This hotel is absolutely stunning and exceeded our expectations in every way. The historic building is exceptionally charming and well cared for. Beautiful, immaculately clean, and wonderfully cozy, with all the needed amenities for a comfortable stay and more. We enjoyed a good night’s sleep in soft bedding, with a pleasant breeze blowing in through the windows and the soft, distant sounds of laughter and merriment from across the canal. We woke up to beautiful views and appreciated the convenience of being so close to shops and restaurants. Rosa was an incredibly accommodating and kind host who went out of her way to ensure we felt welcome and were well cared for throughout our stay. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking comfortable and charming accommodations near to downtown attractions.

I don’t have a single complaint — everything was thought of and lovely.

We had been on a tour. After the tour, we moved from a busy part of Utrecht to the Hotel Museumkwartier, which is in a lovely quiet and walkable part of town. The hotel is in an old house and is furnished with antiques. Our suite was at the back and overlooked trees and church spires. Our friend's room was at the front and overlooked the canal. Just beautiful. We ordered their wonderful breakfast, which was brought to our suite up the spiral staircase every morning. Upon arrival and departure, the hotel staff cheerfully carried our luggage up and down the staircase, too. This was excellent as we had thrown our backs out just prior to the trip. Although the hotel is furnished with antiques the bathrooms are delightfully modern. Everything was so clean. It was nice to have a kitchen area. The hotel is one block over from a shopping street that has an excellent grocery store, restaurants, and shopping. It was an easy walk over to the museums and the Dom. There are lovely paths along the canals. There were bicycles but only a few at a time. There are a number of pedestrians and some cars and trucks. Very peaceful even though we arrived on the King's birthday! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We were worried about the staircase and it proved not to be an issue. There is no elevator but the staff were so helpful.

The property itself has so much character and it truly felt like an authentic Dutch stay with the winding staircases, the crown molding, chandeliers, and the beautiful canal views. The room was comfortable and also full of character with the most breathtaking view. The location could not have been better, walking distance from everything. Breakfast is served in your room, which adds just another level of personal experience. Loved it! The staff was very friendly, on our first day Sasha greeted us and wished us a happy anniversary. We also received a personalised card and flower chocolates in our room from the owner, which really made a big impact on us. So few places go that extra mile to make your stay special. And it truly did make us feel so welcome! Thank you!

This place is gorgeous - well renovated and modern but keeping the old beams, history and character, cosily decorated with lovely antique style furnishings. My wife loved the old books and read one during our stay. Right on the canal in the old town, it is a short walk to explore the beautiful surroundings. The bathroom is small but functional. The staff were great and allowed us to store a large item during our stay, and even offered to carry my wife's suitcase down as we were leaving!

The only (tiny) downside is that the stairs up to the 2 single beds are a little tricky if you need to go to the toilet in the middle of the night.

Nice suite which worked well for a 'dad and daughter' stay. Furnishings are old/classic but with a modern bath/shower-room. There was a fridge, hot-plate and a few utensils plus a kettle and coffee-maker with tea bags and coffee pods supplied. Breakfast (which we didn't have) looked and smelled delicious - a tray brought to the room with fresh juice, croissants and eggs. The location is ideal if you are happy to walk and cycle around the city - lots of nice shops/sights to see very close-by. Small well-stocked supermarket on the other side of the canal.

Only issue which might be relevant for some is a VERY steep set of stairs to the upper floors - a bit of care is needed - and assistance from staff (which was available) to carry bags would be advised.

We stayed in the room on the first floor, with a view of the canal. The room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, albeit small (that's to be expected and harder to find).

While the room was even better than expected, the coridor inside the hotel wasn't renovated and quite old, unkept, dirty. At the end of the corridor the door led to an inside "garden" that was unkept and dirty. For the price we would expect a tidier interior and check in space.

Room was good with a lovely view of the canal. The property was in a quiet location but with easy access to the city. Breakfast was very good, and staff catered for individual requirements. Having it delivered to the room was especially good. Although a bit small the room was very clean and had all the facilities required. The room would suit two people who weren't planning on spending lots of time in the room. Utrecht is a great place to visit with lots to do and is well located to explore other cities.

A room safe would be a good additional so valuables could be left. Although not an issue for us the spiral staircase is steep.

I had the studio, which has a small kitchenette, which was great for not having to go out every day for dinner (as I stayed five days). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I had to do the "early breakfast" as I had to leave for work before eight in the morning, which meant they brought whatever I ordered to my fridge during the afternoon (I never thought it would be possible to get a daily avocado ;)) The rooms are enchanting if you like something special and from the studio you look directly on the gracht. Thanks again to the great staff! I had a wonderful time.

The only thing you should know is that in the studio you can´t open the windows in the room, but only in the bathroom. I don´t know about the other rooms.

It's a characterful old canalside house and our room overlooked the canal. It was very quiet and restful, with no traffic passing by. It was lovely to wake up to the canal view and have a delicious breakfast sitting by the window in our room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the old city of Utrecht, which is peaceful and untouristy, and picturesque. We stayed here and travelled into Amsterdam, only 25 minutes by train. Highly recommended!

The water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but that's all.

First of all, this is a charming hotel in a wonderful location on a canal. For one night we had the large family room with the garret, and it was so nice (though steep steps!). The room was large and sunny. For the other nights, we had a very nice large twin room. Bathrooms were very nice in both rooms - lovely, fluffy towels. Linens were very cozy. Every morning, a large silver tray of delicious breakfast items was delivered to our room: eggs, croissants, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a very nice selection of jams, etc. The room has a Nespresso coffee maker and electric kettle with plenty of coffees and teas (and chocolates!). There were plenty of outlets for charging electronics. The rooms are very eclectically decorated with crystal chandeliers, antiques, groupings of vintage photos - very nice homey feeling - totally unlike a regular hotel room! Lovely staff!! They made us feel very welcome and helped us with directions, etc. Plus, they have the most delicious goodies in the lobby!

It wasn't much of a problem for us (in our 70s) but there isn't an elevator (we knew this beforehand). The staff helped with our suitcases when we arrived and would have when we left but we didn't bother them as we had to leave very early. They did offer to bring breakfast and help with luggage, we declined. Only one issue, we had a problem contacting them the night before we left, ringing the lobby bell several times in an hour and calling. If we had been locked out, it would have been a problem with no one answering within a reasonable time. Other times they answered and we were informed one morning when our breakfast was to be late - by only 20 minutes! Very nice.
