The hotel grounds are beautiful, better than in the pictures. Our room was huge and so were the bathroom and the walk-in closet; also very clean. The pool is big and since there are only five rooms in the hotel one can pretty much have it all to themselves. If not, there are two more pools at the other adjacent hotel (same owner). The owner, Philippe, is very nice and has good recommendations for restaurants. The breakfast was very good with various choices, served by professional Franco (sorry, not sure of spelling).

I really enjoyed my time at Hacienda Merida VIP. The building has historical charm and there’s no better way to feel the weight of Merida’s history. The room was very big and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool area. They actually had 3 pools, one for each section. One of the highlights is the location, right in the middle of the old town. Everything we wanted to visit was within a 10-minute walking distance. It was a great stay!

The staff was so warm and lovely, we felt instantly at home and cared for. We stayed in the upper level suite overlooking the pool and it was absurdly, delightfully grand — the terrace was lovely, the bathroom beyond big (with a dream shower and I’m what I’m convinced was basically a plunge pool), along with a massive walk-in wardrobe/dressing room with a mini-fridge. We could not have asked for more!

The outdoor cushions on the terrace furniture could’ve used a small wipe-down/refresh, but it had been raining before our arrival, so I’m sure that didn’t help their state! The space was otherwise super clean, and when we had trouble figuring out how to turn on the ceiling fan, they immediately brought in so many people to solve the problem that it was whirring within seconds. The level of attention was beyond expectations.

The hotel is beautiful and peaceful yet it's strategically located near everything you'll need to enjoy your stay in beautiful Mérida. The Staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous, they provided information about the area, things to do and places to be. The room overviewed the pool and was very well ventilated with both a ceiling fan and AC Unit. The pool was very refreshing!

It would've been great to have a mini fridge in the room to store the water bottles provided.

The location of Hotel Merida VIP was superb. It's on a quiet street just a few blocks from one of the main plazas in Merida. The hotel is pretty with spacious rooms, comfortable beds and lovely toiletries. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made us feel comfortable after a long day of travel. The breakfast was substantial and delicious and the wait staff was very friendly.

There is nothing that stood out that I'd mention here.

a few items were not working properly , safety box , room telephone , and window did not close securely. everything else was fine .

The staff and the property were exceptional! The vibe takes you back to a different era, no one is in a rush and the town is picturesque with vibrant coloured facades. The intimate yet spacious facilities also allow for guests to have their privacy and space without being on top of each other. The hacienda is located pretty much within walking distance from the town centre and best restaurants! Just make sure to have mosquito repellents at hand.

Nice hotel very close to Sta Lucia square- very convenient. Our room was quite large and pleasant, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast, though not included, was quite nice. The hotel is in two parts-- with another building not part of the hotel between it. You can use the other side of the hotel if you are in the VIP. Very cute bar with friendly staff in the other section. Front desk people were extremely nice and helpful

Skylight leaked in our bedroom closet during the rain and needs to be fixed.

Super cool place at excellent location! The staff were super sweet and helpful. I really loved the room, which was very cool with the highest ceiling I’ve ever slept or showered under. And the hotel is situated at a calm, yet very central location.

If I had to pinpoint something, it would be that the breakfast could be a bit better, and that the shower is either super hot, or ice cold.

Some recommendations about local facilities and restaurants etc would have been welcome VIP wing rather disconnected from the rest of the hotel. Pool rather cold and always in shade
