The pools and beach front at the Fairmont were amazing. with over 4 pools to choose from, you can’t go wrong. The swim up bar is great as well.

The restaurants at the Fairmont were severely overpriced and the food was not great. We are at Cana for dinner and lunch and we’re pretty unsatisfied with the food. The service at these restaurants however was very good. Also, breakfast is steep at $40pp.

Location, staff, lobby areas, room size, pools all great. This is an older hotel in great shape so it's in a great spot and has mature luxurious plantings and etc. I thought everyone working there was fantastic and kind.

Prices for incidental snacks and drinks were very high, hotel was a little understaffed, guests were obnoxious about claiming all the pool chairs with objects then leaving the area, I personally didn't care about this but some people didn't like the noise from the airport.

It beautiful, friendly, great food and drink. Very cautious with COVID-19. People complain. About the prices but the staff literally runs across acres to get you whatever you want.

I couldn’t find in the fine print where they charge 100$ a night per person. Needless to say, I would have been fine if that was to cover drinks, food, potentially trashing the room, etc. but it was a shock when I got there. This could have been better explained or if the front desk could have split the cost on my credit cards it would have been fine.

The resort is beautiful and the restaurants are wonderful! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the beach and pools are pristine and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful! The beach and pool staff anticipated our every need and Jaun was particularly helpful and attentive! I accidentally left my fan outside and Kenneth, at the front desk, helped me retrieve it from their lost and found and when I mentioned it was my birthday trip, he had a bottle of champagne, a beautiful slice of cake and a gorgeous fresh fruit plate waiting in our room for us! Ww can't wait to come back!

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

I really loved staying at Fairmont El San Juan. We went for a family vacation, and the staff was very accommodating in making sure our rooms were as close together as possible. Everything was near the hotel (stores and restaurants around it). Not to mention the hotel restaurants, casino, and entertainment were delicious and/or so much fun!! The pool was so nice with the in-pool bars and seating areas. The beach is literally right there. Getting taxis and Ubers from the hotel to Old San Juan was quick and easy, which we appreciated. If you want a full resort experience in San Juan, this is the place. We really enjoyed ourselves!

The hotel rooms could be just a little cleaner with various cracks and crevices but nothing too major. Also, the power could go out every now and then during the late night hours due to so much electricity running on the small island but only for a few seconds. Again, nothing to be concerned about just to be aware of. Pools close at 9pm, which we thought was kind of early but considering everyone's safety after drinking at night, it makes sense.

Well situated. Lots of pools to choose from, some entertainment at night, casino in the hotel! Love that they gave free beach tote bag and free water bottle to fill with water. As well as free sunscreen and after sun gel. The pool staff was really nice, they were always accommodating at the beach and at the pool.

They were short staffed. Front desk Didn’t answer the phone right away…house keeping forgot to clean our room twice. They also did a lousy job when they came to clean. They didn’t put drinks in the mini bar which would have been nice to have available. Also The poolside bar service could have been better.

Phenomenal service. All the staff were exceptionally kind, helpful and friendly. The swimming pools and hot tubs were wonderful, and the swim-up bar was really fun. Great beach (and we could always get beach chairs anytime we wanted). They had fun games out on the lawns/pool area for kids (ping pong, large connect four set, corn hole).

We traveled as a family of 5 with 3 rooms--two were close together but the other was in another building (we had asked for rooms close together when we made our reservation). Most of the lounge chairs at the pool were "reserved" so you had to pay extra to use them. The free chairs were always "claimed" by guests leaving something to mark them early in the morning (although they sat empty most of the day), so there were no pool chairs left for others who were actually using the pool area.

The resort is beautiful. A mixture of classic and modern decor. The pool areas are spacious. Great location. Close to the airport and walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the resort. Enjoyed all of it. Everything we ate was delicious. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

The patio/balconies literally overlook nothing! It’s a step outside your door with a 5 ft makeshift brick wall placed in front of it. Peek over the wall and you’ll see the hotel roof. Not worth the additional charge and honestly shouldn’t even be offered because it’s a waste of money and false advertisement. Lots of chairs at the pool but not enough umbrellas.

The pool area is amazing, I love the swim up bar.

Balcony rooms don’t have a view, if you want a room higher up with a view it won’t have a balcony.
