Extremely friendly staff, very helpful, who helped us both to park the car in the underground garage and to buy tickets for the tourist tours, Fantastic view from the rooftop restaurant, great view of the city and from the room. Very good location.

I was surprised to learn that the pool and spa only work until 5.30pm. In fact, tourists during the day are sightseeing in Porto and do not have the opportunity to use the pool and spa. They should extend the opening hours to at least 8pm.

The daily breakfast was excellent. On our last night we were given a packed breakfast at 6.0am to support our very early departure to the airport. Very thoughtful of the hotel.

Closure of the swimming pool at 7pm

The selection of food at breakfast was great and we were impressed with the quality of the food. Most of the staff at reception were extremely polite and helpful. The person that checked us in was a gentleman. The lady that gave us advice regarding tour bookings was very helpful. The lady that manages the rooftop bar was professional and mannerly.

The Chef at the rooftop restaurant had the worst attitude that I have ever encountered in the hotel and catering industry - ruined our evening, especially as it was a much anticipated experience. It was also meant to have marked a milestone birthday. We had to leave and go into town. Unfortunately, the staff at the spa were unhelpful and impolite.

The palacio hotel is not far from the big square with the big statue of a Lion pressing an Eagle against the ground and Casa de Musica. Personel is looking quite formal, but are really helpfull and friendly. Breakfast is well done and rooms are spacious. If you dont mind walking and visiting the beach, this is the ideal spot. Just follow the Rue de Boavista towards the beach and you ll be amazed. If you decide to walk down this road I recommend walking through the city park, it is amazing. And if you really like the best part of the beach, go up norh a bit which will take 45 min extra (you can also take a bus). Once you are back from the beach you can go to the topfloor and look over the Rua de Boavista. A long straight line towards the beach as the sun sets, or relaxing after dark when the lights pop on and traffic is moving around.

Once you want to focus on the city centre with the beautifull bridge that lead to alle the Port wine cellars, you might find the location less ideal (but still more than okay). For me, allready knowing this part of the city is was not an issue!

Room was large, clean and had a great view of the city so I was happy I paid extra for it. The staff was welcoming and pleasant and professional. Shower was hot and had good pressure. Loved that the towel heater worked! Good bus and metro connections. Upon arrival the friendly and gracious bellman pointed out the amenities of the hotel including the rooftop bar and recommended I use my free welcome drink card to watch the sun go down from there. Good breakfast selections.

Ate dinner at the bar (I was only person there). After meal was served, the server disappeared to the back room and conversed with the other person who was working the bar (I could hear them talking from my table). There was no one I could ask for more water ... or get any assistance for that matter. I sat for a while waiting to pay and when she reappeared she asked "Finished? Dessert?" Disappointing, though food was good. While the two of them were in the back a couple came into the bar and finding no one there to help them, they left. I went to the rooftop bar to see the sunset and after my first drink, the wait staff attended to several large groups who were there and never asked me if I wanted anything else so I left.

nice that we got drinks vouchers for top floor bar at check-in spacious room and clean room, but you can see it is an old hotel. better cushion given when i asked for it. didn't use the spa/pool after i saw the sad ambience on -1 floor

intercontinental breakfast with almost no vegan options. For breakfast be prepared to eat jam, nutella or cherry tomatoes. the better hotels i have stayed at during my 2 week trip in portugal had grilled veggies/ hummus or avocado. Expensive parking even though its outside of city centre and the parking lot is only for the experienced driver. You have to drive to -5 level to get out. You see a lot of car scratches on the walls! We parked in the neighbourhood 7 min walk for free.

With the exception to a female receptionist at check-out, all the staff was very friendly and efficient, in particular the car valet drivers. Breakfast is always nice. The location is excellent, hence this was my third stay at this hotel.

The Spa is still not fully functional as some of the showers don't work and the same applies to the lower temperature steamroom. We had to pay an additional charge to access the Spa, hence we were expecting to enjoy all the facilities available. The female receptionist who was working when we checked-out was boarderline unpleasant and unhelpful.

We made use of the spa facilities they were great, breakfast was continental and all the food was fresh and warm. The room was incredibly quiet and very spacious. We had dinner in the roof top restaurant and that was a wonderful experience. All staff onsite were friendly and helpful

If I have to find something to complain about it would be that we were only given 2 sachets of coffee (of which one was decaf) for a room with 2 occupants. There is only a kettle in the room not a coffee machine, sharing in case anyone else misunderstands the room description as well. (Which says coffee/tea maker and separately lists kettle as well)

Every single thing, it’s amazing the smell when you enter the hotel is absolutely stunning! The staff are phenomenal they will do anything for you! The cleaners after every day leave chocolate on your pillow it’s the little things but they all add up to make this hotel exceptional.

Nothing, the only thing I will say is that the hotel is a bit out of Porto centre but Uber is very cheap and their is a tram line 5 minutes down the road that takes you into the centre, and if im honest I would stay in this hotel again because I like the way it’s out of the centre.

One week stay at Porto Palacio. Great hotel with clean facilities and very helpful staff. The breakfast was very good (they got even red/white wine). The view from the top floor is superb. Reccomend the hop-on hop-off buses available from several companies (stop station across the hotel). A minimarket is next to the hotel for water/wine/etc.

Although a bit far from the city centre, there are busses and taxi station just across the road (we also used free-now and uber app rides).
