Me and my boyfriend booked the junior suite with a pool for 3 nights, it was our anniversary and we haven’t been able to go away due to covid so thought we would go all out and it was a really good deal too! We thought we would message the hotel to see if they could offer anything for our anniversary and we opened our door to the most amazing decorations plus an extra bottle of cava, we felt like royalty! The staff were so amazing throughout our stay and the room was great with really nice views, the weather wasn’t the best but the pool was warm so we got to swim in there even at night!

the only downside is we wished the tv was a smart tv so you could watch Netflix as it was only Spanish tv but it wasn’t a big deal

Location, location, location. You could not get a better location in the heart of Barcelona with Plaça de Catalunya square in the centre of the city of Barcelona literally steps away. I had an excellent view of the plaza and city sights from my balcony. If I go back, I would stay at the same hotel and recommend it to anyone that is planning a trip to Barcelona if they want to be in the middle of everything.The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was an excellent spread for the breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, fresh juices and bakery items.

The only reason I would not give it a 10 is because there was a weird height for the entry of the sliding glass door to access the balcony for the room. I fell a couple of times trying to step up, and it is a safety concern. An additional step or remodel to the room needs to be done to correct the issue.

The staff was very attentive and helpful both during check-in and during entire stay. The room met our expectations, particularly we liked private terrace and pool. The pool wasn't deep (around 50-60cm), but totally enough, also there was sufficient space for two around the pool for sunbathing. The location is really good - La Rambla is just across the Catalunya square. Also Hotel is in comfortable distance from two subway stations which was nice as we mainly used subway to move around the city. Breakfasts were very good, lots of choices nevertheless we were coming during the last hour as I'm not an early bird :) Special thanks to Ian at reception and Michelle, who was taking care of our room.

Everything is brand new, spotless!!! Amazing smell around thotel. Love love love! Amazing staff! We had a late flight and we were able to leave our bags after checkout and continue to explore the city a bit more, they allowed us to use the pool which was very convenient 😻 Great location, close to all attractions and public transportation, free parking for scooters right across the hotel (if you are renting one). Big supermarket is also across the streeet. Hop on hop off bus stop is 2 min walking. Amazing! Thank you for a great stay

The location was fantastic, it's right in the center of town with the Passeig de Gracia on one side (designer shops), la cortes ingles on another (a 9-story mall and food court), and Las Ramblas (an exceptionally long Soho-style assortment of bars, restaurants, and shops) on the last side. There are also 2 metro stations within 3 mins walk and a bus that goes to and from the airport as well. The hotel itself was very clean, rooms of decent size, immaculate bathrooms, and a pretty good breakfast (it's continental so you may want to skip this if you want to try Spanish cuisine). Overall, a really good place to stay!

The ONLY thing I'd take away from the entire experience was that the rooms don't have carpets so you're going to be needing slippers. I'm pretty used to rug-ged floors in hotels and this was unique.

During my week long stay, the location was the best. Who can resist A bottle of sparkling wine, fruit and cheese plate upon arrival. The evening chocolates accompanied by a sweet dream card is a nice touch. Within walking distance to some major points of interest and lots of shopping. The architecture of the Eixample District buildings is my favorite style. To pass by buildings designed by Gaudi on a regular basis was exceptional. The staff of The Catalonia Hotel was also exceptional. Every request was met with a smile and prompt action. The size of the Junior Suite was adequate and the amenities well appointed. The Hotel Catalonia Square will be my Barcelona hotel in the future.

Great location! We’d been staying in apartments for 2 months, and this was our last week in Spain, so it was sheer luxury to have strong water pressure in the shower, plenty of hot water, soft fluffy towels! Bed was comfortable and large enough for my tall husband. The staff were exceptional, chocolates every day, surprised us with complimentary bottle of champagne on our last day. We returned to the room one morning when housekeeper was cleaning, and she wouldn’t let us in without proving who we were and that our keys opened the door. I have never encountered this level of security before and was very impressed! We didn’t eat in the restaurant so I can’t comment on the food. The breakfast buffet was expensive compared to what we could get at nearby cafes and brunch restaurants. Staff helped us get a taxi for our departure - no delays. Safe was large enough for MacBook Air. Would stay there again.

Desk chair wasn’t very sturdy. TV wasn’t pre-loaded with Netflix - had to Chrome cast from our own devices.

Great, central location, good access to nearby eateries and the Aerobus at Plaza Catalunya. I received a complimentary upgrade to Junior Suite at check-in, which was lovely. The hotel breakfast is really good and has a wide variety of food. Hotel staff were very warm and friendly, and accommodating in accepting a parcel on my behalf before I checked in.

It did not really affect me as I was staying alone, but I could imagine that it would be awkward for friends or family to share the room as the shower cubicle wall is partly frosted glass and partly see-through, and anyone else in the bedroom can see the person in the shower. They only provide tissue paper in small packs of 4 or 5 sheets rather than the tissue box you usually get in other hotels, and that is a bit inconvenient as you need to call reception if you need more tissue.

The location was very convenient near subway stations and many bus lines. The hotel felt very new and modern. The room was large and nicely decorated. The twin beds were fantastic. The breakfast was delicious and offered a large variety of food. The staff was very friendly. There was a espresso machine and a kettle in the room with coffee capsules, milk and tea. The staff gave us extra capsules upon request and left chocolate for us in the room every day.

I think there was not enough lighting in the room at night. Also, although I understand that this is a design trend, I do not like the bathroom’s outside walls to be made of glass, although the glass was opaque, I still like privacy in the bathroom. I also don’t like that the sink is in the bedroom and not in the bathroom. Call me old fashioned… In addition, the shower does not have a door and the whole floor gets flooded when you take a shower. I asked the reception to give us extra bathroom floor towels and they did. Still, it is my second stay in a Catalonia hotel chain and I do like the general feeling of the hotel

Nice place to stay if you need a quick acces to bus stations and love to feel the vibrant life of the city. It is also a good spot if you want to descover the city on foot. Very friendly and helpful staff. The pool area, even small, could be a pleasant refreshing place for a very hot afternoon. Breakfast is quite the same every day but there are enough options so that it doesn't became boring for a week stay. Some options for special diets are available, too. Room has a convenient size for a central accomodation. There is not a clasical "bathroom" in the room, but separate spaces for toilet and shower with glass doors. Take a view of room pictures before you book it, it could be bothering if you share the room with a not very closed friend...

I had to change every single day the acces card for our room because it get deactivated ( probably by the cell phone, even if it stays in the same bag but not together with the acces card).
