Wonderful romantic old villa, very suitable for a stay in Rome. Excellent location.

Breakfast selection was rather poor, especially in warm dishes. Good quality but very limited choice. Having said that, the breakfast lounge was beautiful. The bedroom window didn't seal completely, allowing for a bit of street noise in the morning. I asked the staff if they could take care of it, but it didn't change.

We stayed at another SLH in Rome on our visit last year and really liked it. As nice as it was, Villa Spalletti Trivelli was head and shoulders above! Located on a quiet street just off Piazza Quirinale, it's an easy walk down the hill into the heart of Rome. Our Romantic Double Room was more than spacious enough with a very comfortable king bed, air conditioning, and a large, beautifully appointed, functional bathroom. Villa Spalletti Trivelli included everything in the room rate -- a fully stocked mini-fridge with a nice bottle of wine, constantly replenished water bottles (not plastic), healthy snacks, and all breakfast items (no extra charge for ordering from the kitchen). The staff are kind, conscientious and exceedingly helpful. Everything is spotlessly clean. The gym is the nicest we've experienced in many visits to Italy. I wish I would have booked ahead so that we were able to secure a room on our way through Rome on the way home; unfortunately, they are fully booked. This is our Rome hotel of choice from now on. Highly recommend!

This hotel was in a great location for us, but do want to mention that for those who may tire walking uphill due to health issues, it might be better to stay in the flatter part of town between Trevi and the Tiber.

We were warmly welcomed on arrival and given a complimentary drink in one of their grand lounge rooms. Our bedroom was very spacious with a large balcony overlooking the park ... very picturesque. Our bed was more than comfortable and the bathroom especially well-appointed, including a bidet and a bath, with warm bathrobes. We enjoyed using the other facilities in the hotel, including the jacuzzi on the rooftop and the Turkish sauna (possible to reserve privately). We were also pleasantly surprised by the free bar in the open loungeroom, where we could mix our own drinks each evening and sit by the open fire. At breakfast, they tried their best to accomodate allergies (gluten & lactose-free), and it was possible to order extra things from the menu, including omelette and preferred coffee, etc. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and Franco was especially kind in giving us tips on what to see.

The breakfast was fine, but we missed the extra touch which comes with a 5-star rating. Perhaps include some smoked salmon, more spreads for bread, and perhaps a different range of charcuterie & cheese each day, as it was often the same. We certainly missed the coffee & tea-making facility in the bedroom, as most hotels these days come equipped with a water kettle. We needed to order room service for this, which was understandably quite expensive. Dinner was available in the breakfast room, which was convenient, but the atmosphere was certainly lacking; some dim lighting would have been very welcome. The dinner menu is fair but a little expensive, considering the quality of the meal; again, not up to a 5-star standard.

The friendly but discrete staff made us feel very welcomed, the bedroom and public rooms were relaxing and quiet, the free bar was a bonus and a good idea, where we sat and chatted to other guests over a drink. Breakfast was comprehensive with fresh coffee and food served to your requirements until 11.00 am. The rooftop jacuzzies were great to relax in after a day walking around the city. The gardens are pleasant and tranquil both to relax in and have dinner and or breakfast in. It's location was so good and close to all the sites, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum etc.

Absolutely nothing. Leave it as it is , it worked for us. The fact that we had to move to another hotel for the last two nights of our stay in Rome due to the hotel being fully booked.

The location was perfect. A quiet oasis in a busy city. From the staff to the decor to the food it was all amazing and we loved the laid back atmosphere while being surrounded by history and antiques. What a joy. The staff were exceptional in their attention and care. I am coming back for a longer stay as the hotel offers a myriad of experiences that we missed as we were out and about.

Seriously nothing could have been better. We would book a bigger room next time. The room this time was great but for a longer stay we would like more space.

The location was great. A short walk from the Trevi Fountain but still felt removed from all of the hustle and bustle. Very quiet. Our room was phenomenal. Huge, comfortable bed. Large windows with a courtyard view. The bathtub and shower were both very nice. The staff was also amazing. The housekeeping team cleans your room whenever you leave so you always have fresh everything. Didnt have to ask them to do a single thing. The front desk staff was attentive and informative. Open bar every night in the lobby. The entire property is gorgeous. I cant say enough good things. Would definitely stay here again and not sure I would consider any other option in Rome.

No complaints whatsoever.

The room was beautiful and felt like a home. I really loved the sheets. Outside of the room, we were able to enjoy the beautiful common spaces of the villa. I could have spent so much more time just sitting in the lounges admiring the decor. It was clear that a lot of attention to detail had been applied to every tiny aspect of the experience, which felt spacious, luxurious, and relaxing. Even though the villa is just a few minutes from Trevi Fountain, it feels like a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing.

Nothing. I loved it.

After a few days, we felt at home - something the chain hotels with their sterile rooms and sterile lobbies cannot offer. The location is great - between the di Trevi Fountain (5 minutes walk) and the Colosseum (12 minutes walk). Lots of good restaurants in walking distance. The rooms are spacious - we had the "Palatino" room in the Annex (separate building) and it was perfect for a family, with a separate bedroom and our own patio with shaded seating. There was also a kitchen in the room - very useful. The kitchen was pretty well appointed with an oven, a fridge, a freezer, lots of pots and pans. The buffett breakfast was excellent - not a super huge selection (it's a small hotel after all) but all the important items were there and the quality was breathtaking. The service is very personal and friendly. It's the kind of place where you have to ring a bell to have the receptionist come and open the door for you. Again, it's not an anonymous big hotel. We loved it.

The only item we missed in the kitchen in our room was a microwave - that was a disappointment. I believe it's a very useful appliance for travellers - should be added. They are very cheap these days.

a perfectly preserved villa has been converted into a hotel, the interior is incredibly beautiful and authentic, every detail is in its place, a very cozy courtyard, a library, two living rooms with a free bar - everything is created for comfort. very comfortable bed, constantly replenished water supply, and bar

there was no iron in the room, but the thing is that the staff refused to bring it under the pretext of fire safety. It looks a little greedy because there was an iron, of course, but there is no way to iron things on your own, only use paid service

this is the most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed in. a perfect respite from the chaos of Rome, we ate breakfast out in the private garden every morning, the complimentary breakfast was absolutely great as were the evening cocktails. our room was spotless, big, such a comfortable bed, great linens and wooden doors that fit perfectly into the windows so we could catch up on sleep. 15 mins walk from colosseum, 10 to trevi fountain, and 10 mins walk from the amazing monti district with tons of great restaurants. thank you so much for having us. it was such a pleasure and we will definitely be back!
