Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Hotel spotlessly clean. Food was lovely, plenty of choice for breakfast and well cooked (especially the bacon!). Booked a twin room for me and my elderly mum and was surprised how big our room was. Loved the decor (and the choice of tunes in the downstairs bar 😊). Very quiet overnight, and we were overlooking the main road. A short stroll to the esplanade with pretty gardens and lovely views across the channel. Will definitely be back.
Nothing, except rooms very warm as no aircon, but all the windows open.

A fantastic hotel with bags of character. We arrived a little early and our room wasn't ready but by the time we'd had a drink down in the bar it was, so we moved in a little after 15:00hrs. Although we'd been offered a larger room (for a supplement) we weren't planning on spending much time in it so found the double very adequate. We found the hotel very quiet over night and not disturbed at all which was excellent. We hadn't booked for breakfast so we can't comment on the food but the restaurant looked nice when we had passed. Parking looks like it could be testing as there is a lot of "Permit Only Parking" on the local streets, the Hotel does have a few spots including 2x EV charging places, but the only free street parking close is on The Leas but you have to be fortunate to grab a spot which we managed quite successfully. There are traffic wardens patrolling and ready to give out penalty notices. A short stroll away is a lovely promenade to walk along that's very flat and whilst we walked you can see the French coastline! All in all a very nice place well worth a visit!

We stayed at this hotel on our way back from a trip to France, we were travelling with our dog. The hotel is really dog friendly with rooms dedicated to those travellig with dogs. We had a superior double and it was really spacious with a seating area and a dog bed and bowl. Lovely view from the room as well. Really comfy bed and a very quiet hotel. Just off the sea front which was handy for dog walks. Had a great night's sleep and then headed for breakfast in the dog friendly area of the bar. Breakfast was really tasty all in all a lovely hotel and we would definitely stay again.
There are only six or seven parking spaces for the hotel car park, although not an issue for us as we snagged one. If you're not as lucky you have to park around the corner where it's free or pay for a parking permit at the hotel

I do love a grand old Victorian seaside hotel and this exceeds my expectation. Well kept, clean and nicely decorated room- none of that south coast chintz. Superb location up on the cliffs and great for walks in a quiet part of town. Ample phone sockets by beds! I was here for work and wish I’d had more time to look around. Quick drive out in the morning- no traffic issues. Staff we wonderful- clearly proud of where they worked.
Phone reception really poor which is not hotel’s fault but WiFi in the public area not strong enough to do calls home (with earphones on I hasten to add) as I don’t like to do these in my room when other guest are resting Appreciate that retrofitting aircon in an old building an issue but my east facing top floor room was still really hot and stuffy nine days after the last heatwave had gone. I really want to return but will phone and book direct next time and ask for a better ventilated room.

The Burlingron Hotel is a lovely, old building with many original features that have been made the most of. It would cost millions to fully refurb, but what has been done has been done well. The floors are a bit dodgy in places. The bathroom was beautiful and modern but the bedroom was a bit dated although it was clean and comfortable. The public areas and toilets were very well done, too. All in all, I would recommend it for a short stay. All the staff were really pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. Because we had our dog with us, we did feel like to poor re,nations to some extet. We were only allowed in the ground floor bar area, which was very nice, but the bar downstairs was a more pleasant and less isolated area. It could be possible to have a small area for dog owners to sit without feeling like lepers. There was an old guy in that bar who wasn't even a resident but didn't like the idea of dogs being in that bar. Cheek!! Having just attired bach from France, where dogs are welcome in almost all establishments, even the best hotels and restaurants, we were soon knocked back to reality. Having said all this, the staff set up and served us dinner and breakfast in 'our area' without complaint and wuith genuine good humour. We had everything we needed, and I im sure if we asked for more, they would have obliged. The breakfast was delicious, by the way, with really dood quaility ingredients. We'll done BW.
Nothing at all really, apart from our dog issue, which wasn't really an issue for us as in the past, we have had to suffer worse 'dog areas' in other establishments.

This is a a very well run hotel, friendly and helpful staff, clean with some excellent period features and great cocktail bar. The room was large and well presented with nice tea and coffee facilities, a comfortable bed and good wifi.
A few small things did not work so well. Bathroom extractor fan did not work, shower heads need descaling and the toilet seat was pretty flimsy. From an accessibility perspective the hotel does not appear to be very accessible and carpet on the stairs for example is dark with no tread contract.I appreciate we cannot change the world to accommodate all accessibility needs but perhaps at the next refurbishment this could be considered.

The hotel is clean and well kept and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s in a great location near to the seafront and it’s really good value for money. They are dog friendly and put a bowl and a bed in the room and so it’s a really nice hotel to travel to with your pet. We would stay again
The rooms were very hot in February but we could open windows. Guess it’s better to be warm but the communal areas were roasting. They also had a wedding or party on the Saturday night which from where we were was very loud until midnight. I appreciate the venue has to make money but I think could have been managed a little better with a warning and/or some earplugs as we were at the front of the property so we couldn’t sleep until it was over. At check in and check out reception gets very busy so I think two staff would help.

- Well sized room and nicely decorated rooms. - Very comfortable bed and pillows. - Lovely building which is a joy to walk through. - Friendly Staff. - Great location with sea view.
- Walls are quite thin. You can hear conversations and doors/drawers closing in the rooms next door. It's an issue if the guests don't come home until 2am, or wake up very early. - The shower was not very tall sadly. I am 6ft 4 and had to squat a little under it. Was also a little difficult to control the temperature as the facilities are quite old. - The breakfast is a little overpriced for what it is. Would recommend getting breakfast elsewhere.

Wow what a stay. We received such a warm welcome as did my friend’s dog Indi. The staff were all incredible so attentive going the extra mile for us as we needed to eat upstairs because we had Indi with us they were friendly and the ones that we spoke to which was pretty much everybody really loved their job which speaks to me of a really excellent working environment. I had asked for a sea view and I really did get one. I loved my room. I also loved that the staff were multicultural. We loved the food we loved the cocktails a bit too much and we loved the environment. I had already booked to return for my friends’s wedding and I asked if I could have the same room. Not only did the staff ensure that happened but also gave me a free upgrade which I wasn’t expecting but somehow was so in line with how we had experienced the rest of the stay. Thank you so much, everyone Jane Sarah and Indi

Visiting friends in Folkestone, we chose the Burlington for location which was a short walk into town and the old cobbled artsy area near the harbour. We opted for a standard double but were offered an upgrade which we accepted. Our room was fabulous, with a comfy king size bed, three sets of windows with a sea view. There was a dressing area with plenty of electric sockets near the mirror and huge modern bathroom. Breakfast the next day was amazing and the vegetarian option was thoughtful. All of the staff were super-friendly, it would be unfair to single anyone out. The hotel bar was a little pricey (£23 for a large wine and a beer) but lovely surroundings.
Nothing!
