Great small boutique hotel at the fringe of the historic walking district of Utrecht. The rooms were somewhat small, but very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was an individually portioned buffet type breakfast presented on a board for each guest. This was more than sufficient and very good.Staff was always available and very accommodating.

Due to the building constraints, there is really no lobby and very little public sitting area. This does pose a problem if arriving early and not having plans. The hotel staff per se does not have a good suggestion for customers in this situation. We were able to locate a coffee shop across the small plaza where we could plan our day. It was disappointing that the hotel had no public sitting space for us to do this. We may look for other accommodations for a follow up visit to Utrecht due to this situation. A possible resolution would be for them to open the breakfast room as a lounge/sitting area during the day for guests.

The staff are great, welcoming and always smiling! The location is brilliant on a lovely square where you can sit and watch the world go by. Additionally, everything is within a few minutes' walking distance eg shopping, restaurants and great places to have a caffe latte, a train station and boats for a lovely toot along the canal...what more do you need?

The overhead shower had very little pressure so the water dribbled out. There were no instructions on how to use the aircon so thankfully with great wifi our friend Google was able to assist! It would have been nice to be asked which of the breakfast items I wanted or not - however, I have to say the breakfast is really lovely.

My room had floor to ceiling windows looking out over the square. Location is very good, the hotel tries hard for and achieves a "cool" attitude, and the actual rooms/furniture/etc. were of very high quality.

You need to book a time slot for the breakfast, and they prepare a single standard breakfast for everyone, which is not as convenient as a buffet where you could choose what food you prefer. The provided food was good, the facilities were nice, but the overall user experience is not in line with the premium price in my opinion. There wasn't a desk to work at, only a small round table.

What's really good is that the employees were perfectly polite and sweet, they didn't forget that it was my birthday and they gave me chocolates as a gift. You should definitely stay at this hotel

The location was absolutely perfect! Within walking distance of everything! The canals, shopping, restaurants, mall, train station ... I could not have picked any better. The room and bedding were excellent and all of the staff, in particular, Lauraine, were so very accommodating and helpful. Could not recommend them enough!!!

The bathroom counter space was a little small especially for me who travels with a large cosmetic bag but that is a pet peeve and in no way should detract from my stay! Loved The Hunfeld and would definitely recommend!

The style of the hotel was really different but special. Had a very unique vibe and the location is just perfect! It's near the main station, in the city center and also near the Jaarbeurs. I'm pretty sure I'll come here again if I ever will come to Utrecht again :-)

The location in general was great but there's a church nearby and for some reason unfortunately the bell rings also at nights pretty often... Everyone with a light sleep like me will have a problem but that's the only thing I disliked (apparently it's normal there though).

Everything. I didn't eat the breakfast, but I'm pretty sure it would be amazing. The staff were all friendly and more than happy to help with any questions. The room facilities: the art, the interior details, the marshall speaker, the practical bright and dim light for day/night use. So straight forward and easy to settle in and relax and/or work. The location: Mariaplaats is the best area to start to explore, find yourself, lose yourself, enjoy and soak up the beauty and ease of Dutch and distinctly Utrecht life.

Staff were friendly and helpful and provided us with useful information when we arrived to help us start exploring the city. Our room was lovely - clean, of a good size and had everything we needed for our stay. The location of the hotel is excellent, very central and within a very pleasant square where there are bars and cafes. It is close to the train station also.

There is nothing we found on our visit that we didn't like.

This is one of the most comfortable and friendliest places I ever stayed in. My room had ample space, I liked the vintage appliances in the shower and on the handbasin, and an absolutely fantastic idea is the little board they serve the breakfast on and bring to your table.So you can have a very comfortable breakfast, looking out at Mariaplaats waking up. The extremely friendly staff always have time for a conversation. Utrecht is a walking-friendly city, in the evening actually quite romantic, with nice cafes and restaurants to hang out - my favorite one very quickly became the Louis Hartlooper Complex, for snacks and a beer. The hotel is also ideally located, between the station Utrecht Centraal and the binnenstad.

We really liked the Hunfeld. The staff was very nice and helpful and Hunfeld is located in the best location. We ordered a big room, and it was really big (306). It had a sitting corner, a very comfortable bed, great shower, perfect coffee and tea maker, a safe, and a nice atmosphere. We will stay here again!

The only thing to complain about, if I must, was that there was no closet for clothes. It had a place to hang shirts but no space to lay clothes. We didn’t mind for 2 nights (I used the tables), but if you stay longer?
