The spa facilities are absolutely fantastic value for what we paid for this trip. I used the spa every day but one of our stay and it was never overly full. As per other reviews this spa is textile free which is not something that british people are used to but this place has now ruined UK spas for me! I need to find textile free spas in UK as the experience is so much better. The staff were nice and helpful and the room was great. Comfy bed, quiet rooms. Location is a bit away from the city centre but this is a spa hotel so a bit further out allows space for the lovely grounds that the spa and sports facilities were in. We walked to the centre of Hamburg in around 30 mins which is fine for us but the Mundsburg U Bahn is only a ten minute walk away and there is a bus stop right outside. The surrounding area itself is nice and there are interesting shops and some very friendly pubs. We kept calling it the "Didsbury of Hamburg" for any readers who know Manchester!!

Modern hotel with a sport center (open to non-guests), therefore great equipment from tennis courts to swimming pool, spa, restaurant, etc. Large modern rooms with all the facilities (kettle, minibar, safe, ironing board, hair dryer, etc). We choose this hotel for the spa center and we were not disappointed : two outdoor pools, one indoor (closed for repairs, but the other equipments made for the compensation), steam bath, 6 saunas, quiet room, large garden with transats for resting,. All fantastic. Note that the spa, like most of the times in Germany, is textile-free). Parking facility underground in the hotel. Bus stop direct to the city center is in front of the hotel, 20 min drive by bus or car. Tube station (to go to Reeperbahn street for instance) is 10 min walk, then 8 stops. The area is nery bourgeois, some ok restaurants nearby, the lake is 2 minutes away, nice stroll, including walking up to the city center (25 min walk). All perfect

20€ per night for the parking, I thought this was not justified, considering the space available and the price of the rooms. For the rest, all perfect. Would love to come back.

The location near bus and train routes made it very easy to travel around Hamburg. Room was extremely spacious comfortable and the facilities - which were free to use - brilliant. Despite our limited German, the staff were very helpful and supportive with our stay.

We did feel the breakfast was a little costly for what was provided; however, we did enjoy our meal.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The facilities were great, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, the spa and the room had everything we needed. It is easy to get into the City Centre, the train is a 10 minute walk but it is also possible to walk into the city by the lake which was amazing (Approx 45 minutes).

A fire alarm went off during our visit and we evacuated through the fire exit out the back. We had to jump over a gate/fence to get out of the grounds. It turned out to be a false alarm but could have been stressful for someone who was unable to climb.

Room was a great size - bathroom also reasonable. Good aircon/heating - and ability to open windows a huge plus. The location is a fresh walk into the centre of town - but the local area also has much to offer. I would recommend dining locally when possible - some fantastic family-run places.

Car parking is expensive at €20 per day. Also the Spa is a NAKED spa - no swimming costumes allowed. This is very normal for Germany, but for most other nations, is not a comfortable arrangement.

Beautiful spa facilities, super helpful reception staff, and a pleasant location in an affluent Hamburg neighbourhood.

I would have appreciated a mini-bar in my room, and also the bathroom in my room was somewhat basic. For the standard of the place (and it really is beautiful) I would expect slightly more. Also, the hotel breakfast is very basic. I only sampled it on the first day and made other plans for the rest of my stay.

We returned to Aspria Uhlenhorst because we loved the fact that this hotel is attached to a first rate gym/spa/sports center in a very nice neighborhood near the center and the Alster lake. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. There is a soccer/hockey field in front of the building, on top of the garage, and there are also four tennis courts, four pools and a bunch of beach volleyball fields. The upscale area Uhlenhorst/Winterhude offers dozens of diverse restaurants and many interesting shops in walking distance. The center is about ten minutes by bike or car.

Aspria used to have rental bikes and it would be nice if they could start doing that again.

Clean and in quite good condition

Kids are not allowed to enter spa area. Only certain hours two times a week. I didn’t know it when I booked hotel. No drinks in spa area. I really miss a glass of cold hells after steam sauna.

The location is very nice. Close to the lake and nature but also close to the center by bus. The bus comes quite frequently, and buying tickets and day passes with the HVV phone app was very easy. The room was nice and in good condition. I missed though some extra power plugs close to the bed so that I can charge my devices. I had to unplug the light to charge my phone. The pools were very nice. I was impressed to see that the outdoor pool was with warm water (as warm as the indoor pool). So I could swim outdoors even if the outside temperature was only 10 degrees celsius. I am not sure if they warm up the outdoors pool every day. The breakfast was fine. It included all the usual things you can expect from a hotel breakfast. I could make my own sandwiches with many different ingredients and I enjoyed the croissants and the pancakes. The stuff was very helpfull and everybody I talked to was speaking English very well. Also many of the people I've met on the street/restaurants/shops were pretty good at English to the point that I didn't even ask them if they if they speak English any more. I would just start speaking in English and they would reply in English.

The covid restrictions were a bit annoying. I had to wear the FFP2 mask all the indoor places and the public transportation. When I've came I put my usual medical mask but I was told that I need to get the FFP2 mask. Luckily I was allowed to make the check in and go to my room with the medical mask. It would have been nice if the reception would have had a stock of these FFP2 masks so that they could sell them to customers. Instead I was pointed to a supermarked outside of the hotel, which didn't actually have the masks and then I had to walk another half a kilometer until I reached the next supermarked which finally had the masks.

Fabulous hotel in a quiet neighbourhood just outside the city centre. Excellent facilities and brilliant public transport links into city and beyond. Would highly recommend.
