The staff were friendly professional and very accommodating. The pool and the changing rooms were clean and warm. Nice hot showers and free hairdryer. The restaurant was clean and staff friendly and very helpful. The food and drink was delicious. The venue was quiet and peaceful and we felt very relaxed. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed was clean and had lovely comfortable bedding. The extra comfortable chair and table in the room was a lovely addition. Hot running water. The view from our room was pleasant and although there is a train that runs past we could hardly hear it.

The bed was a little hard and small for our liking although it was very clean a king-size bed would give a little more space and the room could accommodate that size. there was no toilet brush in the room and the toilet paper was very thin. I can't recommend the jacuzzi for disabled quests as it's not very easy to get in and out of although it does have grab rails the step in very high. There is no lift to the upper levels in the hotel which I feel would be an asset to those who struggle like me with the stairs.

Incredible staff, super polite and kind. Very professional as well and kindly offered us complimentary breakfast thanks to our Hilton Honours membership. The hotel was good overall, great to have access to the gym and breakfast was good too for the price. The location was good and worked well for us visiting family nearby. We would recommend and would stay here again.

I didn't like that the shower head wasn't fully detachable and cannot understand why the bathrooms have no toilet brush. This is utterly unacceptable and disgusting. The sheets were not as clean and could have been spotless but there were stains on them. We booked a double room and was surprised when we arrived and saw 2 single beds. This wasn't a big de though, but still very strange.

The hotel had very good facilities- swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room which my family enjoyed, although children under 16 are not allowed in the jacuzzi, sauna or steam room. They can only use the swimming pool. The room was a good size with complimentary biscuits and the usual tea and coffee on arrival. The hotel staff were very helpful. The buffet breakfast was delicious with a lot of options- scrambled eggs, fried eggs, black pudding, baked beans, mushrooms, sausages, pastries (pain au chocolat, croissants, etc), cereals, fruit salad, cheeses, cold meat, etc. Dinner had a good variety as well with very generous portions. We had a really good stay.

Breakfast was very good, and had good variety. However, it was missing some food items on the New Year’s Day. The room was clean, but the central heating was too hot during the night, and it didn’t make much difference with the control panel. So, it should allow the customer to control the temperature at their own preference. Everything else was in good condition and clean, the staff was friendly and respectful at all times.

Absolutely amazing service from start to finish. A quick and easy check in, 2 great rooms next to each other with adjoining door. We traveled for a birthday and they went above and beyond to decorate the room and make it special. The rooms were so clean and tidy and smelt amazing. The evening meal was fantastic and the effort they made to decorate the table at dinner was so kind. The food was so delicious. The service from the hotel staff, the restaurant staff and the housekeeping staff was brilliant. They couldn’t do enough for us and we had a really fantastic stay. We felt so welcomed. Thank you. You were all amazing. Highly recommend.

The only two things we can point out to be improved is: - A draft coming from the window as the window didn’t shut/lock tightly shut. - The breakfast was really nice and a great choice however it could have been warmer. Some of the hot food tastes a little cold for our liking.

Easy to find just off the A12 , near Colchester, plenty of FREE parking (it’s WRONG when hotels charge you to park when your already paying to stay)nice reception staff , polite and efficient, ground floor room , this is a Big hotel , lots of rooms , slept well . I used the swimming pool , jacuzzi and sauna in the morning, all nice clean , lovely thank you , Great breakfast , cereal, orange juice , tea , coffee, toast , scrambled eggs,fried eggs , bacon , sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes,beans , hash brown ,and best off all -black pudding, perfect thank you .

Everything great except - phoned for room service, we didn’t arrive until 9 ish , and would have liked fish and chips , there where no menus in the room but found it on the website , phoned front reception,and passed to room service, who when asked for service said that “ there where supply difficulties and no room service was available “

Excellent facilities and staff were kind and ready to help. . We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, and steam room. Good location if you have a car. Close to shops like Sainsbury's and Aldi + a shopping outlet all about 5 minutes drive.

Our second day dinner took over an hour and a half to be served and the children were very impatient and hungry. On asking, we learnt that our order had not gone through to the kitchen. The children nearly missed out on dessert as we ended up being served when the kitchen was closing. We were promised complementary drinks to compensate but these were never delivered.

I had an amazing massage at the Eden beauty rooms The first room I got was very noisy, with some people playing loud music and several people in a room opposite I spoke to reception and got moved to a much quieter room which was really comfortable Staff were warm friendly and helpful and any issues were quickly resolved Showers were hot. Beds were super comfy.

The swimming pool changing room floor was extremely wet and dirty during the evening swim, there was nowhere to get dressed without clothes also getting wet, it was steamy without any ventilation and the floor needing mopping badly. There were a lot of towels, and things on the floor too that people had left. The furniture in common areas was quite worn and grubby

Overall this hotel is good. The check in was nice and easy, the breakfast is good quality and the room was deep cleaned for me due to my pet hair allergies. The only bad things were that the pool is small, and more than half was blocked off for private swimming lessons. Small space for hotel guests to use. There was no one at the poor reception, so no one to get towels from. The beds are very bouncy and soft, maybe a little too soft for my liking but I know that preference! Overall this hotel is great for short stays, as the bad points we encountered are minor.

We had quite a wait from when we checked in until our room was ready, so the staff gave us complimentary drinks vouchers which we used that evening in the bar. The guy managing the pool was brilliant, he got a lot of flack from other hotel residents when the pool was at capacity but he was only doing his job and was helpful and polite. Room itself was spacious and clean. The pool changing rooms were just the right temperature and clean.

We had to wait 45mins until our room was ready after we had checked in at just after 3pm. Due to the hotel being so busy we also couldn't use the pool in the afternoon and we're told to come back in 20mins but when we did it was too full. So we changed our plans and went to have dinner nearby earlier and then swam at 7pm before it closed at 8pm.
