Depending on the room you are asigned, it will be like a little laberynth to get to your room, but it is signposted for you not to get lost. The bathroom was spacious and very clean, the shower has no door so be careful you may get the floor wet. The hostel gives you bed linen and towel for free, that is what I liked the most. The breakfast cost 11€ and it is very complete. The hostel is conveniently located almost in front of the MarsStrasse Tram stop.

The beds just have USB-plug, and I needed a normal one. It would be better if every bunk bed had its own normal plug, not just USB.

Location is excellent, pretty close to the centre, you can either walk or take public transport, the tram stop is just outside the hotel. The hotel is cleaned daily, and we had towels in the room, even though it said it is charged additionally. The hotel was full of mostly young people, but there was no problem with the noise or anything like that. The heating in the room didn't work properly the first night, but the problem was solved the next day. Check in and check out extremely easy and quick.

The wifi signal is not so good. They left our room open after cleaning one day, they probably didn't notice that it stayed open since the door is pretty heavy.

I was in a 6 bed dorm and the layout of the space, and the furnishings, were outstanding! There is a door (which needs a little adjusting as it sticks) between beds and entry/bathroom which really helps to block noise, a coat stand, privacy screens at the head of each bed with hooks for coats, etc, lockers as well as under-bed storage AND another space where you can sit and chill, but extra luggage can also be stashed there. On top of that, there's a little seating area by the window with a table and 2 chairs and the beds are solid and really well designed with lots of storage and great lights that don't blind everyone else if you choose to read a little later. The mattress was very comfortable, and they had European pillows (which I love) instead of those super-long ones (that seem quite pointless). The lobby was also attractive and had a seating area with charging ports

I'm hoping that this is simply an area that they haven't yet had time to revamp but the kitchen is abysmal. I deliberately look for places with a kitchen, and although this had a fridge, microwave and 2 burner cooktop, that's literally all it had. No prep space, nor pot, pans, plates, utensils or cutlery (let alone storage space for any dry goods, or communal necessities like tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, cooking oil, (and milk is always helpful!). I hope they do this soon as, based on the dorm, I would love to come back

I really liked that the staff allowed me to store my laptop for free at the reception. It was really cool and helpful. And also, they allowed me to store my luggage in the luggage room after my checkout and before my train. It was amazing, thank you so much. The air quality in the room was good. We were 6 girls in one room. The bed was rather spacious and comfy, I'm quite happy with it. It was nice to sleep there.

The planning of the building is sometimes not easy to understand. Feels like too much walking here and there, up and down, along the corridors. My suitcase (of medium size) didn't fit into the locker under my bed, so I had to repack everything and bring it to the luggage room, which of course is of additional time and hassle. Sadly, the small light near my bed didn't work, and the plug was only quite far from the bed. So we had to use the same plugs to charge something.

The renovations are really, REALLY making a difference! I stayed in room 424, and I was delighted with the cleanliness of the room, the bathroom as well as the high quality of the linens used throughout my stay. The staff were excellent. Everyone was helpful, and it was clear that they enjoyed their job! The renovations have also produced my new favorite place to relax and hang out: Skybar! It's on the fifth floor and accessible using the north elevator. There is a beautiful view of the city, and there's even a view of the Alps when looking south! The renovation has made an enormous difference already, and it's not yet complete. The new computerized login system looks very promising, and the updates to the lobby are appreciated. Great job. I've stayed here many times, and I'm happy to (for the first time) give it 5 stars. Congratulations!

There is not much to write here. All of my earlier criticisms have been addressed.

The rooms were kept very clean and there was a lot of space to store luggage (you do need your own locks or go ask them at the reception). The hostel is right next to a tram stop so you're in the city centre pretty quickly.

There were no sockets at your bed and there were only 3 working sockets in total for a room of 8 people. The kitchen is also not very well equipped. If you want to cook you have to go ask the reception for a pot or pan.

The room was definitely modernized and this is an enormous improvement over the past. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were clean and fresh. I am pleased with the remodel, and I have stayed here multiple times during the renovation. I am happy to report that it was well worth the time and money expended. It is a very nice place now!

Some of the connections, such as the USB ports were non-functional. This might be a simple oversight, but this was something that was noticeable.

Although I accidently booked one month later than I wanted, they found me a free bed. Also got a spoon when I needed one, no fees for that either :D

At first they didn't notice that I had made a booking mistake, so I got a key card for a room full of high school girls, who were as surprised as myself... So on their behalf I have to complain, even though I am grateful that my own booking mistake was resolved after we noticed, and I got a vacant bed in a men's room.

Tbh what wasn’t there to like! Staff attentive. Sky bar and communal areas were decent- and encouraged lots of socialising which isa plus when travelling solo. Good location - easy to commute around via public transport directly outside the hostel

Only thing I can maybe think of was the one lift did take ages to come as had to service several floors - but this was during peak season of Oktoberfest.
