The hotel is very small only 18 rooms, we had one of two suites which was a larger room in the top floor. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The location of the hotel is outstanding, right near Thamel but in a very quiet little pocket which meant a restful sleep. We also enjoyed the balcony area outside reception where we could sit and enjoy a drink and / or food and watch the world go by. The staff are amazing and very attentive. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. This is a lovely boutique hotel that we would come back to in a heartbeat if we returned to Kathmandu.

The hotel is located in a quiet side street not far from Thamel's busy streets where you can find lots of eateries and shops. In the morning you can enjoy a rich and varied breakfast buffet and for lunch and dinner you can choose a la carte dishes. The room was spacious, clean and very comfy. The manager and concierge helped me organise a driver and car for sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley, they booked a bus ticket to Pokhara and gave me lots of information and recommendations for my stay in Nepal. Pick-up and drop off at the airport (extra charge) was arranged as well. I stayed again at the hotel on my way back home. I really loved this place, I felt really welcome and it felt like home far away from home.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel as though I was staying with caring friends rather than at a hotel. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were spotless, bright, and thoughtfully designed, offering both comfort and tranquility. The hotel is located on a quiet street, providing a peaceful retreat after a busy day. Everything about my stay exceeded my expectations, and I truly felt at home here. The staff at this hotel are amazing. The ladies on the front desk are warm, friendly and caring, the restaurant staff are lovely and the manager was very helpful in organising tour and transport arrangements for us. Together they made us feel very welcome and took good care of us. Our room was spacious and clean, good shower and the bed very comfortable. Location is great with easy access to the Thamel tourist area. Excellent hotel, well deserving of the good reviews they attract. Thanks to the Kumari team for a great stay.

Nothing to complain about

Lovely big room with lovely big and comfortable bed. Armchair , table, TV and all modern conveniences. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Any request I made was seen to immediately. Good location but situated in a quiet street near the shops of Thamel so I slept extremely well . The food was great. Lots of choice at breakfast and also on the dinner menu. Food was cooked when ordered and was tasty and well prepared. As a result I ate in the hotel restaurant every evening. I was a single lady traveling alone but felt safe and looked after. The price of the hotel and airport transfers were extremely reasonably priced. Excellent value for money and better service than I had received in a 5 star hotel in Kathmandu 18 months previously

No complaints at all

The hotel staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming. Additionally, the hotel is in the heart of Thamel, so you are relatively close to a lot of nice places catered to tourists. There is a rooftop to have a cigarette too which is always a bonus.

The rooms are fine but nothing extraordinary, and while the hotel is indeed in a central location within Thamel, it is located in some alleys, so it was a bit of a challenge to access it at first, even after having been in the Thamel area for several days. Being in such a labrynth of alleys, it is then no surprise that the rooms didn't offer much of a view.

The hotel is very clean and safe, with extremely friendly staff. The staff at the reception, in particular, stands out for its kindness and for the support they provide you with. The hotel is located in Thamel, nearby nice shops and restaurants (the excellent Tibetan restaurant Utse is just 3 minutes walking from the hotel). Durbar Square is also not far away, just 15 minutes by walking. Despite its central location, the hotel is also located in a quiet street, far from the traffic noise. At breakfast you have a good assortment of food (I appreciated a lot the presence of veggies). The hotel room has a safe box (I consider it a plus, although Nepal is a very safe country). I found the bathroom cute, the shower door has an elegant modern design .

Well deserved 5 stars. I stayed here for a couple nights after trekking and it was such a warm welcoming experience. Staff are friendly and literally quick to respond to any and all needs. I asked for a room with sunlight since I might be spending a lot of time resting and got a room on the 4th floor with a gorgeous view of trees and skyline. The room itself was clean, great bed, great water pressure, all needs met. The staff arranged private car transport to the airport for less than other hotels had done for me, and when they realized there was something happening in town which might cause traffic to be worse, they called to let me know so we could leave earlier. Such attention to detail and caring about their guests. Also, there’s a luggage scale to weigh which is incredibly helpful. Will stay again when I return to Thamel.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Kumari Hotel. I have had an absolutely wonderful experience staying there. It has a fantastic location and importantly it is down a quiet street so you get a very good quiet night sleep! The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are fantastic. Rosie at reception is a credit to the hotel and I am sure she will go very far in her career. The breakfast is great, lots to choose from and the guys serving you are brilliant and will help you with whatever you like. I would truly recommend staying here if you are looking for a great location, quiet night sleep and fantastic breakfast. Most of all the staff are wonderful and will make sure you have a lovely stay I have been fortunate to be able to travel to many places and this is one of the best places I have ever stayed.
