OK loved the hotel, rooms amazing. Staff were brilliant. The Atmosphere was fantastic. The vallet men were a particular bonus for the hotel. Very helpful and nice.

OK the Irish fry for breakfast was honestly the worst I've ever had in a 5star hotel. I've had better frys in the airport and it wasn't up to standard or worth a fraction of the price. They also charged my card for a hotel candle that I didn't use. 25euro. But they refunded us after I contacted them .

Old school hospitality which was a welcomed surprise. The hotel team are over the top friendly and helpful. Helping with every detail. Major kudos to the staff. The hotel is old school which was charming, great products in the bathroom, turndown service, invoice under the door in printed envelope - a lot of hotels don't offer this type of service any longer so that was a nice surprise.

The room felt really dated, for the price paid it didn't feel worth the money. The carpet felt old, chair in the room needed to be replaced, TV was maybe 30" and dated etc. etc. Everything was top notch until you enter the dated room. With that said - the bed was perfect and we both crashed and didn't want to get up the next morning. The linens are fantastic!

Staff were incredibly accommodating, couldn't do more for you. Incredible room service, went the extra mile with additional practical goodies...breakfast was superb, both buffet and ala carte. The bar staff where extremely helpful and provided an exemplary service. Concierge also where incredible, couldn't be more helpful - always putting themselves out to help! The same for reception staff.... Incredible and exceeded our expectations across the board!

Can't think of anything - all fantastic!

This is a first class old school white linens quiet elegance hotel. It is located in an historical building with a preserved Georgian facade. Room service was great: prompt, excellent food and cheerful staff. Front door staff very accommodating in getting taxis. The hotel has a pull-off in front so it isn’t necessary to hop out in or not to block traffic. it’s near a number of museums as well as Merrion Square, a city green area.

Because it is a low rise property it does not have expansive city views.

The place, the welcome, the service, the food are all great.

Only minor things really. Gym is small and classes running there so it was too busy to use when I visited. Lights in room were strong and no dimmers or separate switch to turn some on/off. The coffee machine in room was broken (but they gave me a free coffee so all good). Forgot to bring car around when it was scheduled

The Merrion considers every little detail in its thoughtful design and accommodations for its rooms. We arrived to a box of truffles waiting for us in the room that were delicious. The room was spacious, bathroom exquisite, and the bed was phenomenally comfortable. I haven’t even touched on the location, which is incredible relative to the site you can see with walking distance.

The vibe was a little too proper and commercial in terms of interactions with the staff. We were in our hiking gear and rucksacks, but several of the staff seemed reluctant to engage with us. I’m a laid back gent, so this was a touch disappointing.

Everything:) The hotel is absolutely amazing. Staff incredibly numerous and well trained, everyone so friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotless clean and the feeling of the stay was wonderful. Room was big and comfortable. The food at the Garden Room restaurant was delicious and the serving was lovely. The entire stay was truly amazing:)

Nothing.

The hotel facilities were excellent and the atmosphere was lovely.

My room wasn't ready at 2:30 pm and was told it would be ready for 3 pm. I'd just completed the marathon, and there was a lot of difficulty finding a seat to sit in as everything was reserved. On returning at 3pm, we were told we'd have to wait until 3:45pm. This was very disappointing.

The Merrion is the most stylish hotel in Ireland, the staff are exceptional. We ate the hotel cor lunch on the first day and it was very nice. On the second day we at the the 2* Michelin Patrick Gilbaud's downstairs. The master himself came to greet us and the food was, as usual, excellent. I am a coeliac and their bread is the best I've ever tasted.

The spa was a little disappointing.

The room was well appointed as was the bathroom. The breakfasts were fabulous, always correct, which is most unusual in an hotel in my experience of room service breakfast. The housekeeping staff were very thoughtful when turning down the bed at night, made nice little gestures which made all the difference. I felt they went out of their way to make our holiday special. . Also all the reception, concierges and breakfast staff. I thought everyone was so helpful.

The shower could have been slightly better. There could have been a lower shower attachment within the shower cubicle. Also the shower head seemed rather old and not very good. Could have done with an upgrade perhaps? The room was slightly smaller than we would have liked but then we were staying over a week so perhaps we should have gone for the next room up! Quite disappointed in the food in the garden room restaurant. I had two not very good meals there. My steak was inedible but having complained the day before and received the vibe that- that was not a good idea - I did not complain again.
