjoy the evening or day, at certain days they do some entertaining stuff like drawing classes, standup shows and other. Beds are comfortable and have curtains for privacy. Friendly and helpful staff
There's only 2 bathrooms(male and female) with 2 toilets and 2 shower stalls on the floor with 13 rooms, so it provokes queues from time to time. Also the showers sewage is organised poorly so if you come to the bathroom after 2 people showered, the whole floor of the bathroom outside the stalls is flooded. The kitchen doesn't have a kettle, only a microwave oven, so if you want some tea you have to buy it at the bar

This is the third time I was staying in The People Hostel chain in France. As a solo traveler I often use hostels and it is a habit already to check if The People are represented in my next destination. It is always clean and fresh, the bed is comphy, the linens and the bedding are great. I stayed at the 4 people room and we had our private bathroom, which was a great bonus. The rooms are small, but never feel crowded. I honestly loved the location, it was safe and cozy, the area in the yard is perfect for chilling in the end of the day or having a meal. The old port is about 10 minutes away and the walk is nice and safe. Also, several supermarkets are like 3-5 minutes away, so anything you need is literally minutes away from you.
The shared bathrooms are nice and clean, but as any public bathroom/shower - they are wet. Make sure you have a pair of flip flops, socks would not suffice. Honestly, I do that for any hostel regardless. Walking around on a wet floor after shower in your sneakers is no fun and I always feel bad for the people who have only one pair of nice shoes with them and have to wear those to come to the shower. Also remember that towels are not included in the price, so bring your own or rent one at the reception.

I didn't have breakfast. Location was excellent. The staff were great. I loved the blackout curtains around the bed and thought everything to do with the sleeping arrangements were top notch.
The recreation room in the basement was not at all appealing. It was cold and impersonal and not somewhere I would want to hang out, basically wasted space for guests. The hostel I stayed in in Israel had a similar sized room that they listed as a "music" room so guests would go there and jam. The furniture was not comfortable and the space not welcoming. My bed did not have anywhere to charge my phone.

Good area, center, near the embankment, cafes and bakeries, safe, I returned after midnight, everything was good, clean room, excellent comfortable mattress, excellent quality bed, wide bed, there is a curtain, toilet and shower in the room, no shampoo and body gel, you need to make a deposit for a towel, which is not refundable, but you can buy everything at Monoptix which is very close to the hostel. You can leave your luggage in a cell in the basement, you pay yourself through the terminal, convenient and safe, very friendly staff, delicious breakfast, place to chat and eat inside and outside, everything is very well organized, you do not wash the dishes, the staff does everything
