It was close to everything. It was very clean and everything in the room felt so . . . "sturdy" and well built.

We tried to turn on the cooling system at night (which was done through the TV.) The monitor said our change had been registered successfully, but it did not work at all. Luckily we were able to crack the window open.

The hotel was located in a very central location at Potsdamer Platz, with convenient access to the U-Bahn and S-Bahn lines, as well as bus services. The Brandenburg gate was only a 15 min walk away and there is much to see and take in during that walk. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. All of the staff spoke English to an excellent standard which really made us feel at ease as we did not have to worry about a language barrier. The hotel room was spacious and comfortable and had good facilities, including a shower unit, a fridge, iron and ironing board, kettle, drying line and hairdryer. I think that our room could have been a bit cleaner upon arrival, which is the only reason I am not giving my review a 9 or 10/10. The city of Berlin is fantastic and I would stay here again. There was nothing we didn’t like about the hotel.

- Room was beautiful and clean - Nice views from outside - Minibar and air conditioning worked

- The bar and parking were beyond expensive. We were shocked when paying for 1 beer and drink and 4 days of parking after our stay. - It is weird that there is no room cleaning but magically drinks and appetizers appeared on our room. So clearly people entered our room when we were not there despite not even doing room cleaning. Would have appreciated for staff to let us know so we could make sure to take more care of our personal items when we were not in the hotel.

Excellent location. Next door to the Mendelssohn underground station or very short walking distance to Potsdamer Platz station. The Playce shopping centre is across the road, handy for cafes and the supermarket. Brilliant to have a kettle and fridge in the room. Room had plenty of space and was cleaned when we requested and comfortable. Handy to be able to leave suitcases on final day.

Didn’t like it that when booking with Booking.com, we were led to believe we had breakfast included, which it didn’t!!!! Were not willing to pay 22 euros each for breakfast each day. There wasn’t a comfortable public space just to sit in the evenings, unless you went to the bar. The bathroom door was a giant sliding mirror which slid open when closed. No pictures or decoration on the plain walls.

I liked the overwhelming choice at the huge breakfast buffet. A bit pricey, but the value is good. Also has a section with gluten-free and vegan food and drink. Room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Equipped with a water heater and a fridge. The hotel has a well-equipped gym. I didn't use it, but it was appreciated nonetheless. Staff were very friendly and likable.

The view was nothing to write home about, but I didn't mind since I didn't spend too much time in the room anyway. One point of concern at my departure: the receptionist wasn't there at first and she took a long while to check me out. It made me worry about coming too late to the airport (but it was fine in the end).

Lovely family friendly hotel. Rooms were modern, well maintained and clean. Great location.

We had a very long wait at reception to check in. It's a big, city based hotel with a lot of movement of people soni gusee that's inevitable, but more staff or self check-in would have been better. The rooms are quite hot, as are the corridors, especially on the upper floors. I asked why there was no AC, and the reply was that it is an eco hotel and AC uses too much energy. I get that, and apparently, it's a fairly common complaint. Shame there were no fans....

A not too fancy (i. e. Scandinavian) hotel in a fairly good location very close to Potsdamer Platz in a quiet area. There is little to talk about, but the breakfast was quite good.

They have charged €15 for early check-in. Although I've got an extra service that I wasn't entitled to, and in fact I stayed more than what I booked, I have never ever had to pay such a fee in any other hotel if the room was already available. I'm not sure if this is good business practice. You have to arrive early for breakfast as the restaurant, while quite big, is not big enough for this many guests and is a bit understaffed.

The hotel was very family-friendly. A baby cot was available, and there was a playing corner for kids. In addition, breakfast was amazing. There were a quite wide variety of selections of food. The location was good, too. It is a few minutes walk from the nearest station along a relatively quite street.

The view from the room was not so great due to a relatively old apartment building blocking the view. But, it is probably difficult to have such a nice view in the first place in such a big city as Berlin. So, I would say, it was not so bad for a big city. The sun rise was beautiful.

Breakfast was amazing, a huge choice and selection. The location was perfect for us, and I always had a cab in front of the hotel. They have a parking space but it's quite expensive Bed was comfy, and the room had all accessories needed, even an iron and iron board. We also loved checkout at 12

The bathroom was a little old, but for the price, i was expecting something a little nicer. the door couldn't close completely as it was a sliding door on the "outside" of the wall. The gap in the bathroom door left not enough privacy for my taste. The parking was also quite expensive, and there were no free public spaces outside, the once that were there were even more expensive than the garage.

Location was excellent, quite central in Berlin and only a few metres from Bartholdy Mendelssohn underground station with great transport links across & beyond the city. The hotel itself is lovely. Staff are SO helpful, kind and efficient. Room was beautiful, with excellent bath/shower room, useful fridge, air con and large picture door opening out onto attractive street view - great for ventilation during the hot summer. Loved the fridge, hairdryer, iron & ironing board in room. Great to be able to drop off luggage earlier than Check-in time, and enjoy the city luggage-less. And the same on departure where they can store your luggage for a few hours while you make the most of your final day in Berlin - so useful. Very Very highly recommend Berlin Scanic Potsdamer Platz- we would DEFINITELY stay here again if we visit Berlin again, and would seek out other "Scandic" hotels elsewhere on our travels.

Negatives: Floor in room could have been cleaner, a larger bin would be an advantage, and more toilet rolls in the bathroom would be helpful. Although you could ask for more supplies, we thought that 3 teabags & 2 sticks of coffee for 3 people on arrival was rather inadequate.
