We've stayed at this hotel several times in recent years because it is ideally located for a relaxed start or end to a longer stay in Spain. On this occasion, we spent the final 3 days of a 6-week stay in Spain while we waited for the ferry's departure. It maintains a high standard of comfort at a very competitive price.

The breakfast was very poor, both in quality and the very limited variety, and represented low value for money. This is the only aspect of the hotel's offerings that we feel could be improved at the price level it operates in.

The proximity to the sea was amazing. I could heard the waves from my room, and it was beautiful every morning when I left the hotel. The pool was pretty, and deserted in late September. Room was clean and large (I had a wheelchair accessible one, which was almost certainly bigger than the usual). The hotel restaurant was nice the one meal I had there, and there's a great Japanese restaurant just around the corner. The lifts were always available and there was level access from the hotel entrance to my room.

The pool was very cold, fairly small, and not at all accessible. It's on the first floor but can only be accessed via a flight of stairs from the ground floor. The window in my room was small and high up on one corner, so that I could only actually see the sea view rather than the sky if I went and stood right next to the window. Not great for a wheelchair accessible room. Also, the information on booking.com wasn't accurate when I booked - it had my room specifically marked as entire unit on ground floor but when I asked it turned out none of those rooms were on the ground floor. The location is nice for the beach, but a bit inconvenient for a lot of the city and for transport links.

The rooms and the whole property were really clean and nice, the breakfast was good!

If needed to find something the food at the hotel for dinner was not really good.

Very clean rooms, modern decor, lovely pool area with incredible views, amazing location along the el Sardinero promenade and a short walk to other smaller coves and beaches. Balcony was a plus! Lots to choose from at breakfast.

- Room was on the smaller side (however we had an unexpected balcony!) - Hotel can be super busy in the summer and we weren’t aware you’re supposed to book time slots for sun beds on the pool terrace which seemed a little strange. Also the pool area feels more designed and suitable for adults-only. - Would be great to have some anti-slip mats around the pool area as it gets very wet and slippery and quite dangerous. - The breakfast room isn’t laid out very well and is super chaotic (Also for some reason all the sandwiches seemed to have ham in them - not great for vegetarians)

I had a wonderful stay! The location was perfect, and I loved dining at the PANORAMA restaurant. The continental breakfast was delicious too. My room was spacious and had an amazing sea view—what a treat to wake up to every morning! I also liked the idea of the water stations in the hall, where you can refill your bottles. It was a pleasant surprise that I could buy all the essentials in the vending machine near the lifts or reception area. The infinity pool deserves a separate review; it is a very nice place for pictures and just relaxing.

We had a lovely sea view and the hotel was located at the far end of the promenade. This meant we had the whole length to walk, which was really good. The room would have benefited from a couple of easy chairs and a small table. However, space would have prohibited that. The food, during the evening, was beyond delicious!

We weren´t keen on the pool. It had sun loungers on it, which took up quite a lot of space. This meant that there was only a narrow strip in which to swim. So, by the time there was a couple of children in that part of the pool, swimming was not possible.

The hotel was perfect and excellent value for money. We opted for a room without breakfast as we don’t always eat first thing but was able to walk out when we was ready and get food from local bars within minutes. We have a sea view room with a balcony, which offered lovely views of coastline. The hotel was situated in a quiet location along the sea front but within easy walking distance to beautiful coastal paths for long walks and to local bars and restaurants. The hotel was pristine! The room was lovely and extremely clean, beds comfortable and had all amenities within the hotel we needed. If you wanted to walk to the main centre that was achievable but for those lazy nights you can get a taxi for around 6 euros if you’ve been walking all day. We went on some beautiful walks either side of the hotel with stunning views of the coastline and little bars and cafes along the way. Staff at the hotel couldn’t be anymore helpful giving us pool towels, booking is taxis and also giving us umbrellas to borrow on rainy days so we could still go out and explore. Santander was such a beautiful place to stay! I’ve never been to anywhere that’s so clean. The beaches are cleaned everyday, the pavements did not have no spec of rubbish, beautiful parks all around and catered well for those who like to walk with promenade’s and walking paths.

My wife and I had booked the Hotel Chiqui as a convenient location for a conveniently short journey to Santander's airport the following morning and, based on the limited information on Booking.com's website, had no particular expectations about it. How wrong were we?!! Situated a stone's throw from a huge, beautiful beach (empty: it's winter) the hotel has a onsite parking area (free: there is a daily charge for its underground parking) this is obviously a very attractive summer location. From the moment we walked into its elegant, modern lounge area, we realised this was going to be an enjoyable experience and one immediately confirmed by the extremely welcoming member of staff on the reception desk. Without any prompting, she immediately upgraded our room to one with a balcony and view of the sea. Our room was not especially large but comfortably furnished, with a compact, well equipped bathroom. The addition of the balcony was a very pleasing bonus on what was an unexpectedly nice day (clear blue sky and view of the mountains behind the city). The dinner choices in the hotel's elegantly designed 'Panorama' restaurant were outstanding: the food that arrived even more so. Breakfast the following morning was a delight - very comfortable room with a fantastic range of food / beverage options on offer, all beautifully presented. The Hotel Chiqui proved to be a total surprise: great quality, excellent value and super-friendly staff: we'll be back.

Visiting the Hotel Chiqui in winter and not being able to try out its infinity pool! Otherwise, no complaints - the location and facilities are excellent and the staff could not be more helpful.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall you could really tell they really wanted a good review and were going out of their way to be helpful which is a pleasant change, especially in Spain ! The location is perfect for being next to the quieter end of Santander with an amazing walk right behind the hotel as well as a great beach right in front of the hotel.

The breakfast wasn’t the greatest choice and the coffee was a 1/10. You had the option to buy a very good cappuccino or other barista made coffees so it wasn’t a problem in the end. Our room was very small and basic but overall the bed was clean and comfortable and we had a good sea view.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful. My parents were staying at the same time and my dad is in a wheelchair and their step free access and adapted room was great. As I had travelled solo I had booked one of the smaller rooms which had ample storage, a lovely bathroom, was fresh, modern and very clean with a lovely view of el sardinero beach and the sea. The air conditioning is good but not loud and the excellent blackout curtains help with a siesta. The breakfast buffet is great and the food in the Panorama restaurant was superb and very reasonably.priced. The staff were all good at speaking English however were also very patient with me as I wanted to practice my Spanish. They were so welcoming, friendly and attentive. They went out of their way to ensure our comfort. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Had I gone as a couple with my husband, we would have found it equally enjoyable.

Only issue was I had.to connect to the WiFi in the lobby for the first time before the network showed up as available in my room but there was no.issue with the connection or the speed. Just something to be aware of.
