The staff were lovely, particularly the two ladies serving breakfast every morning. The breakfast was the best we had in Italy - fresh fruit, cakes, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, yoghurt, cereals etc. Also a choice of hot and cold drinks. The room was spacious and decorated very tastefully with a large bathroom. Very central for walks, close to the station and restaurants/shops.

Lots of building work going on in the immediate vicinity which started at 7.30am every morning. No aircon - didn't bother us as it was only 20°, but we did need to have the windows open at night.

The staff were so lovely and helpful, all 3 young ladies spoke good English and helped me with a language issue re a lost iPad.. as well as great recommendations for dinner and hikes. Our upgraded room was just lovely and as others have commented Cortina is in the middle of a huge construction project so not at its best however our room was very quiet with the double glazed doors and shutters closed. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic and everything delicious. Onsite parking was perfect and the lovely young lady helped us with our bags too. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Unique, beautifully decorated historic boutique hotel in the center of Cortina, located stone's throw away from restaurants, shops, everything. The bedding was superior, nice robes + toiletries. Shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water, yay. Staff was attentive and personable, this place is clean, clean, clean! Bonus: Private parking lot. Worked out great as a base for day hikes and excursions.

Nothing to dislike

The Hotel Ambra was gorgeous and our room had a magnificent view! Location couldn't have been better! Great restaurants and shops were all walkable as was the Faloria cable car. The breakfast employees were amazing and we never had to wait more than a minute or two for our morning cappuccinos.

The upcoming Olympics mean there is quite a bit of construction happening all around Cortina but I don't know if any hotel in town isn't currently effected. Fortunately for us we had early morning wake-ups for winter activities but it could be bothersome for those looking to sleep in.

Hotel brilliantly located in the town. Breakfast was great and the Zelda cocktail bar was quirky and fun.

The kettle and coffee machine provided could only be used if plugged in to a plug on the floor which was irritating. I would have liked more information about how to reach the Tofana ski lifts as we ended up walking a long way or waiting ages for buses or paying for taxis to get to and from the slopes.

The hotel is almost a work of art. Elizabeth, the owner, has developed a beautiful and fun experience for guests. From the moment you walk in the door, the service was outstanding. She has also written three books on her experience and goals as an experiential host. We read two of them during the stay, and it conveyed her love for the business and the attention to detail she expects (and fun stories). Very nicely decorated and comfortable stay.

I'd like to start the review with recognizing the staff at this hotel. From check-in to checkout, the staff exceeded expectations. We started our stay meeting Kat at the front desk who quickly checked us in and walked us to our room. Kat was super friendly and professional. Kat answered questions for us about the area. Roberto was also very helpful. This hotel is very unique in all the right ways. The décor adds to the charm of your stay and the room had a modern feel to it.

We really loved our stay here. The only thing I would change is that the shower drained very slowly. Other than that, great stay!

Absolutely wonderful stay at Ambra Cortina in Cortina d'Ampezzo! The location is perfect, nestled in the heart of the Dolomites with breathtaking views. Our room was cozy, impeccably clean, and well-equipped. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. Their recommendations for local dining and activities were spot-on. Truly a gem in this stunning mountain town. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a blend of luxury and the great outdoors! Thank you Catarina, Luca and rest of the amazing staff!

Everything was great.

A wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Cortina. Each floor is dedicated to different aspects of fashion and luxury, meaning each room is "crafted" differently. This is well thought through by someone for whom hotelier is an art form. It was all very tastefully done and nicely arty. Breakfast is excellent as indeed are the staff. There's even parking as part of the service. Highly recommended.

Perhaps the rooms on the lower floors may be a little dark for some tastes. The lack of a walk-in shower (at least in our room) might bother some. It could have been made more explicit, but don't allow that to be a deal breaker. Book this hotel anyway. It's outstanding!

Most of the staff is amazing and extremely nice. We've seen three persons at the reception, a gentleman that was the nicest person ever, a blonde woman that was very kind and always helpful and another woman (dark hair) that will be mentioned in the next section. Also, there was a Ukrainian girl in the breakfast area that was extremely nice and friendly to us. The breakfast is very good, lots of options to choose from. Location is absolutely perfect, right in the center of Cortina. Free parking was very nice but can get crowded and difficult to park if you have a large car. The room was very clean and comfy!

The dark haired lady from the reception was not friendly at all, had a bad attitude and was the only one that had asked us to leave the room key at the reception when going out. I've asked why and she said in order not to "checkout" without handing back the key. We felt weird about that, didn't like it at all. Never been asked anything explicit like that anywhere else. It's a high end location, not a cheap motel where things like that happen. It's a bit odd that absolutely everyone else was amazingly friendly and kind and this is the only score point I've deducted, otherwise our stay would have been a 10. Other issue was the bathroom tub placement, you just cannot shower easily without flooding the entire bathroom, had to clean it up everytime we showered.
