The location is really nice. Very close to many attractions. Also there are few nice cute cafe in 1 min walking distance. It was super clean as well. Staff were kind and responsive. Also they hold our luggages after check out, I appreciate it. Breakfast was also decent. The room was very clean and included TV and kettle, and slippers (not the case in many hotels). The sound isolation was high level, super good.

The ventilation of the bathroom was not the best. The smell of the N.2 would remain in the toilet for a bit. Hopefully, there was another bathroom that we could use outside of the room in the Hotel, and it was very clean. Also the room that we got was a bit different than the one we saw in the pictures. We were 3 people and in the picture there were 2 double beds, but we got 1 double bed and one single. Not a problem, but I appreciate the correct pictures. I also was not a fan of the pillows, but they were ok.

Very friendly and informative staff, perfect location within walking distance to many sights such as TV tower, Brandenburger Tor, Checkpoint Charlie, Berliner Dom, many museums, the opera etc. Just few train stops from Eastside Gallery or trendy Prenzlauer Berg. Hotel is situated in very cosy, local neighbourhood next to Berlins oldest church and the canals. There is ambience when you walk out the door. Breakfast is worth every cent (15/10 euro adult/child). Many restaurants in the area, mainly with local German dishes. Room was completely newly renovated, spaceous and beds wonderful. There was a safe free of charge in the room. Good curtains that kept light out when sleeping. We were very happy to find out that the hotel had an available parking spot for us in the back yard at 18 euro per night. There was problem with wifi when we arrived but staff went out of their way to fix asap. The rest of the time wifi worked well.

There was a bit of smell from the drain in the bathroom one day but it went away when pouring water in the drain.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional, from the friendly and helpful staff, to the spotlessly clean, well appointed rooms, the above average breakfast and the fabulous location. My trip was due to my son competing in the Special Olympics. My 11 day stay felt more like visiting a big welcoming family. The days when my son wasn't competing, I brought him to my place for a break and the staff made such a big fuss of him, treated him like a superstar. So thoughtful. The quiet calm of the hotel was a haven after the bedlum of attending the games every day. Clean and airy, the entire place felt loved and care for. When I developed a sour knee from all the walking, they couldn't do enough to help me out, extending a welcome to zone friends who visited, offering advice on pharmaceuticals and even providing some strapping. With the U bahn just around the corner, the S bahn, just down the road, and boat trips only 19 mins from the door, getting around is a synch. The days I didn't feel like moving there was plenty to see and do within the block the hotel is situated, bring the gothic quarter, there's a huge variety of bars and restaurants in gorgeous settings, anything from traditional German fare, Italian, Mexican, Indian, Tapas. I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough and if I ever return to Berlin I will book it again without hesitation.

There was nothing I could find to improve upon

Excellent hotel, great location ,quite zone, good breakfast , excellent bathroom and very clean place proximity to public transportation

the only weakness is the poor quality of the pillows available ,the ones we had were really of poor quality: not firm enough

We were there with a group of 12 friends, we had 2x 6 beds apartments (not really apartments, would call them family rooms). The rooms were clean and well equipped. Staff was very friendly and we had no issues at all. Breakfast we did not order, so cannot comment on that. I would definitely go there again for a similar occasion - the location itself is a very strong argument. Neighborhood is calm and centrally located. Bars and restaurants around. Alexanderplatz 3 mins walking.

Check in itself was no problem, what was a bit strange is that you have to provide the hotel with credit card details again manually through email. The form for this is very old and gets sent to you as an image, then I had to print it out and sign it, scan it and return it as an image again. Very weird. If possible, I would circumvent that - maybe just charge the deposit once we're there for the check in? Would be easier.

location was excellent

At night it was very cold and there was no heating in the room. The bathroom also had an occasional smell of sewage.

The hotel is located in the heart of rebuilt old Berlin, on a pedestrian-only quiet street. It is within a walking distance to the 5 museums on the Museum Island, and 10 minutes to the S-Bahn, train and U-Bahn stations at Alexanderplatz for easy transport within the city and to the BER airport, Potsdam and other attractions. Our double room faced a quiet courtyard, and it was very clean. Buffet breakfast was served downstairs in a cozy restaurant. Several good restaurants nearby.

The room description included a refrigerator. There is no refrigerator, only a mini bar, filled with snacks and bottles that does not allow to squeeze in anything larger.

Nikolai Residence is in a perfect location, a short walk to Alexander Platz (i.e. U-bahn, S-bahn and all other forms of public transportation), short walk to Museum Island, etc. The hotel is cozy and quaint, and the staff are so kind and incredibly helpful and quick to respond to anything from room needs to questions about touring Berlin. The hotel is centrally located yet surrounded by lovely little walkways with restaurants and quaint shops. It’s actually quiet in spite of its central location. We came from the U.S., new to Berlin, visiting for 3 days, and we will DEFINITELY come back to this wonderful hotel. We had a car as well, and while hotel parking spots are limited, we were able to park right on the property. We are a family of 5, and had a room with a nice big shower, and 3 single beds and one double, and it was very spacious. Also, the breakfast we perfect and worth the price. The pillows and bedding were so comfortable! I highly recommend this place!

We liked everything!

This is a lovely hotel in a very nice quiet location, with bars and restaurants nearby, but also very close to Alexanderplatz, with excellent transport links etc. I would describe the hotel as "Modern Boutique". It was exceptionally clean and the staff were helpful. friendly and spoke good English! The breakfast was buffet style, but very good quality and regularly replenished. There was some hot food such as scrambled and boiled eggs. There is a restaurant at the hotel, with a nice looking menu, but we didn't have time to try it.

Nothing at all to dislike.

Fantastic place! Perfect location, 5 minutes walk from metro, bus or tram, plenty of eateries around. Hotel is located in the heart of Nikolaiviertel , right by the River Spree, within walkable distance to plenty of major city attractions. Family owned and run hotel has the most welcoming and professional, friendly and helpful staff. Modern and spacious rooms and bathrooms, with possibility to arrange early / late check ins or check outs. Generous choice of breakfast items at very reasonable price. Will definitely come back!
