We had a very pleasant stay at Ca' Dei Leoni, in its very familiar and personalized experience. The staff was great, the person at the reception helped us with information and a map when we first arrived in Venice. And on the next day told us a lot of stories about the city and his experiences when asked. The breakfast wasn't anything out of this world, but it did its job well and kept us fed throughout the morning. The place is outside of the common touristy areas which keeps you away from the constant noise and has multiple vaporetto stops nearby if you don't wish to walk back. The walk from the airport vaporetto stop is about 10 minutes and only included one bridge on the way, which was nice.

The place has very thin walls and outside noises can sometimes wake you up in the middle of the night. The place is old, like half of Venice, so creaks and thuds can be heard, but it didn't really bother us. Oh, and as other reviewers said, there are pigeons in the courtyard for breakfast, but they don't really bother you. They mostly leap onto empty tables to pick the remains of bread left by other visitors.

The location was perfect - a quiet peaceful corner of the city away from all the tourists. The room was comfortable and very historic. I enjoyed breakfast on the veranda every morning and the staff were very friendly with us. I highly recommend staying here.

The room was a little small but not a major problem. Breakfast is the same for everyone apart from the drinks, so if you like jam and croissants that's fine but apart from that there's not really much choice. Also the pigeons descend for your breakfast in the masses, I adore pigeons so this didn't bother me but it may do for other people.

Charming room in a perfect location! Not noisy outside at all. Great breakfast served outside by Paola, who was exceptionally nice to us and made our stay very enjoyable! She seemed more like a good friend and not just a staff member. Thank you Paola! The hotel was close to everything we needed including the vaporetto! We spent three nights there and loved our experience! Nicoli (I believe his name was) at the front desk was also incredibly helpful and charming and let us keep our bags there after checkout so we could get something to eat. I hope to go back again one day! Thank you for everything! We love Venice and love this hotel!

I can't think of anything I didn't like really.

The hotel was in a convenient location, just a 10/15 minute walk from the railway station. I'm terms of the hotel itself, this quaint typical venetian building was tucked away inside one of the cities many countryards leading to a quiet and relaxed stay. We stayed just the one night, but would've happily stayed more. The staff were friendly and above all helpful in terms of navigating through the streets of Venice. The breakfast was served in their garden, with the staff doing a good job to serve it promptly.

The in room facilities were lacking, there was no coffee machine for one, but it did not detract from our stay as you spent most of your time out and about.

Location was close to all water and train transportation so you didn't have to drag your luggage far. The room was a complete surprise as started on the second floor and ended on the third floor. The views were of greenery, piazza's and private. Lots of natural light yet, heavy drapes to keep the sun out while sleeping. This was a two story bedroom with the full bath and sitting area on the first floor. Breakfast (included) was amazing!

It could use a handrail on the stairs in side this particular room. We were very careful going down the stairs in the night to use the private bathroom.

Small hotel with an old-time feeling. Very friendly and helpful staff. They provided recommendations for transport, activities, places to visit and eat, all in English. Room was clean, a bit on the small side, but enough for a solo traveller. Having breakfast in the garden was lovely.

Getting to the hotel from the train station was a bit confusing the first time, but such is Venice. It is easier to walk all the way to the main channel and then do a U-turn than try to find your way through the narrow streets. The breakfast options were a bit limited but still tasty (sweet, not savoury). You should probably ask in advance if you need gluten/lacto-free options.

The location was great and quiet. Very simple but had everything we needed, including normal shower toiletries and plenty of towels. The true star of this establishment is the staff. We met two gentlemen at the front desk and both were incredibly helpful, kind and polite. We stayed here our first day in Europe and they were able to accommodate an early check in which was a life saver. They also allowed us to store our bags after checkout since we had a later train. And the gentleman at the desk when we were leaving even offered us espresso because we were so tired.

There wasn’t anywhere to hang any towels, so that was a little difficult but not the end of the world. The only issue we had is that we didn’t get to try the breakfast because there were soooo many pigeons. It looked like it would’ve been good, but my husband wanted to leave, so we instead went to the (delicious) crepe place around the corner.

We only stayed for one night as we had booked elsewhere for the rest of our stay: - Great location; quite neighbourhood (the hotel entrance is situated in a small square). Very close to the Crea vaporetto stop and there is a flat bridge (one of the few in Venezia) with which you can reach cafes and a lively area via which eventually leads to the Santa Lucia train station very quickly. - The staff was very helpful and extremely polite - they made us feel really welcome. We arrived late (and typically after check-in hours) but were there to check us in and provide information. - the breakfast was a nice touch (breakfast is very rare in Venezia), served outside (a covered area) Overall, it's great value considering the prices in Venice esp. if you want to stay in Venice and you're on a budget.

- the rooms are relatively small and kind of musty (quite common in Venice though). - the breakfast is pretty basic, but considering the expectations in Venice, it was OK. - the hotel is quaint, although I think that with a bit of renovation (rooms and breakfast area) it has great potential - I would still recommend it esp. for short stays.

The hotel is located in a quiet courtyard in Canareggio. It is within walking distance of the train station and near several vaporetti stops including Alilaguna from/to the airport. Many small restaurants dot both sides of the canal. The hotel's interior is quaint but charming with local decor throughout. The single room was spacious enough with a desk, armoir, and good lighting. The bathroom included a corner shower stall plus bidet, toilet, sink, nice towels and a few toiletries. Continental-style breakfast is served in a garden which fortunately had a roof because it was raining. Breakfast items tend toward the sweet with no savory offerings. Best, I enjoyed chatting with the most-simpatico owner and his son who were very friendly and helpful in dispensing information.

The mattress and pillow were much firmer than what I am accustomed to.

Everything was great at this lovely hotel. Walking in the door you are greeted by a very friendly gentleman. He carried our bags up the stairs, which were very heavy. He proceeded to pull out a map and circled lots of highlights around Venice. The room was spacious and absolutely spotless. They serve a basic continental breakfast. Enough to get you going for the day. The location of the place is great. Pretty close to the train station. Easy to find. Quiet neighborhood without tourists. Plenty of water taxi locations. This was a very pleasant place to stay.
