February 2022

We arrived on a windy Saturday and the cold weather brought us happily to the hostel. We found a nice and warm place. We have to recognise that the wooden decorations helped us feel at home. Some skin and deer heads were part of this hunter's shelter. The receptionist welcomed us very kindly with this typical German accent. And that's when we started feeling those true Bavarian vibes. After receiving this nice white magnetic card (no issues with any door in the hostel, we tried to open them all!) we penetrated the colourful corridors. The doors are thick, showing the safety of the hostel. We assessed the room, and we have to recognise my astonishment. The room was clean and bright, just like the Italian sun during a morning of November. After a good installation, we went out to visit the city. What a fabulous surprise I had! The city can offer you anything you want. As a gastronomic expert, I'd like to recommend "Vulkan Kebab". After this delightful meal, we got back to the magnificent hunter's shelter. After climbing a five-stick ladder. Then I laid down on this 200x90-cm fluffy soft mattress comparable to an Eastern cumuluninbis cloud. The gods were with me. However, I had to quit this divine world because of some noise coming from the loo. I wondered whether that sound was made by an animal (the one that is commonly known as "rat" by English speakers) playing with the toilet paper roll. To my surprise that creature was actually a roommate. I can't reproach this to the staff they can't select the guests according to their night activities. All in all I had a nice stay.

The reception is really nice, and it was easy to check-in and check-out. The room was relatively clean, the bed was comfortable, there were outlets, and the bathroom was large. The location was good, being able to go to all the tourist spots you wanted on foot.

It is an inn frequented by a very young public. When I got to my room there was a horrible smell of alcohol! If they lit a match there, surely everything would catch fire. The furniture in my room was very old and worn, they didn't look much like the ones in the photos in the ad. Although there are lockers, they don't have locks, so you'll need to bring your own padlock.

Good location, nice staff and rooms. Unfortunately I had a bad experience, it was Oktoberfests and during the night that I arrived a guy throw up on the floor in the bathroom. When staff came to check nobody said who did it, so they explained someone has to clean or pay the fee, if the person doesn’t appear everyone has to pay the fee, someone in the room had the brilliant idea to say it was me because I arrived late the night, but from my flight and I did my checking late in reception with backpacks and everything. So I went there talked with them and said with who I did the checking for they ask if I was drunk. They believed and were very friendly and supportive with me. So even after this problem with the disgusting people who shared the room with me, staff were great and made me feel comfortable.

We travelled with two teen kids and had a quadruple private family room. This was the only hostel we stayed in during our five week tour of Europe but pricing in Munich during Oktoberfest is just crazy. While basic, our room had everything we needed for a short stay including our own bathroom. It was immaculately clean and exceeded our expectations. The hostel is centrally located just a few streets from the main train station and was an easy walk to Oktoberfest as well as many of the tour meeting points. Staff were fabulous, friendly and had lots of suggestions for a pleasant stay. Cheap beers downstairs too :) Don't forget to take your own towels and, if you want to access the luggage storage bring your own padlocks too.

The lift is ridiculously slow.

Being right next to the Hauptbahnhof helps a lot for travelling anywhere, plus the beers and drinks at the bar are decently cheap by Munich standards. Helps to have a drink here before heading out elsewhere. Beds were comfortable too by hostel standards, and each room having its' own bathroom was quite the plus. Also its' adjacent to two other hostels, so it's definitely possible to meet people between these hostels.

Honestly, the breakfast is too expensive, even if its' a buffet. Best to just pop over to a bakery down the road or in the train station like i did. Also this isn't the easiest place to socialise (at least for me), though that's just personal taste I think.

The fact that the facility is very close to the city center eliminated the loss of time during the trip. In addition, the breakfast was cheap and just as good. I would definitely recommend those who are on their way to stay with such features.

I stayed in a room with 10 beds. Your sleep can be disturbed by involuntary noises during sleeping and waking up. If the hotel changes the 10-bed application to a maximum of 8 beds in each room, it will be more comfortable with less noise in the rooms and clean oxygen. I was going to have eggs for breakfast but the same lid was covering the eggs and pork sausage/salami. Therefore, their vapors were mixing with each other. Since I am a Muslim, I cannot eat pork, and I could not eat eggs because the smell and vapors of pork were constantly on the eggs. A more careful look at this issue will make your hotel more preferable for people of different religions.

Location to the train station was great, also a 15 minute walk to the centre and Oktoberfest. Separate toilet with sink and shower with sink was great. Shower had good pressure and heat. Hostel didn’t feel antisocial but wasn’t overly social feeling in my opinion.

Lockers were quite small (bit bigger than a letterbox), but at least in the room I was in there were more lockers then beds so if you had a lot you could use an extra one. The room was quite small so if your luggage didn’t fit under a bed it was going to be in the way. Lots of people staying had issues with keycards not working, one of my roommates just wouldn’t work even after multiple attempts. The type of bunks that they are with bars meant I sent my phone flying out from the top bunk one night. They could probably benefit from a shelf by each bed. One night it sounded like they started karaoke at midnight based on the … beautiful rendition of Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack” and other songs that followed from the bar above the room.

Clean 6 bed dorm. 5 minute walking distance to the central station making it easy for day trips as well as taking the underground train to different parts of the city. The weather was much cooler this week because most days were raining. I did not notice AC being used. Room was facing inwards facing other hostels but was quiet and I was not disturbed when sleeping. Wifi was good. There were powerpoint by every bed.

It would have been nice for the bathroom to be supplied with a new or dry floor mat. There is seating area in the foyer but was dark as they use dimmer lights. There is 1 laundry for wash and dry and it worked well. I had bed bugs. I had bite marks that were itchy and thought they were mosquito bites but there was several cluster of bites along my leg, arms and face. I didn't realise they were actually bed bugs until the last day after I had left the hostel (as I have never experienced this before) so I did not have a chance to notify reception.

The style of a hunting lodge was different - a nice touch. Good central location opposite Hauptbahnhof and just 10-15 minutes walk from Marienplatz central square! Great affordable price too and rooms were perfectly acceptable in terms of comfort etc.

Perhaps in the winter a thicker duvet but I got on alright without. A public water fountain or similar would be good so we don’t need to ask the staff each time to fill water bottles behind the bar, otherwise no real issue at all.

The hostel’s location is super close to main train station and the restaurants, pubs and cafes. Moreover, employees are incredibly caring about the guests. Beds and bathrooms are really clean. Bonus: I’d like to give a shout-out to Adrian who really cared about the problems that we had encountered with some inconvenient problems in the room. Plus, he has super power to remember all the names of the guests!! Thanks Adrian for making our trip awesome!!
