My wife and I have stayed at this lovely Dorset pub on a number of occasions and as always we had a wonderful time.A warm welcome on arrival and we had room 1 again which is at the top of the pub and presented to an excellent standard throughout. The full English breakfast was exceptional, made with quality products and cooked to perfection. We ate in the pub on both nights and really enjoyed the small sharing dishes.A big thank you to all the staff at the George and we will be back soon.

Karen and her team were so efficient in running the hotel, bar and restaurant. All the staff were lovely. The breakfast was fabulous. Fruit and yogurt followed by a choice of cooked 'full english' or cereal. The full breakfast was well cooked and delicious. Had our evening meal there as well. The same quality of food and service was maintained. Allocated parking space on site which was very useful. Currently building has scaffolding but did not detract from a great place to stay.
Once building renovation complete, ensure the windows in the rooms can open for ventilation.

Great location . It’s a busy pub but not noisy at all .Nice comfortable rooms Very friendly staff .The food was excellent and rather a lot of if they don’t believe in small portions . And a good choice of vegetarian options We went for a selection of small plates which believe me are not small and it’s not at all expensive The breakfast is delicious definitely a feast to set you up for the day you won’t need Lunch I definitely would use the George again I’d recommend booking a table it gets busy
There was nothing to dislike But could do with a USB port to charge your mobile

It was very clean as they let me in at 11am instead of 2pm. But the room was cold as the heating was off on the controls. So would have been nice to get the room warm up as it was awful weather that Thursday..
I was having shower this morning as my hair was wet as went to see the hair dryer but when I look at the hair dryer I could not use it as the part if it was like smelt even I haven’t use it yet. Just hope they throw that away I. The first place. They did offer another hair dryer but my hair was sort of half way dry and little damp. So they did apologise to me which I said it was ok. As been dealt with the situation..

Fabulous location, very close to beach and ideal for exploring the area. Friendly staff and lovely food.
We had signal issues with the television and were unable to watch it for the evenings we were there. Parking was tight in the hotel car park.

The room was clean and comfortable, and we stayed in room 3 overlooking the river Brit. There is a dedicated parking spot for each room, to the right of the building, not in the lot out front. There were plenty of coffees, teas, and toiletries, though bring your own shower-cap if you need one. We ate in the restaurant twice, and the food was exceptional, especially the sea-bass, and the chef should be congratulated. The staff are mostly young, but so efficient and friendly, staff like that are worth their weight in gold. Breakfast was cooked to order, full English, omelettes, sandwiches etc, and a nice little touch of a fresh fruit plate and yoghurt, before the hot stuff. We stayed here, in what must have been some of the worst weather for spring, 52mph winds, and sheet rain, but our stay will still stand-out as most enjoyable. Some recent stays in 'pubs with rooms' had left us feeling jaded, as though we were a necessary evil just to keep their local alive (Porthcawl), not here.

Breakfast was amazing. The staff were lovely, they couldn't do enough for you. The food was lovely too.couldnt fault the cleanliness (except for the carpets)
Would've liked to see a fridge in the room, necessary in hot weather. View from room was great except for scaffolding and netting which spoiled it a bit, plus workmen painting our window outside which meant keeping blind down. But to be fair we were warned in advance. Couldn't help but notice the carpet looked quite bad in the restaurant, very stained and worn.

The Jurassic Coaster and local buses stop directly in front of the hotel so transportation couldn't be easier. The hotel itself is located in the main square and is a short walk past shops and cafes over to the beach. The staff is excellent as is the food. I had dinner in the restaurant that evening and the included cooked breakfast the next morning. The room was large and well furnished with a lovely view of the waterfront. Both the hotel and the surrounding area were lively but quiet.
I only wish I'd had more time to stay and enjoy the area.

Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. If we had any criticism it would have been nice to have two chairs. Food was exceptional. Large portions, beautifully cooked and served. Staff were wonderful, couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. We will certainly be returning
There was one chair in the room. Two would have been better but otherwise there was nothing to dislike

Staff could not have been more helpful. My husband is disabled and had to negotiate stairs due to the age of the building, but all put themselves out to help him on the stairs and to carry our luggage. Food was extremely good, everything tasted fresh, and very generous helpings We will happily return
The building is undergoing extensive refurbishment, but all was done to make as few problems as possible
