rooms are good size, has a coffee table and two lounge chairs that looked out over the grounds. Bathroom was okay, my only issue here was the shower, there was no instructions on how to use the shower itself and each time I tried I could either have the water freezing cold or scalding hot, there was no middle, so I had to have a bath each night instead of a shower. There are no televisions in the rooms, not a problem for myself, proper wooden coat hangers which was a bonus to hang my clothes up.
Apart from not mastering how to use the shower, the only thing I would suggest adding to the room is a full length mirror.

Friendly, helpful staff. We really appreciated the efforts around sustainability and the sourcing of local skills, materials and produce. Lovely restaurant and bar and also the availability of things like drying rooms for the ski season.
Parking was a bit tight for staying guests. It was a popular spot with visitors and restaurant goers and we had to park up the road a few times.

Second time I have stayed at Sherwood, and it continued to be a great base to see Queenstown. Room was spacious and well appointed, staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was great for dinner (need to book). Bus stop to Queenstown, Arrowtown, Lake Hayes and the Skibus (etc) is out the front (down a slope) which was very convenient - as this place isn't in central Queenstown, you get to see stars at night, and it's very quiet in the evenings.
Free milk (cow, oat) is available at reception, however in smaller containers -it would be good to be able to get larger milks containers for breakfast :) Extremely minor though as you can always ask for additional milk.

Sustainability but still with many of the creature comforts of a traditional hotel. The restaurant was incredible - we could have eaten there for breakfast and dinner every day! The room was very spacious and provided a lot of places to store clothes and baths. The staff and facilities made it such a relaxed and calming stay.
The bathrooms are a little outdated, but they are still entirely functional. The rooms are not entirely soundproof either. There wasn’t really a communal area where families could gather and play games by the fire (without having to order food and drinks from the restaurant).

Often stay here and the standard is always good. Love the vibe at the Sherwood, relaxed, thoughtful, very comfortable. Rooms are spacious. Location is great, easy 30min walk to town and very close to local bus services. Free onsite parking and excellent wi-fi. The restaurant is an absolute favourite, and the property often has good local events scheduled. Enjoy and frequently use the yoga classes and on-site sauna.
Have had to followup with housekeeping a few times during the last couple of stays, just minor things like the room very much needing a vacuum after multiple days, towels being taken but not replaced. Promptly addressed when brought to their attention - thank you - just feels a bit awkward having to ask.

The facilities are great, loved the outdoor campfire which we had a few glasses of red wine by and the restaurants food was exceptional.
We were staying for 9 days and had to prompt the staff to service our room daily and provide fresh linen even though it said this would usually be done in the “room manual”. The staff on some occasions would come to service our room at 5pm which seemed late and an inconvenient time. We paid extra for a lake view but our view was obstructed by a few trees which made our room quite dark. Some of the staff were more hospitable than others.

Liked the location and the concept. It was great to be just a little out of town as traffic in town was pretty busy! The eco concept was delivered well and thought has clearly been given to execution. Restaurant and shared spaces were comfortable and relaxing. The touches in the room to communicate the decisions made and the thought on each aspect were appreciated and added to the experience. It was a beautiful outlook from our lake view room.
The bed was tired and the mattress soft and sagging. Having beds on wheels on polished concrete wasn’t super comfortable either as they move around as you are getting in and out of bed. Also, be aware that the nature of the property means it’s not particularly sound proof. When your neighbours have to checkout early, you’ll likely know about it.

Located far from the city and road, so this is a quiet hotel to stay at. There were enough car parking spaces and we were lucky we never had a problem with that at any time. The room had the best blinds we found in New Zealand, so you don't have to wake up at 5AM when the sun rises. Also, the bed and pillows were super comfortable for us. The location is good, just between Queenstown and the commercial area.
Although the hotel has some vibe of "industrial design" the bathroom are just old, although they worked correctly. Regulating the shower temperature was very difficult, finding the right temperature between water being very cold and very hot was almost impossible. The restaurant was ok-ish, they have nice service but the food was, in overall, average. There is a car exit from the hotel that is right on a downhill turn, and you have to be very careful with the traffic. A mirror could help there.

Comfortable and clean rooms and beds. Linen clean and fresh. Kitchen has everything you need, no exhaust so best to make a meal with low odors. Free sauna you could book during the stay. Best thing is there is no TV, so you can be technology free. But if required, can request for iPad or Projector from reception to entertain kids. Had fun playing Table tennis with kids too. Loved the radio that played soft music in the master bedroom, lovely and calming aura.
One unpleasant experience we had is that we got billed for some Tote bags that we didn't see or take from the room. Apparently they keep a Sherwood tote bag in every room for people to use during the stay it seems. We didn't have one in our room. It's for courtesy use, but if we choose to keep it, we will be billed $50 for it or something. Just an unfortunate misunderstanding and we got refunded for it, but an unpleasant experience for such a great stay. my advise to the office is to check with customer if they have chosen to take it before billing them.

I loved the restaurant and the rooms were really nice and tidy and comfortable. The manager from Argentina was absolutely wonderful and so helpful. Loved that you could fill up a bottle of wine on tap for a discount such a coool idea. Also loved being able to walk along the lake to town it’s 5km but great if you want some morning exercise in either direction. It was really quiet even though busy.
Took all day for them to service our room on the second day so we opted not to after returning back at 3pm and still not done. No big deal but a little annoying.
