The location was perfect and the staff very kind and ready to help! The rooms and the building itself was exceptional, so was also the views (from the bar, the restaurant and my room also). Everything was so good that they make me think that it is the only hotel to go to when I want to visit LIsbon again.

There was an unfortunate incident with the electronics of my room, but the staff handled it best way possible. Even this made me feel very confident for my choice, because unfortunate things might happen to everyone, the thing that matters the most is how you handle them, and they handled it perfectly!

Everything! Beautiful room - twin with balcony. Excellent soundproofing for when we wanted to shut out noise of square in front but I loved to listen and watch during the day. Beds so comfortable, stunning bathroom with superb shower and all products were Le Labo! Bathrobes so pretty I purchased one to bring home! Location absolutely perfect- near many of our top choice restaurants and 30metres from the 28 tram. Stunning mezzanine area with lots of places to sit and meet and enjoy a coffee or drink. Staff always so helpful, arranged a car hire for us. Always a lovely friendly atmosphere at reception. I became very unwell during my stay, hotel staff were so kind, arranged a doctor for me, checked in on me regularly asking if they could do anything for me. I will definitely return to Lisbon soon and this hotel is where you’ll find me!

Zero - adored everything about this beautiful hotel

A superb hotel located in 'old' Lisbon. We could walk everywhere and the famous no. 28 tram was just outside the front door. Our room was gorgeous and was located in a quiet part of the hotel. The hotel has a highly regarded restaurant and the rooftop area was wonderful with stunning views over Lisbon. Full service breakfasts (again with stunning views) were delicious and a refreshing change from the standard buffet style offered by many large hotels. A wonderful stay and highly recommended.

Very good location. Tram, bus, underground near to the hotel. We could also walk to the main attraction. Close to many restaurants, sea etc. The hotel was amazing. Very clean, comfortable. The breakfasts on the fifth floor with the amazing view on sea, bridge were unique. On the sixth floor we can drink a wine and have the same amazing view as on the fifth floor. I recommend visiting this part of the hotel, especially at night. The view is incredible. Very nice and helpful staff. I will come back to this hotel as soon as possible :)

No swimming pool.

I used to visit lisbon on a regular basis and always enjoyed staying at your hotel. It is the first time I came back to Lisbon since the hotel was refurbished- pleasantly surprised by the higher quality

Staff was excellent except on one occasion when, at the end of the afternoon, i tried to open the door of my room (which I had done twice on the same morning) but my key was not functioning or had been deactivated. When I explained the situation to a lady at the reception, she strangely explained me that it was my fault because I didn’t know how to use the key (obviously I am not very smart) even if I argued twice that I had opened successfully the same door twice, after breakfast on the terrace and after a phone call in your lounge downstairs. Anyhow a small detail anyway

Staff at breakfast inexperienced and young and would first take the order from the man in the group and would always hand plates to one person at the far end of the table by crossing over someone else’s plate instead of walking around the table. A basic training would be useful. Electricity on room ( eg opening curtains) did not work optimally

Bairro Alto Hotel is absolutely outstanding. Everything about it exceeded our expectations—from the warm and friendly staff to the impeccable room comfort and thoughtful details. The breakfast was simply amazing and a highlight of our stay. The location is unbeatable and truly elevated our experience in Lisbon, making it even more memorable. This hotel sets the bar high, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Wonderful experience. Great, clean rooms, lovely facilities (especially BAHR), and friendly, efficient staff, especially Nicholau at reception and Caroline in the restaurant. Very good English speakers. Lots of little touches made the stay pleasant and memorable.

We were surprised by Eduardo at reception asking for a tip "for the reception" during the check-out process. I've not had that request at similar hotels before, even in the USA, so it took me by surprise in Portugal. I suggest removing that step from the process, as it seemed out of place and a little trashy.

The hotel is located right in the middle of everything you want to see in Lisbon. The staff are superlative. The restaurant and food in general were very, very good. We had just checked out of a four seasons, hotel stay and were very pleased with the Bairro Alto.

The junior suite that we had did not have a view. Otherwise, I can find no fault at all.
