Well furnished clean rooms. Very helpful & friendly staff. Hotel is well located to the town centre and beach. Beds were very comfortable and the shower / bathroom was very well kept & stocked up.

Hotel was going under a major renovation so that there was a lot of noise and rolls of carpet to negotiate. Exterior was covered in scaffold and car park at the rear needs a good tidy up.

The hotel room was clean, nice and spacious. Breakfast was worthble for the money we paid . The staff were friendly and helpful. location is just perfect for a walk around the city centre My self and my patrner were extremely satisfied by staying in these hotel

I loved this hotel. My small family booked into this hotel as we liked the close location to the town and shops. This was ideal! The view from the hotel was impeccable! Dawn and dusk sea views from the bedroom windows were magical, and will always remind ourselves of how beautiful this coastline is. The coastal path down to the children's playground and beach was inspiring to say the least. The caves, pathways and beautiful plants and trees made it so special. I can definitely see why the Victorian's loved this specific location. Highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return in summer!

A great location with good ocean views. Although the bed was a little lumpy, the fresh, clean sheets made up for it. The hotel is typical for its age. Although it's a little run down, it's still comfortable and clean. We managed to find a spot in the carpark over the weekend, but it was full by the end of the day. Monday was fine, with plenty of spots available. Discovering we had no hot water when we arrived, I mentioned it to the front desk and it was sorted quickly. They were nice and hot. Being an older hotel, the walls are a bit thin, making for a restless night if you're a light sleeper. The shower is over the bathtub and is high to step into, especially if you have short legs.

Bed was really comfy,very quiet during the night in the hotel and i slept really well.would definatley stay again.sorry i almost forgot the hotel staff are really friendly.

This property is an older property right on the sea front and in the town close to shops , the staff were very friendly and the price was really good . I did read a lot of comments about the hotel that were negative, but this hotel is the right price for the offer . Want better and there are other hotels that charge more to keep you happy . For us , the room was large , warmed up quickly and it was comfortable and the location was really great. I recommend this hotel to people on a tight budget who do not expect a five star hotel for what they are paying. We will use it again .

Overall, my stay at Carlton hotel was pleasant. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, Newly refurbished rooms were modern and inviting witha refreshing sea view from the window and the check-in process was smooth. The room was very clean and comfortable with good bedding , providing all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Breakfast were more satisfied in my stay. The location was convenient just perfect for a walk around the city centre with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation options.Additionally,the free carpark was incredibly convenient I highly recommend seeking a delightful stay at Carlton hotel again in the future. Nice, old-fashioned seaside hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, OK continental breakfast. If we'd paid more then bedside lights would have been nice, but what we got was definitely worth what we paid for.

We followed the postcode the hotel sent for the car park - mistake. Just take the little back road immediately behind the hotel. Marking out car parking spaces might have helped too - we got the very last space, but more thoughtful parking by fellow guests would have allowed at lest a couple more cars in.
