Hotel is in a superb location, no more than a kilometre from all the major sites in Salamanca. Despite this the hotel provides a tranquil and quiet atmosphere. The reception staff are excellent, especially Paulino, who couldn't have been more helpful. There is an extensive breakfast menu available in addition to the buffet. All excellent quality. Parking is an optional extra but super convenient. We had a cloister view room which was extremely quiet and the bed very comfortable.
Although the pool was open it's not in the most convenient location in relation to the main buildings. The outdoor furniture here seemed a little tired.

We always stay here en route from southern Spain to Santander or Bilbao where we are catching the ferry to England. It’s the perfect stop for us and is very relaxing after a long drive. Pet friendly too which is important to us plus easy secure parking 👍
We ate in the hotel restaurant this time as we’re too tired to go into town. The hotel restaurant looks lovely and the menu seemed good with a good choice and reasonably priced however the food was disappointing. It’s fine dining which we are not a fan of. My husband had cod which was full of bones and it was served on top of a few peas - that’s all - no potatoes or any other veg. I had some pieces of pork served on top of a few shitake mushrooms - nothing else - again no potatoes which seems strange. Breakfast however is excellent and needless to say we were starving so made the most of it! 😂

The check in was fast and professional. The room was on thr first floor and easy to reach. We had a de luxe room and it was fully to the standards of luxury. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. In the beginning there was a little issue about the heating. The weather was chilly and the heating was turned off. We complained and our complaints had effect. From that time on it was nicely warm in the room from late afternoon on when we came back from the sight seeing. The roomservice was very fast. The location of the hotel is great. In less than five minutes you are in the historic center.
It was a disappointed to learn that the outdoor swimming pool was still closed. Among other things we choose the hotel for the swimming pool. But indeed the weather was too cold for being outside in swimming trousers. But we can imagine how nice it will be in summer time. There are no negative points to mention. We enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is perfectly located close to all the bars, restaurants and shops. We were booked in for one night only but wished we had organised to stay longer. The room in the hotel was spacious with a large comfy bed with views to the Cathedral. The outside gardens and pool area were a real bonus. So good to be able to relax after a few hours of meandering through the city. The hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. This place has been added to our top 5 and totally recommend and hope to visit again.

Gorgeous property and location in the beautiful historic old town. Very welcome greeting to us and especially our cocker spaniel on arrival late at night by evening male reception. Breakfast was very nice
It was a very cold morning so disappointed breakfast staff didn’t allow us to eat breakfast somewhere inside? Considering it’s a dog friendly hotel we were surprised the staff couldn’t be more accommodating. Last time we stayed with our dog we were allowed to sit in the bar area as it was freezing outside eating on the terrace.

Huge, very comfortable room and bathroom. Quiet, beautifully decorated and loved the fresh flowers. Breakfast was lovely. Location was excellent for wandering Salamanca. Hotel smelled lovely (weird thing to mention but it was noticeable). Drinks in bar were very reasonable.
Pool was not open in early June - and did not look as if it would be open in the near future (hotel said 20th June was beginning of summer and it was due to open then) as peeling walls, empty and awaiting a good clean when we visited . Garden was roped off most of time. Pool featured heavily in photos of hotel and was one of the reasons we booked. Appreciate that a pool can be seasonal - but when it is 30 degrees in June then would expect it to be available or make dates much clearer in promotion (we booked through Booking.com)

The Hospes Palacio de San Esteban was a spectacular place to stay particularly because of its location in a converted part of a working monastery, the amazing transformation into truly five star accommodation and for me, stunning views towards the ornate skyline with nesting storks clearly flying to and from the roof tops. Breakfast was amazing, with choice from the cold buffet and hot a la carte menu and in a large dining hall which, like the rest of the hotel, retains much of its historical ambience. We didn't try the Hotel evening menu, but ate out in the town. The beautiful University city of Salamanca was easily within walking distance of the hotel with its Cathedral, restaurants and sites of tourist interest.

I liked staying in the historic property in one of my favorite places in Spain, Salamanca. We could walk to everything we wanted to see, including the Plaza Mayor and the University and cathedral.
It was VERY difficult to thread the needle to find the actual entrance. We circled many times with our GPS seemingly sending us the wrong way on a one-way street. However, the parador was behind a tall wall, and the sign was not very visible. It was fine once we realized what the GPS meant by "right turn," There isn't as much of the original building as I had hoped but still a beautiful place.

We enjoyed the historical building theme and we found the room quite comfortable. Breakfast was also quite good, though we did find that waiters were overwhelmed during peak times, making it harder to order food. Hotel was located close to the centre of the city and very close to the main attractions, making it accessible for tourists like us.
The hotel could be upgraded by integrating more ammenities (gym, spa) for clients, especially considering the pricing. Those features are included in most 5 stars and offers a more confortable stay to customers. Last thing to mention is that the experience felt very transactional, the service lacked the friendliness expected from a 5 star hotel.

Wonderful hotel a short walk from the centre of Salamanca old town with great facilities/pool area. The service was generally fantastic and the executive lunch menu in the restaurant was great value. Would stay again!
Hard to fault the hotel as it was wonderful but a small area for improvement would be the breakfast, which could do with a bit more variety and quality. If this would have been included in the room price, I wouldn’t have mentioned it but at 22€ per person per day, we had other expectations in comparison to other 5-star hotels.
