Andre, the Reception staff was hospitable, very helpful and friendly. Unlike the Reception staff at Plaka Hotel, where I stayed for 2 nights prior to my stay at Hermes. Andre was patient with me and booked a dinner reservation for me. Unlike the reception older man at Plaka, who was rather impatient with me. He didn't want me asking him questions about dining, etc. I wish I had stayed the prior two nights at Hermes, which was newer, more modern and had friendly staff. I also like that every morning a staff came to us at breakfast to see what they can help us with. This makes Hermes hotel the best in Athens!

Great location, very close to acropolis and city central and Syntagma👍. Most staff are very welcoming and kind. Especially young women and young man receptionists. Breakfast was fine. 24 hour open reception was also helpful when we check out at 4 am. Air conditioner was well working.

Well… although I satisfied most of their service, there are some things I want to mention. 1. Old man receptionist was not kind at all. Maybe check in robot would be better than him.. 2. Sounds from outside was not perfectly covered by window and door. If you are sensitive person during the sleeping, it can make you nervous😉. 3. The small blooking wall on bath are not working properly. After taking shower, the outside floor besides bath was always flooded.

Super clean room and bathroom, wifi worked perfectly all the time and we were in the 4th floor. Room was perfect, plenty of room to keep clothes and luggage, there was a fridge and A/C, plenty of hot water day and night. Location was amazing, few minutes walking to all the main sites. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of options, the lovely lady Eva was welcoming to people to the breakfast room every morning, she was very helpful and kind, the staff in this hotel is very friendly and professional. Jusr next to the reception there is a big sitting room with free coffee, tea and biscuits and also many books to read and relax, there is a private parking at the front of the hotel, handy if you are renting a car. There is a great roofbar just 4 mins walking is in The Plaka Hotel. We loved everything in Hermes Hotel

Everything was perfect

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Hermes Hotel for three days, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. The hotel's location is fantastic, with easy access to all of Athens' main attractions. We found ourselves passing by the hotel's street countless times during our walks around the city. The hotel provided us with all of the comforts we were expecting, and the reception staff, including hard-working ladies Margarita and Eleni, were always ready to assist us. However, it was Eva who truly stood out for us, as she went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and hassle-free. Sorry, I also have to mention two gentlemen which I don't remember the names. The housekeeping staff kept our room spotless and tidy throughout our stay. The breakfast was much better than I was expecting. (OK. The rooms if Hermes does not have the Acropolis view. I clearly understand if we had that panoramic view we couldn't effort to stay.) In summary, we highly recommend Hermes Hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and centrally located place to stay in Athens.

great location in the middle of everything in walking distance, and cleanliness, staff were friendly and helpful

the water leaks through the shower/ bath glass, and you have to soak up the water off the floor. The fridge don’t work properly, in the heat of the summers day you want to access a cold drink from your fridge but can’t. we were told those fridges only keep things at a slight coolness ( they do t even do that) to bring our drinks down to the reception area. but that’s not convenient if we have to go up and down to get a glass of water etc. we were lucky enough in one room where the fridge worked as it’s supposed to.

Really good location, easy walk to the Acropolis, Syntagma Square and a host of local eateries on the door step so no shortage of food options. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was good. Room was on the smaller side but adequate. Hotel and room were clean and comfortable. Good size lounge area downstairs behind reception with free coffee/tea. Nice rooftop area with views (strangely no-one mentioned this on check-in but nice place to relax). Good wi-fi. Good value for money, would happily stay again.

Walls were a bit thin, didn't impact us in terms of sleeping etc. (as neighbouring rooms were quiet at night) but definitely something we noticed on occasions when guests returned during the day.

Nice breakfast with many variation, both on the healthy and on the unhealthy side. Helpful personale. Complimentary coffee in the lobby. Nice roof terrace, perfect location to drink an afternoon coffee. Stuff was helpful, when I had challenges with my credit cards. We got breakfast early because of the marathon. High 5 for that!

Coffee wasn´t the best though in the breakfast. Shower was badly constructed, so the water was running out all the time, so we were standing constantly in the water. Our room had an awful view, but I did not pay for a spectacular view neither, so I guess it was fair.

The best part of this hotel must be it's location as it manages to be so close to all the must-see places, yet tucked away on a more quiet street. The beds are very comfy and the balcony was just so nice. The hotel breakfast had so much variety to omnivores but if you're vegan, you get bread and fruit (which isn't that bad but could be better). Staff was very friendly. I could see staying in here again if I was to return to Athens.

For those light of sleep I do have to warn the walls can be thin and there's also a church bell that chimes the time every hour of the day. But take your ear plugs and you won't regret you stayed in here.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the lounge area had useful guide books that I could browse (as well as free coffee/biscuits. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate with good coffee, yoghurts and juicy apples (cooked breakfast not quite up to 'Irish breakfast' standards but hey...). Location superb with lots of good restaurants within 200m of the hotel, also wine bars/japanese pub/grill.

The room temperature was a little cool, no view. No loos in the reception area. Some people complained about the tiny slow lift but if you stay on the first floor & can use the stairs it isn't an issue. Would not be a good choice if you have a car.

The hotel provides a high standard of accommodation in a great location in Athens, close to major attractions and many restaurants in nearby Plaka. Excellent breakfast and (with one exception) friendly, helpful staff. Our two rooms had an additional shared entrance door which was nice.

Minor complaint - The elderly gentleman who checked us in was a grump. Travelling can be tiring and a decent greeting on arrival is always appreciated. Other staff members were great though.
