Kitchen was quite spacious, staff was kind and place was kept very clean. Big common area in reception where they also sold beers. Supermarket right in front of the hostel. Bathrooms were clean (but the showers didn't have much pressure
Location is a little bit far from the center, but for the price is worthy, and with bikes it's easy to cycle to the center going through beautiful parks as well.

Dutchies is ten but I gave 9 cause they must be a little modest. In Amsterdam it's one of the best place for stay or should be one say pretty good spot for tourist activity. 1) they have own bike rental and really good bikes 2) hostel has own kitchen and everybody can cook, fridge, microwave 3) close us railway station Sloterdijk and very safety bike line to the city 4) close is Lidl cca 15 mètres 5) very comfortable rooms with beds with lockers 6) location is not so much close and also not so far from city center and to the center u will go through wonderfull Haarlemweg with many houses with old signs 7) modern building and good neighborhood..Sloterdijk lake and also good restaurant in park between Sloterdijk and center 8) friendly receptionist and staff
1) maybe bigger lobby with better tables and more comfy fir dining 2) showers and bathroom need reconstruction and showers are pretty bad or mediocre...maybe look in White toulip hostel how looks good shower or in Meininger

By far my favourite not only in Amsterdam but in Europe. The room was nice and spacious, but most important, very clean. The staff is the best. Especially the lady with the glasses who worked in the morning, she gave me some great recommendations and made it easy for me to travel throughout the city. I like that the hostel is not in the city center. Coming back after a day of exploring the city, it was nice to be in a not so busy neighborhood. The 20 minute tram ride was very easy and it gave me a chance to see more of the city. I’m my trying to tell you what to do here, but you should book here! #DutchiesHostelReviewCompetition
The only thing I didn’t like is that I had to check out and leave this place

Good spacious rooms. Comfortable beds
Not enough hot water for everyone to take a shower. Very limited toilets and shower facilities for so many rooms. Rooms doors very noisy and need repair. In general staff were nice. One particular lady working on the morning of checkout on the 23rd Saturday morning was very rude and sarcastic. I had an huge argument with her because of the kitchen rules. She has got no respect for guests and with that attitude should not be working in the hospitality industry or any face to face customers at all.

Friendly staff is good, every time I've stayed there. Helps being so close to the train station, makes it easy when I have to stay overnight in the city. Locks and towels readily available. Rooms being on the main floor means getting to your bed quickly, great after a long/late flight.
Small things could make things much better. For my room, no individual light/usb outlet at the beds makes it difficult after lights out. The door code buttons seem to be tricky - mostly works, but sometimes I have to do it 2 or 3 times.

Rooms and facilities like the bathrooms were great and always clean. Staff were fantastic and very friendly. Bar in the common area which makes it easy to hang out there and meet people also staying in the hostel.
Rooms were very stuffy and hot. You could only open the window a crack, and the fan in the room didn't help much. It's not the best location. There are trams nearby but they don't run too late, so if you plan on going out at night you have to go to the main train station and half a 15 minute walk from there to the hostel.

-The place was spacious, with nice common spaces, and nights that seem interesting, a nice atmosphere :) -There was a lot of information around and options to know and do in the city. -Quite comfortable beds and spacious room
-The location was a bit remote, however, transportation works perfectly. -Few bathrooms for the number of rooms and the shower is a bit useless, I understand that what you are looking for is to save water, however that could be improved, every time you press it (which is very fast) the water stops coming out. -The cutlery was disgusting with hair and dirty. -The girl at the reception felt a bit tough to ask her for anything :(

It was inexpensive and had a lively atmosphere. The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating.
Though it didn’t bother me particularly, some bathroom doors were broken and hard to open. I advise bringing your own lock if you’re someone that cares about that, since keys provided by the hostel open locks provided to other guests as well. Unlike in some other hostels, the bed was not surrounded by a curtain. None of these are particularly strong negatives, but it might not be for everyone.

We were a group of eight so we booked an 8-bed dorm so we could stay together. We were very late due to delayed flights but the staff were really understanding and calm. Made us feel very welcome when we first arrived and were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I was the bride to be so they gave me and my hens a big fuss! The place was constantly kept clean. There are boxes for you to put the stuff you're not taking (food and toiletries) so other guests can use them and they don't go to waste.
Not the hostel's fault, but our butter got used up even though I wrote our party's name on it. Might have been an honest mistake as there was another butter in there with a different name, same brand and roughly the same amount used. It is a bit far from the city centre, but easy to travel on trams and busses.

Staff were super helpful and informative. The bathroom was empty and clean every time I used it. The foyer chill out area was great to have a break from the hostel room, with heaps of seating.
The room was really hot with no ventilation. The window only opened a tiny bit and there was a fan which only circulated the warm air in the room. The location is a bit out of the way, not easy to get around on foot, would need a bike or tram pass.
