Absolutely loved the hotel! The location is perfect, very close to everything. The sound proofing of the windows is great, there is no noise coming in from the street at night. We didn't hear any noise from the other rooms either. The room was super clean and they were cleaning and changing the towels daily. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The mattress was very comfortable! One of the best mattresses in a hotel. I absolutely recommend it!

Fantastic view, friendly and helpful staff, fab decor, great central location.

We chose the top floor so the trade off is that the shower is quite low. But it is totally worth it for that view! :)

An historic building in a great location in a convenient, centrally-located, lively and lovely neighborhood. Our room had a great view from the small balcony. That said,

We were told that the building had no elevator; we mentioned we were traveling for 10 weeks and had heavy bags, would like a nice room with balcony. We arrived in the evening and were given a room on the 6th floor. So we had to drag our heavy bags up 6 flights, and then again down when we left. Not fun. Our room was essentially a chambre de bonne, cute but smallish, with irregular ceilings. No closet, no where to hang clothes. We barely stand up in the bathroom with the slanted ceiling (I stored my bags in there), and had to be extremely careful when getting off the toilet (!!!) Neither of us could stand up straight in the shower.

This would have to be the best location in the densely packed central city of Lisbon to stay. A short walk to the metro and to stations that take you to Sintra and Cascais and the tram to Belem and the famous 28 tram is around the corner. There is also a supermarket around the corner. There are fabulous bars and eateries within walking distance and just up the hill we found a small public park with great views over Lisbon’s river and bridges great to watch the sunset. Our room 204 was the quietest room in a month of travel and more than met our needs. The bed was comfortable and water hot and strong. The staff were delightful and helpful (thanks Isabella) and your lovely young staff all fluent in English and more than happy to help. We will not hesitate to recommend this to our family and friends and it offered great value to a beleaguered Aussie dollar which is almost halved by the stronger Euro.

Balcony and the view were nice. Good to have a mini fridge and a place to hang clothes. The location was close to some sights, restaurants, and metro. I could use a plug without unplugging a lamp. The stairs were not bad, but be aware that this is a walk-up. Great to have a lobby and staff available. Nice kettle with pour over coffee!

Lighting in the room was dim, and one light had a red shade making the light red. The bed was good, but other furniture was rickety and hard to use for storage of belongings. It was hard to make coffee or tea on top of the fridge underneath hanging clothes.

We had room 407 ( inner courtyard room) which is 5 flights of stairs up since Lisbon's older 1800's buildings do not have space for an elevator. The floors on this building are 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 4 (the top). We liked the central location (somewhat touristy area) on a quiet street, which is a little dark at night. It is near many restaurants on adjoining streets. Nice modern clean room and has A/C if needed. Use UBER from airport to hotel. We used a taxi at two different times from the airport to the hotel and were cheated twice. NEVER AGAIN! The first time the fare showed 13,90 and the driver at the push of a button changed it to 25,00 Euros once we were at the hotel. The second time the drive changed the fare from 11,90 to 18,00 Euros also at the push of a button. Both taxi meters appeared to operate correctly until the drivers magically changed the fare at the push of a button. We are in the process of making a formal complaint with the airport security police.

Room 407 is 5 flights of stairs up, no elevator. This building starts at 0 on the ground floor and it has two #1 levels. BEWARE the cheater ripoff taxi cabs from the airport to the central city. Some guidebooks warn about this. Best to use UBER. Even though we checked that the meter was on fare level 1 and that it worked correctly, the drive at the press of a button changed out 13,90 fare to 25,00 Euros at our destination. NEVER AGAIN! Lisbon should adopt a fixed taxi fare from the airport to the central city similar to what many world cities have done to eliminate cheating.

We loved our stay at Chiado44. The women at the reception desk were so kind and friendly, they offered us recommendations of places to visit as well as tips for getting around Lisbon. They even helped us carry our heavy bag up to the room when we arrived. Our room was very comfortable, and it had a beautiful view. Also, the location was great! Just one block from the metro station and very close to lots of shops, museums, and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again and we recommend it to others!

Chiado 44 was very well located in the Chiado neighborhood (10 minute walk from the metro station). The room we stayed in was quiet and comfortable, which made it easy to have a good night sleep. It seems recently refurbished, which gave it a cozy feel. The staff was friendly and kind.

The only real inconvenient we had with our stay had to do with our room's shower. It was impossible to shower without the water coming out and wetting/splashing the floor. We had to use more than one towel to dry it up, which basically was uncomfortable Keeping in mind that the price for this room was more than fair, this small "inconvenience" should be resolved.

The location, view, and service were unbeatable! We were right in the middle of everything, especially the night life which was a plus. The view from our room was absolutely beautiful, and the staff was extremely kind and helpful! The AC in the room worked great and the staff even left us with a nice note and a water jug, which was so appreciated!

This hotel doesn't have an elevator (which they were very upfront about when we booked so this wasn't a surprise) so going to and from got a little tiring, but the staff carried our luggage up and down the stairs which made it so much easier! The only other negative was the ceiling in our bathroom was slanted and was very low, so we hit our head on it several times even though we aren't very tall (5'6"). Otherwise it was great!

The location, the room was bright, inviting

The stairs were quite a lot. We were on the 4th floor. Room was very tight. Probably better for one person
