Checked in early--not a problem. Room was ready--very clean. good restaurants on site. Plenty of friendly staff to answer questions. Easy shuttle ride to airport.

Located in a part of town that is not desirable to walk (especially at night). Also, it is in the flight path of the airport.

The property is beautiful, luxurious and clean. The location is walking distance to a variety of restaurants- McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut, Gianni’s Italian, and a steakhouse. The zoo is also up the street. The duplex suite is a must! It’s basically the penthouse suite of the hotel and has access to the Premier Lounge where breakfast, lunch, and dinner finger foods are served, plus alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages. The room was equipped with 2 tv’s- one upstairs and one downstairs, 2 bathrooms, a spiral staircase, and beautiful views of the mountains/volcanoes. I only wish I had spent more time here but I will definitely be back!

Everything was perfect

The room was spacious with great amenities. The free airport shuttle provided convenience.

The room could have been cleaner (hair from previous guests in the sink). The staff could have been more welcoming and knowledgeable of the place amenities (e.g. we were told that one of their restaurants is open and when we got there, it was actually closed). Finally, given that the hotel knew that we were arriving in the morning, their reservation system should have given us the option of checking in in the morning. Well, that is what I would expect from a five-star hotel.

The building is way more than a mere hotel, it's a full complex with lots of facilities : pool, sauna, restaurants, bars, business center, etc. It's located at a few minutes from the airport what is really nice for transportation purposes (shuttle included by the hotel !). The buffet breakfast is impressive with its various food options along with inside and outside tables. Housekeeping staff is really kind and professional : a wonderful stay experience ! Really hard to check-out :)....

Very fancy hotel but affordable if there are many of you staying! We got a free upgrade to a suite with two levels, two bathrooms, a sofa bed, and their super bomb buffet breakfast (make sure you’re hungry). Nice pool and hot tub, two gyms, and a sauna (not as hot as Tikal). They also let us leave our luggage there for free since we were staying there before and after our one night Tikal trip, so we didn’t have to pay for luggage on our avianca flight to Flores! A guy from my lake atitlan collectivo got out and even took a picture of it so I definitely felt very fancy being there. Would definitely stay again!

The beds were comfortable, the room was clean and the location was perfect. We just needed an overnight rest before catching an early flight back to the U.S. The staff was generally helpful, although when they say room check-in is at 3 p.m., they aren't joking around. But we killed time in the sports bar (which is definitely made for people with much shorter legs than we have.)

The property touts itself as being near the airport, but don't count on being able to take a free shuttle unless you book way in advance. We asked for 7 a.m. transportation and they said the only shuttle opening was at 5 a.m. Fortunately, an Uber to the airport is fairly inexpensive. Also, the room we were in was extraordinarily noise, it sounded like a hurricane was raging outside even though the skies were clear. Fortunately, one of us could take out his hearing aids and I was so tired from hiking volcanoes that I managed to sleep despite the noise.

Excellent room, cleanliness, food and restaurant service.

Long multiple hour wait for room availability. Eventually brought forward from 15:00pm to 13:30pm with the option that I did not exercise of paying a considerable additional fee.if I had known that they had empty rooms but would not give them out for an 11.00am arrival I would have chosen another hotel in the area instead. There was no assistance for getting a taxi to the airport from the hotel either at reception or at the door. Thirdly the courtesy minibus goes to the airport hourly. Every half hour would be more convenient

The staff are always very friendly,polite and helpful. The pool and environment is quiet and relaxing. Shower pressure fantastic! The location is perfect and airport shuttle a plus.

This visit I felt sorry for the staff; there were large tour groups and at breakfast the waiting staff really struggled to provide their usual highly efficient friendly service. More staff needed! Plus they ran out of bacon! Cutbacks also meant only enough coffee making facilities for 1 in the room...paper cups too😬 The minibar is empty but they could make it that you could turn the refrigerator on if you wished.

The buffet breakfast and wait staff were excellent. My husband and I enjoyed our very comfortable, clean, and well-appointed room. The mattress was so comfortable it lulled you to sleep. We stayed on the ninth floor and paid for access to the premium room. The premium room staff, food, spirits, and atmosphere were excellent. The front desk security and other staff were very customer-friendly and informative. We will definitely stay at a Barcelo property in the future.

I can't think of anything we didn't like during our stay.

Beautifully decorated lobby for Christmas, well staffed, comfortable beds and pillows. Bathroom was well equipped and clean. Great morning buffet breakfast, has an ATM, and a little boutique to pickup anything you need and last minute souvenirs for not bad prices but of good quality. Great room service and in a timely manner. Provided us a transfer to Antigua for the going rate and on time, when it was hard to find a transfer due to holidays.

The frame of the sliding door frame was broken, didn't close in two rooms we stayed, kinda concerning but was on the higher floors, so felt safe. Hours of Lobby bar, local pub and 24 hour room service menu was a bit confusing, for the New Years Eve, could have been clearer and the accuracy to what is Quetzal or US dollars for menu items, it wasn't as straight forward, and the conversion from front desk to restaurant were different. Also, the pickup fee transfer from nearby airport to Hotel, OUTRAGEOUS for Christmas Eve, when usually FREE on normal operating hours, almost the same price to have a personal driver to Antigue (1 hour drive). Could be a little more polished and organized on communication for a Spanish Hotel chain, NOT a nightmare, but can see where misunderstandings can occur.
