Good for a quiet & short vacation, all inclusive, with children or if you are retired. We did appreciate that it was the only hotel on that part of the beach to have an architecture style at least remotely inspired by local culture.

Very expensive and you are charged for everything (as an example, we were charged for takeaway coffee at breakfast, since we were not sitting to drink the coffee). The hotel needs a refurbishment (looks a bit Y2K)

We are world travelers and stay at only luxury hotels. We can say that the Cancun Kempinski (formerly the Ritz) is one of the nicest winter beach vacations we have ever had. Every thing about this property is top notch, fresh flowers throughout the hotel , meticulously clean rooms and common areas and staff that really understands guest service. Many staff members have been with the hotel long term and they are proud the hotel and the work they do. That converts to genuinely friendly encounters with everyone who works at the hotel. We booked a room with access to the 8th floor club including food and beverages at breakfast, lunch , tea time and dinner. The food was always excellent with standard offerings for vegetarians and non-gluten guests at every single meal. The pastry chef is a genius!! Our club concierge (Iliana) took care of all our bookings so competently and helped us celebrate our anniversary in so many thoughtful ways. Thank you Iliana. All of the hotel staff across the board were ever so accommodating and friendly. This is a beautiful luxury hotel that spares nothing to please it’s guests including heating the pool water in one of its 3 very clean pools. Pool and beach service is excellent. The ocean waves vary according to the month, so check that out when making your decision about booking dates. We are already looking forward to our next visit to the Kempinski.

There is nothing we did not like about this hotel.

Great venue and amenities. Fab beach with access to sea and pools. Great room and views. Staff helpful and friendly. Easy access to public transport. Access to outside restaurants if needed. Access to, and advice with good organising, of excursions locally.

Small bottles of water in the room. Though they are more than happy to top up at no expense, larger bottles would be more convenient. Felt rushed with meals. Waiters were excellent but too eager to remove dishes, top up coffee, bring next course. Felt maybe pacing would be helpful. This was not unique at this hotel but similar throughout our stay in Mexico.

It’s an amazing place, great location, great service, and I felt like home, rooms are amazing, food are incredible, there could not have been a better choice, all employees are amazing since the beginning.

I missed a mini market, snacks, since the prices charged in the hotel restaurants are very high, and of course, they are incredible, but I believe there could be a middle ground, something more affordable yet good quality for a quick snack, a simple meal, that doesn't cost a kidney.

Good location, close to the center—if it can be called a center—since the hotel area is a long stretch with malls, restaurants, and other amenities spread across different areas. However, the hotel is in a good spot, right on the beach with turquoise water (facing the sea, not the lagoon). There is also a nearby bus station that runs through the resort, and there are restaurant options in the area. The hotel was clean, well-ventilated, and free from dampness, which is common in much of the area. It offers a beautiful view and amenities such as water, coffee, utilities, daily cleaning, comfortable beds and pillows, an iron, a hairdryer, and a safe. We even had a large terrace. The staff were very friendly and even allowed us a late check-out. The breakfast was extremely varied. It was safe, no issues.

It could have more facilities in the courtyard of the complex. There are two pools that look quite old, a beach bar, and sun loungers on the beach.

Breakfast buffet was excellent, quality and variety of food. Unfortunately, if you are pescatarian there no many options except from prawns and salmon. I did not have any fish during my entire stay as there were none proposed on the menu. Pool and beach areas were also very comfortable and pleasant. Staff were providing a excellent service. Manager Danitza and Monserrat were very helpful and I thank them again for their assistance in changing my room due to noise & AC not working. They were very professional and accommodating Excellent customer service - I have been offered a gift for Xmas and a delicious cake & chocolate strawberies for my anniversary. Thank you!

Location - it's a bit far from La Isla Shopping Mall and Qunta Cancun (where you have all the restaurants, bars/nightclubs such as Coco Bongo) AC in the rooms is not working properly, doesn't cool down and make a lot of noise (feeling like you have a airplane engine in your room) Room is not isolated, you can hear your neighbors - so very noisy. Also, the rooms designed in an opened space from floor 4 to 7 so it gets extremely noisy. No free airport transfer shuttle which I have found unsual for a 5* Hotel. This is actually the first time that I have encountered a 5* Hotel not offering any airport transfer service. No entertainment at night offered by hotel

The staff was incredible. The service was the best I have experienced in Mexico and have been traveling there for many years. We traveled to Nizuc in Cancun a few weeks ago and the service was so much better at kempinski. It was also quieter and overall a better experience. The rooms were also cozier at kempinski. We will 100% be back.

In general, the food was not too expensive considering the quality. The only thing I thought was strange was that the shrimp tacos on the bar menu were very overpriced - I dont know why they were so much more than the other items on the menu. Seems more like an error than anything else. 35 dollars for three very small tacos.

The ambiance was beautiful, relaxed, peaceful, casual and classy vibe at the same time. Staff were absolutely amazing. View from my room was superb. Loved the room. House keeping were so lovely. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Loved that they offered green juice.

Music all day in the pool area. Could hear it from my room during the day. Prefer the sound of the ocean or some very chill/ jazz like music not popular music. Food was expensive. Sometimes more expensive than Los Angeles or around the same. Still it was good quality food.

When the cab driver dropped us off, he said we were staying at the best hotel in Cancun. We typically stay at Park Hyatt or Four Seasons so I wasn’t sure about the cabbie’s prouncement. But he was right. The staff were absolutely fantastic; everyone called us by name. Great pool/beach boys; fantastic world-class restaurant (Fortino’s) and incredible atmosphere.

I wish I would have selected a suite with more sun exposure.
