Babuino 181 is located at the buzzing heart of Rome very close to most of the city's historical landmarks. It is ideal for those visiting for history and art as well as to find contemporary Roman living. The room is spacious, bright and airy. Although it is directly over the main street, the windows are well insulated shielding you from the bustle of the outside world. Breakfast is good and abundant. Finally, I have no words to describe the warmth and friendliness of the staff who are willing to help.

What a well-looked-after property like this, there is little that go wrong. And when it does, the staff is always at hand to help. Well done to everyone. You have made the stay perfect in a very complicated city. Arrivederci.

Excellent location. Many sights, restaurants, shopping areas within walking distance. Rooms are spacious with high ceilings and decorated in good taste.

The Housekeeping was sub-standard. No room service available. Breakfast was not ready avaiable at 8:45. Woman in charge of the coffee area on the terrace did not speak any foreign language and would just avoid guests’ orders. (However, if Valerio was on duty everything would just be perfectly & timely catered for).

The hotel is in the centre of Rome close to restaurants, 5 mins walk to the Spanish steps and 2mins walk to the Piazza del Popolo where the majority of the organised trips (eg Tuscany, Sorrento etc.) leave from. We stayed in room 107 Rooms are spacious, air conditioned, our room had both a bath & shower. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels. Welcome biscuits and a bottle of red wine was a lovely treat as we arrived in our room. Fridge with soft drinks and fresh bottled water available & coffee/tea making facilities. Plenty of choice at breakfast with a range of cereal, continental and some hot food options. Staff are very friendly, willing to help and with 24hour reception it’s great if you happen to arrive late to check in as we did. Highly recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay there again 😁

Nothing - wish we could have stayed longer

Quiet little hotel in a great location near to all the sights, shopping and restaurants. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom was luxurious. There were some nice complimentary treats on our arrival, including a bottle of wine, and it was great to have a balcony to sit on - though the view is just of the building opposite. The roof terrace is great and a nice place to sit and have breakfast, which was varied and plentiful.

It was quite expensive - but that's Rome!

Did not expect it to be as wonderful as it is! It is really lovely and well appointed. For example a real hair dryer like in a salon in every room, each room comes with an iron and ironing board. The beds and pillows and linens are lovely. Views out the windows with sunshine, easy to control air conditioner. When I thought I saw all they have a rooftop gorgeous outdoor and covered and enclosed dining room for breakfast and cocktails. Smells Good everywhere all day wiht whatever they are using. Staff is wonderful. We usually stay at a place twice the price. This is an extraordinary good deal. I am crazy to share this because it will be booked all the time now.

Hotel is in an excellent location. Rooms are spacious, with good linens, very comfortable beds and pillows. The walk-in closet was a plus, and the bathroom (bath and rain shower) is very big for Rome standards. Fine and branded Toiletries from Diptyque, and very well stocked every day. Staff are very welcoming and professional. Service is excellent. Roof terrace (with retractable canopy) for drinks and breakfast is comfortable, and airconditioned. Very good breakfast. Recommendable!!!! Keep it up.

It was slightly overpriced due to Coldplay concert (the forces of demand and supply), even if it was booked well in advance. But there is nothing to complain, really.

The basic Deluxe room and bathroom are exceptionally roomy and well-furnished, more than comfortable for two people. The coffee/espresso machine in the room and high quality bath products are to be expected but are still very much appreciated. The breakfast room on the rooftop terrace is a beautiful quiet oasis at the start of the day, and the breakfast offerings are varied and superb. Valerio and the staff on the terrace are wonderfully kind and welcoming.

There was water seeping up through the floor in the bathroom when walked on. Hopefully this is remedied for the next guest in Room 204. There is no lobby in this hotel, just a long desk and a narrow corridor. Not a big deal but lacks the warmth and hospitality of other SLH hotels in the area. The location just off Piazza Popolo lacks the charm of other areas of the city, although it is as central as anything else.

Rooftop bar area. Breakfast was great. Waitstaff on roof were fantastic, especially Valerio who was really helpful, had excellent ideas for things to see in Rome that are not on the usual circuit, and he was totally fun and charming. Liked the room and the very quiet insulation.

Events on roof kept us from going up for an evening drink so we could not enjoy the amenity, and the guests from events leaving at 11 pm or so down the stairs were noisy. No lobby area. Desk staff were fine but did not engage guests or try to be very friendly.

Great location and very helpful and friendly staff. The room was also very spacious, particularly in comparison to others in Rome. I particularly liked the location as it was in a central location, but away from the heavily crowded tourist areas which get very loud and busy.

I was unfortunate to have one of the rooms where the window faced the elevator (in the separate building), so there was no view and little light in the room. However, this didn't bother me too much as I would leave the room early in the morning and come back late in the evening. Note that if you have your window open in this room type, you can hear other guests and staff coming in and out of the elevator - it is as if they are standing in the room with you.

Good size of rooms. Cold drinks provided in room. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Very good terrace bar and bar staff. Kept bags safe to collect later for our late departure light.

Air conditioning did not work as set for heating so it made the rooms too hot. It was very exceptionally hot weather for February and clearly the hotel had not catered for this eventually. One room was on road front so too noisy to open the window for ventilation.
