The room was spacious and clean. We had a big balcony overlooking the pool and the beach.

I didn’t like the loud noise of chairs being dragged above my head in the upper floor. People stayed awake till late and they were doing a lot of noise. In the morning the cleaners were doing the same noise, it was disturbing. I’d like to recommend that the hotel protects all chairs with felt pads. This simple and cheap solution would avoid the great noise.

The location was excellent, just out of town and we had a fabulous view of the beach and the harbour from our corner 1 bedroom apartment with 2 balconies. The whole place was immaculately clean. From check in to leaving all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, booking boat trips and even finding the England match for us on the TV in the lounge area as it had a wider selection of cable channels. Food is available at the bar- excellent hamburgers etc. 2 fridges with small ice boxes (take your own ice cube bags) in the kitchen with 2 electric rings and a kettle and toaster-plenty for light meals, rather than self catering for a family for an extended period. The pillows were lovely and soft and it was very quiet at night with just the sound of the surf and a cockerel (from the balcony), external sound proofing good. The heating ( and so presumably a/c) worked. We had specifically asked for top floor, which we got, as I know that with tiled floors furniture movement on the floor above can be noisy.

The single beds were rather firm (personal preference), and couldn't be joined together which won't suit everyone. The local restaurants had early closing/erratic opening which was disappointing, but not a reflection on the hotel.

The staff were fab - friendly and helpful. The hotel and our accommodation were super clean, the beds were comfortable, and the apartment was spacious enough for three friends to share. Initially, we intended on making our own breakfast in the apartment but ended up buying breakfast every day as the selection and the quality of food was so good. Gorgeous views over Meia Praia beach, quiet and very safe location. About a 30-minute walk along the boardwalk to get to Lagos centre, but an Uber only cost around 4 euros so is also an easy option. There's a restaurant on the beachfront about a 3-minute walk from the hotel, and you can buy drinks and some meals, such as pizzas and toasties, at the reception. The nearest supermarket we found was a 25-minute walk away, but this wasn't a problem for us as we stocked up and caught an Uber back to the hotel. The swimming pool was lovely with plenty of sun loungers and space nearby to sunbathe. So happy we chose to stay at Dom Pedro - would definitely recommend it.

The only negative I can think of is that there was sometimes a damp smell in the bathroom. I think this may be due to the drainage in the area, or potentially because there weren't any windows or fans in the bathroom. However, the smell comes and goes and didn't really bother us. Was definitely not a cleanliness issue as the rooms and hotel were spotless and obviously very well maintained.

For those who don't need to be in the centre, it's a really great location close to a beautiful wide sandy beach that you can look out onto from the balcony of your room. There is a swimming pool at the hotel in a pleasant setting under the palm trees. Comfortable beds in the room. The staff was very helpful. Free parking at the hotel.

A minor shortcoming, which did not affect our rating of the hotel - in front of the hotel the smooth asphalt road passes on a short stretch to the stone cobbles and thus during the day are heard passing cars, which may bother someone when lying by the pool. At night the frequency of passing cars is minimal, so the place can be considered quiet.

The stay at Don Pedro was amazing! The only thing I didn’t like about it was that we didn’t stay there longer! The room was huge, like an entire apartment, with a kitchen and a balcony overlooking the ocean. The property is literally across the street from the beach. The town is an easy 30 minute walk from the property, which means you can enjoy the town but have some quiet and relaxing time away from it when you’re at this property. They had a decent breakfast, although we came toward the end, so it may have been more extensive earlier. They had fruit, meats, cheeses, eggs, many types of bread and pastries, coffee… everything you could want from a hotel breakfast. I would highly recommend staying here!

Breakfast was delicious and the location was fantastic. Loved being able to eat breakfast while looking over the ocean. Plus a convenient spot to explore Algarve. And I love walking across one street to a beautiful, quiet beach. Perfect beach vacation, wish we could have stayed even longer.

We had two rooms and the internet in one was very weak which made for a couple grumpy teens, but the in the other room it worked perfectly. They got over it.

This is a very sturdy building — all walls, floors, etc., are poured concrete. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore. The property is well maintained, although the room furnishings are a bit dated. Great buffet breakfast. Good bed — I had seven nights of solid sleep. I paid extra for the lovely ocean view. My room was basically two rooms, LR plus BR. Also a nice kitchen and a balcony across both the LR and BR. Little street traffic in January.

The property is across the street from the ocean and it’s a pretty long hike to the beach. And the beach is not one of the attractive Algarve beaches. If being right on the beach is important, then this isn’t the place for you.

I liked the fact that you could do your own thing, when it suited you. We ate out for breakfast at Pingo Doce where the food was amazing, staff very friendly and within walking distance of the hotel, it’s also a supermarket, so we picked up a few things for the rest of the day. Hotel was perfect, amazing what they can fit into a small space and have loads of room. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and always on hand to help if required. Outside the hotel was places to sun yourself and a pool which looked amazing.

Not staying long enough :(

I stayed 3 days and 2 nights; it was a great stay. The accommodation is well organized, very clean, there is a lot of space and the facilities are very functional. The location is wonderful, you can see the sunrise on the ocean from the terrace and there is access to the beach right in front of the hotel. The staff is incredibly welcoming: special mention to Angelica and Catarina for their superb energy, do not change anything! Thank you Dom Pedro Lagos and see you soon!

I can sleep everywhere, I am not difficult. However, for this type of standing, I confess that I expected better bed. In my room, it was not a large double bed, but two single beds, and not in super good condition... The two moved apart when you get in the middle. Also, the terrace is incredible, but there are tons of birds that come to bother you in the morning. For my part, it was a pleasure, I love nature and animals, but for people who may be afraid of it (because there are sooo many!), maybe the staff should try to do something, even though I know that these are things of nature we do not control. But those are not big problem, so I stay with 10! :)

the room was quite spacious and kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The pool was wonderful and the beach was just a short walk away. The property is a 3 min drive away from Lagos city centre. The closest grocery store was 2 minutes drive away. There is a small cafeteria in the hotel by the pool and some restaurants at walking distance. We stayed for 8 nights and the room was cleaned each day. The reception staff was helpful and courteous. The stay was quite comfortable and relaxing.

If you don't have a car, it might seem a bit far from the city centre (20 min walk), but is easily accessible. Overall we had a pleasant stay so don't have much negative to stay.
