We traveled by train and getting to the hotel was an "adventure"! We arrived early and I asked if we could check in and just sit in their lobby. The young lady behind the desk said she did have a room ready; but it was on the second floor. When I asked how many steps it was, one of the housekeeping ladies, grabbed my suitcase and took it up the stairs and to the room for me. Later we needed a taxi so we could get a car rental because the location of the hotel to downtown Haper's Ferry was not walkable for my husband and I, the lady at the front desk was able to help with getting us a taxi.

The only thing I would have liked was for the hotel to be walkable to "downtown" That is not the hotel's fault, it was me not doing my homework!

I enjoyed staying here. The staff was very quiet and mindful as well as courteously kind. whenever I had an issue, they fixed it and didn't make me feel bad about it. I appreciate how homey this location is it's also LITERALLY right around the corner from The Harpers Ferry and if you are willing to walk, this is the place for you. they had many cyclists that stayed here and plenty of parking for them as well I also loved it was right next to a little seating area that a chunky squirrel and an unbothered bunch of deer roam, graze and eat.

the walls were a little thin. I could hear EVERYTHING going on in the room next door in the middle of the night. I wish I hadn't.... but let this be a reminder that all of us should be mindful and quiet when we are out and around other people.

Good beds, staff worked hard, location was perfect. Maintenance immediately fixed a problem, which is a big plus.

Breakfast food was terrible. The problem was the food, not the dining staff. They tried very hard to keep everything stocked. Not enough tables in breakfast area--it's too small, and it was locked after breakfast so there was no place to socialize. Room was damp.

Staff was super nice. Hotel and Room were clean. AC worked great.

I commented at time of booking that we needed ground floor if there was no elevator. They had us on second floor with no elevator. Call the property directly with any special needs. Staff was super nice about moving us but we ended up with a queen bed after booking a King. I am a restless sleeper and I really missed the king bed.

The property is getting upgrades and that is great new carpets, new furniture, new bedding. the staff and the owners are very conscientious and awesome and helpful people from Earl and maintenance of the cleaning staff to the front desk women. It is perfect for a stay in the area. Absolutely check out Bolivar Bread Bakery when you are here, too.

One treadmill was not working.

We typically do not like hotel breakfast so we didn't eat there. However it was very easy to load and unload at this motel with a 10 min parking space right inside the front door. The foyer was a little awkward as they were two of them. It appeared some type of renovation had been done. The thing that stood out to us was the dirty windows. Our room had a burned out light bulb in the vanity area, and we were not left any coffee pods with the coffee pot. We asked for those at the front desk, but usually bring our own coffee pot and supplies for a 2 night stay. The information about the area was very good. The detour of Rt 340 was a pain but that wasn't any fault of the hotel. Our room was comfortable enough. For such a small town the price for two nights was approaching $330 after Labor Day; a little pricey for what was there.

Clean the windows, double check supplies, pump up the lighting somewhat, rooms quite dark.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The finishes are showing their age, but our room was very clean and comfortable. Nice warm breakfast in the morning.

Location worked well enough for us but note that if you are walking into town it's not too far (about a mile) but part of the way is along a road with no sidewalk or shoulder. Note that some rooms are on the second floor with no elevator.

Good location, easy to find and easy parking. Breakfast was as expected.

The bed was too hard for my liking. I tried asking the desk staff on 2 occations about tubing in the area and they could only name one company and basicly referred me to the website. I would have expected them to have at least a basic knowledge of the local activities and tour operators and point out on a map where they are located.

I thought the place was very clean, I was thrilled with my room. The staff was nice.

I wish that I could have gotten a ride to town. I didn't have a car. I realize that there might not have been enough staff to do that. I also wish there was more selection for breakfast. I stayed at a Clarion Inn in Asheville in April and I got pancakes and sausages. I don't like waffles. Also wish there was more fruit selection, like bananas.

Clean, comfy and convenient. Friendly and assisting staff. Location easy accessible (there is nothing in walking distance, but you would arrive by car anyway). Breakfast could be improved (add vegetables? Cheese? - they have eggs, sausage, waffles, juice, yogurts, variety of cornflakes, muffins)
