All the staff was pretty helpful and gave clear directions for the check in, since we were arriving after the reception hours. The location was ideal, pretty close to the city centre and the actual road to the hotel was easy to walk. The roon was clean and the bathroom quite spacious!

Since the building is old, noise is a bit of a problem. Wooden doors abd floors don't provide any soundproofing and we could hear all the other visitors entering and exiting their rooms. Also, maybe some shampoo and body wash would be nice in the bathroom. Lastly, we stayed there for 5 nights and maybe a change of linen/bedsheets/towels would be good at least for once during our stay.

Susana is a SUPER host! We went to her apartment with a baby and she was really kind and ready to help us in every situation. In the common area there was all the stuff to cook (kettle for tea, coffee machine, pots), moreover Susana brought also a blender to prepare food for my daughter. The room was warm and clean, and the lady who prepared it was SUPER nice too. We found a cot, sheets, towel and blanket for the little one as well. The area is safe and quiet, in the city centre. Everything was excellent and Portuguese people where the cherry on top! Thank you from the bottom of our heart!

Everything perfect

Great location, very close to a metro, you have an Aldi nearby and other smaller shops. The room was comfy, a bit of an inconvenience to go to the bathroom which is outside of the room, but we were aware of that. Everything was very clean, the kitchen well equipped with free coffee. An added bonus is the Casa da Comarca do Arganil right below, I think everyone should visit them.

Some kind of a closet to put your clothes would be nice. The beds were comfy but squeaky. You get some noise from the street and other tenants but you should be aware of that, it's a hostel in an old building. No shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom.

We really like the area where Lisbon Calling Rooms & Studio are located. The building is an old style, and inside there are historical features preserved. The room was exactly as pictured, lots of cute details. We liked the bathroom with a window, a good shower cabin. In the shared kitchen you can use a refrigerator (there is a separate shelf for each room), a lot of different dishes, coffee, sugar, even olive oil and other spices are freely available.

We didn't immediately figure out which doors belonged to the "Rooms and Studio", but that was more likely our inattention. Our worries about noise were unfounded - we were lucky with our neighbors, everyone was quiet and didn't cause any inconvenience.

The room was on the 2nd floor. It was clean and it was the one in the picture above. Modern ensuite shower room and towels were provided. There was a communal kitchen that the host, Vera advised we could use but we chose not to and ate out locally. Vera was very informative and also let us check in early. It is near the metro line. There is a shortcut down the escalator at the left side of Gucci. You go down the escalator head straight ahead and to the right and you will be in Aldi. Go out of the exit at Aldi and make a right and the road is the second on the left. This shortcut is only between 9 am and 9 pm when the shops are open. It is uphill and the roads are very narrow. This is a one-way street so cars come down the hill only. As with all of Lisbon, we didn't work out when the pedestrian has the right of way even at crossings as cars turning left still turn. Would stay there again. We also recommend the yellow bus tour as the ticket includes the funiculars and the yellow trams. We got the 48-hour ticket and did Belam one day and the Modern tour the next. This is a hop-on hop-off tour so your travel locally is covered for 2 days too.

I would have loved a lift but that is a personal choice. These are older buildings so I expect rooms would have to be removed to fit one then the accommodation would not be as cheap. Didnt remember to bring shower gel and this isn't provided but there are pharmacies and an Aldi locally.

Breakfast advertised but no longer offered. A failure to update the details correctly and a minor niggle

I stayed in the Queen Deluxe Room with a private bathroom for four nights in April, and it was excellent value for money. The location was excellent and safe: it's just a seven-minute walk from the Avenida metro station and you are literally minutes away from countless shops, cafes, restaurants, and the supermarket Aldi. As a tourist, I visited most of the recommended places you see on Trip Advisor, etc., and thanks to the proximity of the apartment to the historic district of Alfama and the hip district of Barria Alto, where most of the recommended places are located, you can even walk to pretty much everywhere you need to go if you don't mind walking. The room itself was spacious enough for one or two persons. It was exactly as it was shown in the Booking.com photos. The room and the bathroom were very clean. There was a communal kitchen that seemed to be clean and seemed to have everything for those who wish to cook during their stay. I started communicating with the Lisbon Calling staff on WhatsApp two days before my check-in, and they were super helpful and provided timely responses. I would definitely return to Lisbon Calling when I return to Lisbon.

1. This is beyond Lisbon Callings' control, but wooden floors could mean you may have to put up with noise from upstairs, especially if your stay coincides with that of a family with a child. 2. I am not sensitive to bed mattresses, but to those who are, the mattress may not be as comfortable.

Studio was very spacious and bright. Very comfortable bed and nice to have coffee provided. Good location away from busy, noisy areas.

Sound travels through the building quite easy so you could hear other travellers enter/leave the building. Mould around the shower tray needs sorting. A few items would take it to the next level. Tv, shampoo, shower gel and bottled water provided for when you first arrive would be a great addition.

Excellent location

Lack of information and we were disturbed by people either arriving late or starting very early. Hard floors and little softening means there is a lot of noise.
