The room, while small, was quiet, modern and impeccably clean. While the room was small it is very well designed to make the most of the available space - there is also a bunk bed if you have children. There's a lift up to the room (which is not always the case with hostels). It's within easy walking distance of the cathedral and Burgos city centre and there are bars and restaurants nearby. The owner was very friendly and helpful, giving us advice about where to go (including the excellent museum of human development). There is parking near the hotel so if you plan to use it it's best to stop outside the hostel, unload luggage, and then park your car. This is excellent value for money.

This hostel is meticulously cared for - which means the guests are too. After an initial difficulty of working out how to get into the building the owner was extremely helpful and helped me with the huge amount of luggage I had. The room was very nice and the location is good too.

With no internet because my phone screen was broken, it took ages to find this property. Street names are barely marked, major roads the same. The ‘hotel’ maps were useless. In the end it was someone in a hotel who nursed me through the route with good old fashioned pen and paper. In no way is this the fault of the hostel, however it is the fault of my/our dependence on what is actually very unreliable - viz the internet.

Location is just perfect. In city center but not exactly so it’s quiet and everything within walking distance. The staff is very kind and helpful. Easy check in and out.

The bed was comfy but creaking. I could hear neighbors next door who had a shower and a long conversation at midnight. I’d love to see a hair dryer in the bathroom, but that’s more like a wish, not a complaint.

Walking the Camino, our needs are very basic so let's just say that Hostal Carrales succeeded in making our 2-day stay very comfortable. Clean, bathroom amenities, hot water and good lighting. The location was perfect, and we found a laundromat (Lavamac) and 2 small grocery stores nearby. All of the major attractions are within walking distance.

We stayed in Burgos for 3 nights while on the Camino. There was plenty to see and do, The hostal was very clean. However, the room was on the smaller side. We would have liked if they would have at least provided some hot/cold water in the common area. There was a good bakery Bertiz close by which we loved and had our daily breakfast.

The location is about 15 minutes to the beautiful cathedral. Also near the Museum of Evolution History. Also near bus station. Owned by 2 brothers who will give you a map and suggestions for eating. Room very quiet clean and. comfortable. Bathroom opposite very clean. They kept my bags for me after check out

This is a very basic accommodation as one would expect at a hostal, but the staff were extremely helpful, the location was very good, it was spotlessly clean and did the job for a one night stay, especially for the price. The hostal's own parking was full when we arrived, but we parked nearby in a secure underground carpark for 12.50 Euros. They allowed us to leave our luggage in the room when we checked out and kept it for us while we did some sightseeing in the city.

The room was very clean, neat and tidy and all the facilities in the room worked well so no complaints. Good value.

The only thing that would have been useful would have been a vending machine somewhere on the property so i could get a snack or drink. Parking was also difficult and had to drive around for a while trying to find a space as the nearby roads were busy.

The room is not sound proof cause of the thin walls On Saturday night we got woken up by noises. (all the other days we had almost no disturbance) You cannot control the heater unfortunately.

I stayed in room 202, a double room with its own little balcony. Considering that I'm walking the Camino de Santiago, something this nice doesn't come very often. The bed was super comfy and allowed me to recuperate my energy. The room has its own sink, so I didn't have to wait for the shared bathroom to shave or just brush my teeth. The rooms and the shared bathroom are kept sparkling clean. The hostel is close to a busy intersection, so it can get a bit noisy if your room faces the street. But ear plugs allowed me to sleep well regardless. The wifi works extremely well. Happy Hostal Carrales is located 5 minutes away from a laundromat and supermarket. It's about a 10-minute walk from the cathedral and all other points of interest Burgos has to offer. A bit more expensive than my other Camino digs, but well worth the price in my opinion.
