Everything! Staff are super friendly, location is wonderful. We saw sunset everyday.. it can’t get any better than this. Also if you would like to go to the island (Sapi is recommended), you can take the boat from Star Marina which is inside the hotel. The massage place Chi, was mind blowing! If you want to go shopping use Grab app and call a cab to Imago Shopping Centre only 10 mins from hotel.

Since we stayed for a week, breakfast became very boring as the menu didn’t change. The breakfast menu should be revamped completely. But whoever makes the croissant 🥐 should get a raise. Mind-blowing.

Extremely ❤️ the breakfast and also the buffet!

A lot of water activity playgrounds for the children. Breakfast was good and a plenty of choices. Beds are comfortable, we upgraded to sea view which is a great way to wake up.

Though the premium breakfast or extended club was pricy for it's facility. The extended club costs additional but the quality and the variation for the premium price was not justified.

Great breakfast buffet. Great dinner buffet. Awesome kid's club that we left our 4 and 9 year olds at for an hour or 2. Kids club was also great for our 1 year old. Really good proximity to sapi and the other islands. We got a boat from the hotel straight there. Journey was about 15 minutes. Very close to the mall. Great hotel, will definitely be back!

Rooms on the Kinabalu wing are a little dated, nothing too bad. The Tanjun wing rooms are newly refurbished, but slightly more expensive.

Lovely resort. So much for the children to do on site. Food was brilliant. Staff were friendly and attentive to any needs. Would stay there again.

Dont come back to the resort between 4pm and 7pm because of the market on the road leading to the resort. Took us 3 hours to get back one day. Not the resorts fault though.

It was a beautiful place with great views. We were able to watch some beautiful sunsets. The pool is very lovely and has an area specifically just for adults. You can order food and drinks to the poolside which is a bonus. There are also 3 water slides which were very fun! A range of activities are offered including opportunities to go to other islands and snorkel etc. there is also a games room with activities like table football, pool and video games.

Affordable food felt limited and the range of food wasn’t the best. It isn’t far to get into town to get a wider variety.

Spacious room, we love the view overlooking the sea as we were able to catch the sunset from our room balcony. We love the various tea selection in the room, they welcomed us with a mini birthday decoration for me even when I did not request for any. Facilities were great. The children loved the pool and the water slides very much. Location was great as its a short 15 mins drive to the airport, a short drive (can walk but with smallnkids it can be quite a distance) to the Tanjung Aru Beach Night Market and also nearby many food places. It is also a short 12 mins drive to the famous Filipino Market. A must visit when you're in KK! Breakfast spread was really good. A lot of varieties to choose from but it was quite crowded when we were there, there were many travellers from overseas so if you go for breakfast after 9am, some food may have finished. Can easily book island hopping via Star Marina at Shang Ri La. We had a great time at Manukan Island booked via Star Marina. In addition, staffs were accommodating and welcoming. Definitely will stay here again when I visit KK in the near future!

lots of staff, very courteous very clean . good food selection but:::

very expensive for drinks. But, breakfast, whilst good selection of hot and cold foods for Asian countries, no toasting machine. Salt and Pepper dispensers on tables unusable, of the “grinder type” didn’t dispense. lifts to the Kinabalu block - where we stayed, did not work li there was the slightest breeze. doors would not close. TV Channel selection poor for this standard of hotel also TV in our room very poor reception.

The facilities are superb with various entertainment facilities. We played ocean kayak with reasonable price. The view from the sunset bar was fantastic. The staff are generally nice and helpful. The food in sunset bar and from room service was wonderful and good value for money too.

The room facilities are rather old, not up to an international hotel chain standard. Some waiters in the sunset bar were a bit impolite, most likely because of the crowd. There should be 12 satay but they only serve 11. When we reflected to the staff, no apologies were offered.

The buffet breakfast was delicious and lots of choices. It is recommended to include local gourmet such as fried kuey tew (flat rice noodles) and dessert (pandan cake, cake sarang semut etc) into the breakfast buffet. It would be fun to learn local cuisine cooking. It is recommended to arrange free cooking class in small group for the hotel guests.
