Great location, lovely decor from the moment you walk in, love the cocktail bar, the lounge area, breakfast overlooking the Basilica, good selection at breakfast. Staff very lovely and helpful. I can’t believe how good it was value for money to be just off St marks square in January. Room was clean, bed large, linen good, turn down service, shower powerful. The room was a little dated but absolutely fine, all I wanted was coffee making facilities to be happy.

Our window looked out to a wall but what do you expect in Venice. If I looked left I saw the top of the Basilica. It would be great to make coffee in the room.

Location is absolutely great! Nice large bathroom with super bathtub but no shower. Nice size room. Staff was nice and helpful.

Hallways are old, dark and dirty. Room needs upkeep specially rugs. Bathroom did not have a shower curtain that makes it very uncomfortable to take a bath. The hair dryer is one of those really old ones that are attached to the wall that don’t dry hair at all. No hair conditioner. You need to go up a flight of stairs to get to reception and elevator. Hotel charges for bottle of drinking water.

What a great location!! At first a bit hesitant due to the price; especially for a family of 5 needing two rooms; which they placed next to each other. Room size much larger than the average European room (as compared to the US rooms); bathrooms had North American power adapter handy for the wife's curling iron. Plenty of opportunities for dining, museums, palace, shopping and Saint Mark's Basilica. Although there were plenty of gondola stops nearby the hotel; we walked a bit north for our gondola ride to avoid the gondola "train". Despite the price, the location couldn't have been more perfect. Too busy in the plaza? Head to the hotel for a cool down drink and enjoy the Plaza San Marco after the day tourist have gone. Nearby dock for water taxi avoid you having to drag luggage across the plaza. Not necessarily hotel-related; but you will want to know the high-tide times as the Plaza San Marco does flood at high tide. Another nice time to escape into this hotel; as the water compresses the plaza crowd to the dry spaces.

Good selection for continental breakfast. Had gluten free bread for me too. Room was lovely with a great terrace. Location was perfect for St Marks Square Staff were very helpful.

Negatives - shower over the bath which wouldn’t normally be a problem but the bath was so high getting in and out was tricky. Could do with tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Lots of stairs and a very small lift. The corridor leading to our room needs decorating - shabby 80s paper. Other areas of the hotel are beautiful and you can see where they have spent money bringing the hotel up to date.

Ceiling height in one of our bathrooms meant that taking a shower was difficult for tall people. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Fantastic location but views from bedrooms are non-existant (no problem for us but worth knowing). I would definitely stay here again though.

The location was brilliant. Next door to S.Marco Square. The staff were extremely attentive, especially the ladies on reception - printing water taxi and train times, arranging a breakfast box when leaving exceptionally early for a day trip. The room is spacious and classically Venetian. It is beyond clean with housekeeping tidying 2-3 times a day.

The pillows were not comfy. I’ve had better hairdryers on campsites, it’s old and basic. If I’m being picky, the breakfast is very basic. The bread rolls were stale on one morning

Very low ceiling in bathroom made showers very difficult Very easy to flood the room. No free water in the room is poor for a hotel of this standard.

The location was great, considering it was in the heart of St. Mark’s Square. The room felt luxurious.

It was not super accommodating for my father’s accommodations. The shower was nearly impossible to get in and out of and the elevator was out of order the day we were leaving so it was a hard trip out of there. The hotel boasts a cocktail bar, but the night we wanted to go there wasn’t a bartender and the person who stepped in had to look up recipes for basic cocktails.

The hotel is in a fantastic location for tourism with lots of restaurants and shops on the doorstep. Close to the water and on St Marks Square. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The reception arranged water taxis for us when we needed them and nothing was too big an ask. The rooms and hotel as a whole was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast with a selection of pastries, fruits, cereals etc. The coffee is amazing!

It seems quite unfair that I point this out, as it's not necessarily the fault of the hotel! But while the location is great, it's not the quietest.... The bells are a beautiful sound, but not quite so melodic throughout the night, on the hour. We didn't necessarily get woken every hour, but the 7am bells are definitely played as a city alarm clock 😂 The hotel does have a bar underneath as well, which can get loud, but isn't open too late. It was only really one night it affected us, and that was just down to where our room was really. It wouldn't affect every room.

Hairdryer is old fashion, and doesn’t work properly. Bath could have simple things to make the bath easier, like a small wall shelf. But we ask a hairdryer and it came very fast.
