Room: We stayed in a triple room (203), and we were fortunate enough to have a canal view. The room was very spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. And as for the view, it was amazing! We were blown away!! Staff: Every member of the staff was friendly and attentive. You could tell they wanted us to have a great time in their hotel and in Amsterdam. Location: Everything is within walking distance of this hotel (if you don't mind getting the steps in) and if you don't want to walk it, the tram stop for the 4 and 14 is right behind the hotel at and the metro is a 5 min walk away.

This property is a fantastic and unique hotel with decent rooms and an excellent location. It’s next door to an amazing pancake cafe and Irish bar with nearby pubs and supermarkets out the back. Central area was a short walk away but anything needed was close in all directions. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The stairs (which we didn’t need in the end) are incredibly steep and windy but manageable as an able bodied couple. Nothing to complain about :)

We upgraded to a double room from a twin which was well worth the money for the difference and view. Only problem is the double bed was still two mattresses pushed together which, as a couple, wasn’t comfortable.

Beautiful building, real traditional Amsterdam city house, beautiful top floor room with old beams and a great view of the canal from my room. Great shower and comfortable bed, minimal outside Noise because it is not a busy street. 10 minutes walk from the bustling nightlife of De Wallen. It was a great location, lovely, clean building and honestly a great value for money stay

Check in/check out process is quite lengthy, you're shown how to use the door system to get in out of hours which is fair. On check out, the receptionist went upstairs I assume to check the room before I left, which is understandable but no other hotel I've stayed in does this, they had my card details under guarantee after all. The receptionist is perfectly polite however! Listen, the stairs are very steep and narrow... This probably isn't somewhere I'd stay if I struggled to walk, Im quite fit but was out of breath at the top, but It is traditional, narrow and original, so I honestly treated it as part of the experience. .

- Comfortable bed with a beautiful view on the canal - Great location, we can go everywhere by walk - Lovely and kind staff, we had a warm welcome and a warm goodbye - They were very kind to prepare our room before usual check-in time

- The narrow and steep stairs that can be tricky and dangerous for some people (old or sick people) I struggled to get the luggages to my room in the 3rd floor, had to go back and fourth 3 times to get the luggages to our room, same process during check-out... - The price, for a hotel that doesn't provide breakfast, elevator, or at least a special staff to help people with luggages, and with challenging stairs, the price could have been lot cheaper.... - That being said, I'd still come back someday and would still recommend it to friends

-Very well positioned, in the centre of Amsterdam. 20 min walk from central station and also well connected by public transport. -Staff was really kind and helpful. - Everything was clean.

- The room looked a bit smaller and older than the photos we saw on the site initially, but it was clean. - The rooms are not very soundproofed, you can hear doors slamming, people walking and talking pretty clearly. One night, some people above our room we’re arguing/crying for a few hours and we could hear everything making it pretty hard to sleep. And while we understand it is an old building, it was still a bit annoying. Something go keep in mind, i guess.

The staff was really friendly, its a top-notch location - we walked everywhere and did not use public transport which saved us a lot of money. The room was also very clean! There was not a breakfast, but the hotel staff provided us a 10% discount at a near cafe for breakfast. And the best part - the bed was so soft that I wanted to sleep all day and night.

We liked everything. The only thing that bugged us is that it was a little bit darker in the room for our preferences. Also, keep in mind that Dutch people are very tall - I am 165cm. and could not use the magnifying mirror in the bathroom or the peephole at the door. But we found it funny and did not have a problem with that!

We absolutely adored our room at Hotel Amstelzeicht! It was very comfortable, large enough for the three of us, and the bathroom and shower were very clean and functional. With a view to the canal, and proximity to restaurants and shops, this is a perfect place to stay for a visit to Amsterdam. The staff are so friendly and professional, we felt welcomed from the moment we entered.

Be aware that this hotel is right on the street, and if you are bothered by street sounds, bring ear plugs. Additionally, the staircase is steep and slightly winding, so for wide folks, or those with trouble with walking or balance, this hotel would not be best.

A fantastic location for central Amsterdam, close to transit, key tourist sites, many types of restaurants, and a variety of shopping. The hotel is very well kept and the staff, all of whom speak good English, were accommodating and responsive. The views from the canal view room at the top of the hotel were stellar!

The hotel would be nearly perfect if it had breakfast onsite, although breakfast at the nearby cafe with a small discount was lovely. We did wish the stairs (about which we had been warned) were not quite so steep—but those stairs are the cost of staying in a truly historic building right on the Amstel river.

The location of this hotel could not be more perfect. Checking in was incredibly smooth, and appreciated the option of being able to leave your bags on site if you arrive before check-in. I was pleasantly surprised by the room and how much space there was. There was a nice sized bathroom with plenty of towels. Having three beds was comfortable for staying with a group of friends. The hotel helped us book a taxi to the airport, which made leaving for an early flight so much easier. In addition, it was very close to a number of different tram stops, which made navigating the city much easier as well.

The room with three beds is towards the back of the hotel and presses up against an alley, which can get quite loud at night. This is not a huge surprise for being in the middle of the city on a weekend but be prepared for some noise.

I enjoyed the hotel, the location, the views outside the hotel are great. Staff are very friendly and helpful, so definitely would consider returning. Room was clean, bathroom was ok. We were on 2nd floor, so if you have bad knees this won't go well for you. On the plus side, the decor is great, simple and tasteful. Note: get one of the rooms with a view, will be definitely worth it. We didn't and while it wasn't a massive regret, I think seeing the canal outside our window would've made this experience even better.

Beds were very soft, and after sleeping on a firm mattress for years I was excited to try a softer one. First night was okay, but after the second night it became more and more obvious that this doesn't work for me (I also have a pinched nerve in my back). After 3 nights on that mattress, and lots of ibuprofen, I was ready to go back home. Note: this is just my experience, other people might prefer a softer mattress.
