The Ferry B & B is an immaculately presented accommodation in a quiet, rural, riverside setting, three or four miles outside of Queenstown. We were warmly welcomed by Dan, the host, upon our arrival. He provided lots of great information about the area and tips for places to see or eat at. We stayed in a spotlessly clean room with a very comfortable bed and facilities. Breakfast was excellent. There was a great choice of cereals, fruit and drinks along with freshly cooked-to-order options by Mitzi. A freshly baked "cake of the day" was waiting for us at the end of the day to have with the hot drink of your choice that you could make in the kitchen. Dan and Mitzi were brilliant hosts and we thoroughly recommend the Ferry B & B.

Loved breakfast every morning cooked by Mitzi and served by Dan. Felt like being in a 5 star restaurant. The little extras like the home baked daily treat in the kitchen for everyone and the chocolate/lilac on the pillows each day was so lovely. Also great that they have a kitchen that you can use if you need to cook a meal or make a coffee and washer and dryer also. Plus the fireplace in the guest lounge room was warm and welcoming each night. The house itself is 150 years old having been a hotel back in the day so lots of history there and Dan and Mitzi have done an outstanding job in decorating the house with that old world charm. The minute you arrive and see the lovely wisteria draped over the verandah and the beautiful garden and lawn you can't wait to see inside and it doesn't disappoint. Loved the big comfy bed also and the gorgeous white linen. The 2 luggage stands instead of the usual one was good also for both our bags and made the room a lot tidier. With welcoming hosts like Dan and Mitzi this really was a home away from home.

Initially I wasn't keen that there was no TV in the room but there is a small one in the guest lounge (cleverly hidden ! Nice one Dan). But I can see now that was a good thing as it really brought the guests together and conversations and friendships were made. None of which would have happened if we'd been watching TV in our rooms. So I'm grateful for that.

Our 3 nights at The Ferry B&B were nothing but perfect. The accomodation is lovely, in a quiet and amazing area, steps away from the Historic Bridge. The bedroom is so well decorated and looked after that takes away your breath when you open the door. It is sparkling clean, with every single detail to make your stay feels like home. Then comes the breakfast, and believe me, you will feel like being in a real cafe, with hot and fresh meals prepared by lovely Mitzi and served by Dan. These guys go beyond hospitality to make this place a perfect stay. My wife and I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a 10 out of 10 accomodation. Thank you Mitzi and Dan

We unfortunately only stayed for two nights as we were passing through. If we had known beforehand how wonderful the Fairy Hotel is, we would definitely have stayed longer. We actually chose the B&B originally only because of the good reviews and because Laura's grandma was also called Mitzi and we thought that was a good sign. So much attention to detail - you can see how much effort has gone into everything and with how much care everything has been selected. Anyone who still finds something to complain about here can't be helped. Very clean, very nice contact with the hosts and a fantastic breakfast. To anyone planning to come here: plan a few more days, you won't be disappointed. You feel so very comfortable in all the public rooms. 1000-thanks Mitzi and Dan!

Every part of our stay was amazing,we have¹ never stayed in a cleaner room.The decor lovely,the linen crisp and fresh the comfort of the bed superb .Bathroom amenities spot on,fluffy towels& robes. Breakfast a credit to Mitzi & Dan with home baked bread,home made preserves,local honey,home made yoghurt,home laid eggs and all the trimmings..delicious ( we didn't need to eat again til evening 😀) We stayed before our road trip and again after and will recommend to all and sundry ,definitely return ourselves. Such a delight ,thankyou heartily Mitzi & Dan.

Not a long enough stay 😪

The Ferry I’d be extremely happy to return to !! It was charming & clean & comfortable to an exceptional standard. The owners were helpful & polite & the breakfasts outstanding. It was like coming home ! The location was perfect for picnics on the Shotover river or trips into Queentown. We miss the fluffy towels & treats on our bed & fresh cakes in the kitchen. Cleaning was daily !! Wonderful traditional house full of charm, live & character !!

I can’t think of anything !!

We had a wonderful stay at The Ferry Bed and Breakfast, such a warm welcome from Dan on arrival, telling us about the area, made us a cup of tea with homemade flapjacks! Our room was very clean, comfortable bed, great shower. Breakfast was wonderful, and really set us up for the day. Great choice of cereals,homemade yogurt and bread. Excellent cooked choice, and all freshly cooked to order by Mitzi. Would thoroughly recommend The Ferry Bed and Breakfast.

Absolutely nothing!

Every single thing about this delightful B&B is exceptional, particularly the hosts Dan and Mitzi who seem to know everything about the area and give great advice. A period property bedecked with roses, and wonderfully maintained with three amazing comfortable rooms. It's just far enough from the madness of Queenstown to get perfect quiet, but close enough to visit easily.

There is literally nothing that you could fault with this B&B. Simply one of the best places I have ever stayed.

we appreciated all the attention to communicating the history of this historic property. The decor was charming, right down to fresh roses on the pillows. One host helped us make an evening fire in the stove and the other host baked us a delectable Pavlova! They decorated for Christmas!

we loved this property, adjacent to the historic Shotover Bridge and in a hotel dating from 1872! Their landscaping, especially the roses, is lovely and carefully maintained.

Quality breakfast made to order. Home baked bread, even gluten free, Aoraki salmon, local honey. Couldn't fault them. Both hosts lovely to chat with and knew heaps about local things to do. Made us feel right at home. They also had a daily treat (like Anzac biscuits), a Guinea pig hutch, and lots of chickens. First thing they did when we did was sit us down for tea as if an old friend had dropped in for a visit. Effort was well and truly above what I expected.
