What an absolute gem this B&B is! Susan and Gordon were such lovely hosts. So cozy, clean, and comfortable. The family room was very large. Beds were great. Breakfast was phenomenal. Per my son, “Susan is the best cook ever!”. Their sweetie pie boxer dog was an added bonus - he was tolerant of our young kids; they loved greeting him every morning upon waking and every time we returned from our daily activities. I think this is a stay our family will remember forever! Thank you Susan and Gordon <3

Absolutely nothing. It was perfect!

Everything about the Lake House was magical. Breakfast was plentiful and with made to order options. Susan goes above and beyond and back again when it comes to hosting. We absolutely loved our stay and while we had plans which took us to other locations in Ireland, we were sad to leave. My family and I travel a good bit and have stayed many locations around the world, yet my teenagers will tell you that The Lake House in Dunmanway rates at the top of their list for the absolute best place. The beds and linens were top notch, the food was amazing, the staff was so helpful, the location is dreamy. Susan is just a lovely human with a kind and helpful demeanor.

I wish we could've stayed longer!

Me and my teenage daughter spent 4 wonderful days at the Lakehouse. The house is beautifully placed on the shores of a small lake. Rooms are clean and spacious, with very comfortable beds, and the breakfast is fantastic. Susan, the host, loves baking, so you’ll be treated with homemade bread, scones (the best I tried all across Ireland), jam and Marmelade. Susan is very helpful and will provide you with tips of how to make the most of your stay in West Cork. Dunmanway is a bit off the coast, but it’s strategically located with Clonakilty just about 30 min by car, and Mizen Head only a bit more than 1h away. And then there’s Jake of course, the Boxer dog, who will gladly accompany you for a stroll along the lake.

A superb place where to stay, both due to the setting and comfort but also due to the friendliness and cordiality provided by Susann. We enjoyed our stay in the house with amazing breakfasts and the delicious baking from Susann. The rooms were spacious and clean and the beds really comfy. We will definitely consider booking again as Dunmanway is a good place where to stay and have many different attractions from West Cork and Kerry at a short drive.

Location was great… just minutes outside of town… we did go in to get groceries, but unfortunately did not have time to explore more. Susan was a great host… we were met with scones and coffee/tea upon arrival! Breakfast was lovely… and Susan had lots of info to share about the area and Ireland! Definitely recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay at Lake House B&B. Susan and Gordon are great hosts who welcome you with an exceptional and heartwarming hospitality that makes you feel at home from the moment you step foot in. We were greeted with tea and freshly baked scones and Susan took a lot of time to welcome us. Susan's breakfast is the best and tastiest we've ever had in a B&B: Homemade bread, fresh pancakes, fried eggs, bacon and much more! The rooms are spacious, very nicely furnished and absolutely clean. To put it in one word: Perfect! This B&B deserves more than 10 points! Thank you Susan and Gordon! We felt incredibly comfortable with you and will be back!

Truly a home away from home: very friendly and helpful hosts, very cosy rooms and a fantastic breakfast (with home made marmalade, bread, scones, compote). Personally my best BnB experience in Ireland!

During our 3-week tour around the island of Ireland we stopped at this B&B which is located in a very rural area just over 1 mile from Dunmanway which is the only town for many miles. The property is located next to farmland with a fairly large lake within the grounds. Our room was immaculate, very comfortable, quiet and cosy allowing us to have good night’s sleep each night. The breakfast was fabulous with a lot of it home produced with a flexi time by arranging with Susan the day before. We felt really welcome with Susan giving us a lot of recommendations particularly on where to eat out as there are only a very limited number of locations offering meals in the town. We chose this B&B due to the remoteness of the area as we had a few planned visits within a few hours drive in the area to Mizen Head and Dursey Island via the cable car which was closed for maintenance until towards the end of the year.

A tranquil few days in a beautiful setting at Lake House. The welcome and hospitality from Susan, Gordon, and not forgetting Jake the Boxer, was wonderful! Many thanks for your kindness and for welcoming us into your home.

Susan was a great host and we had our best time at Lake House. Breakfast was delicious and we could choose between several cooked breakfast options. Our children loved Jake the dog. :-) Landscape was amazing and we enjoyed walking around the lake.
