Had a lovely family room. Spotlessly clean, with a comfy bed. All home comforts provided, tea and coffee making facilities, and delicious biscuits. Parking at the back of the hotel was free which was an added bonus. Breakfast was delicious, we could choose from the help yourself table and then also have something hot from the menu which had locally sourced items. Lovely view onto the courtyard which was very quaint. Lovely bar area. Situated in a great position on the high street, close to lots of shops, bars and restaurants. 20 minute drive to Lyme Regis and 30 minute drive to Weymouth. Would definitely recommend
Nothing, it was excellent

The Hotel its self was beautiful and in a great location and the garden out the back was lovely. We didn't have an evening meal at the hotel, we had Breakfast and from what was coming out of the kitchen looked lovely and everyone seemed happy. But the English breakfast was a little bit of a let down the scrambled egg was under cooked but still edible the sausages were tiny and the bacon was streaky bacon cooked to a crisp - it wasn't what I thought a hotel of such good standard would make, but I still very much enjoyed my stay and would come back.

We stayed one night in March whilst visiting friends. Beautiful hotel, staff were brilliant even when bust on market day when we were leaving. Room was amazing (the deluxe one), four poster bed and bath with feet in the main room. Excellent location right in the middle of Bridport. Room is quiet even with traffic outside. The open fires in the main hotel really add to the warm welcoming feel of the place. Breakfast was delicious with excellent quality ingredients for everything. We will definitely stay again next time we are in Bridport.
Water pressure in the shower was very low, not sure if this is a temporary issue.

Room was clean and tidy with all that was needed eg hairdryer, enough towels, a nice big mirror easily accessed except when drying hair (see below)etc. Staff were very helpful at all times and gave very good service. Breakfasts were good. Would have been a nice extra to know, if yogurt was bio. A little label on table beside it, maybe?
Limited number of coat hangers. Only 2 and they had the bathrobes on them! Storage space limited as well - a very small drawer and a shelf in wardrobe. Would have loved another small mirror near a plug to help when styling my hair.

Staff welcoming, friendly and professional Pleasant courtyard with good atmosphere - probably the liveliest venue in town Varied breakfast menu Good size room and large en-suite Good parking facilities for town centre location
Admittedly not a hotel fault but little sleep due to noisy seagulls Stairs and corridors need refreshing (important for first impressions) Didn't book for dinner - menu looked uninspiring Cooked breakfast good except for bacon - hard/almost inedible Too few tea bags in room!

Two open fires in the reception and bar/restaurant areas. Very friendly helpful smiling staff - every single one. Excellent healthy food Lovely characterful building - coaching inn house dating from 1600s Free unsolicited upgrade to incredible room when they found it was our 50th wedding anniversary! Not relevant midwinter, but lovely enclosed courtyard area for outside drinking and eating. We loved it start to finish. Use of superb ball and function room for community choir and yoga classes during our sort stay just added to the general feel.
Nothing could have been better

A wonderful room with large comfortable bed, spacious well-appointed ensuite, and chairs in a little bay window looking out onto the main street - ( + sufficient hooks and mirrors in helpful places). The staff were great - welcoming, calm, efficient and helpful even under the pressure of a very busy Bridport Hat weekend. Appreciated also the parking behind the hotel.
The breakfast chef was not at their best when we stayed: sausages and bacon mediocre quality, mushroom overcooked and tough.

I was on a trip down memory lane from the year 1966. I lived in the village of Bothenhamton, just down the road back then with my wife and children. I worked for the BBC at Rampisham. On New Year's Day, I treated 8-family members to a New Year's Day meal at the Bridport Arms in West Bay. It was a delightful day. My overnight stay at the Bull Hotel was me winding down, so I did drink a lot of Lagavulin whisky and chatted to anyone and everyone, but Manager Jack called me to one side a little later and asked me politely to "back off"! He was giving me some timely advice and I listened and went to my room. to sleep. The breakfast next morning was superb. It was a great visit for me - I hope that I didn't upset anyone, as an old guy just taking a trip down "memory lane" on a very special day in the Calendar. Thanks.....Paul.
Maybe if Manager Jack had not said politely for me to back-off! But, that is minor.

Perfect location for a one night stay, close to all amenities. Free parking at the back of the hotel and breakfast was fabulous. Loved the roll top bath.
Would have scored full marks, but found a few issues with the room, which let it down. Carpets are frayed around the edges in our luxury room by the door entrance and around the wardrobe. Toilet roll holder was loose and slightly hanging off the wall. The shower was tiled and the wash basin surround, yet the toilet itself was surrounded by painted plywood panels. Not what you expect in a luxury bathroom. The coffee table under the bay window had a lot of biscuits crumbs on it. But all in all, loved the space we had.

Room was beautiful appointed and such a bonus it was a family room with bunk beds for the kids. Our room was in the stable, was worried it would be cold but the heating worked brilliantly. Bathroom spacious and clean. Breakfast was exceptional - great continental spread plus hot food to order - the french toast was exceptional and the bacon rolls generous.
Dinner in the restaurant was a little disappointing and average, but nothing else to fault.
