The view from the room is amazing and the room is well equipped, especially we are a family, 4adults and 1 child, the top apartment with kitchen with 2 rooms but has an extra den with singe bed and 2 full bathroom given us enough space to stay.

Many people does not like its location however, we enjoyed a short hike down hill to Grindelwald station and gondola station. It takes only 10min for us. To come back to the hotel, we took a bus 121, the hotel provides a whole family voucher to use even till check out day.

* Location: The hotel is situated in a quiet area. About 10 minutes away from town center. Also with easy access to public transport: 5 minutes away from bus stop (121) or 20 minutes from Grindelwald train station. * View: The view is spectacular. But the view is great all over Grindelwald. * Breakfast: a good mix with meat based products, different types of cheese, eggs and vegan. * Room: Clean and big enough room with great view balcony. Every day cleaning service. * Parking: For those who travel by car the parking is convenient and safe.

Hotel Gletscherblick is a charming place, with a slight old-timey vibe — perched on a hill at the edge of town, very close to some cow stables. Rustic and cute. I rented a single room, which was furnished with cozy vintage pieces. My room also had a balcony. Everything was very clean, and everyone who worked at the reception desk was so friendly, kind, and accommodating. They assisted me with everything from my need to borrow an electric adapter, to my plans to visit First (thank you so much, Maria!), to my need to find a new booking when I unexpectedly decided to stay longer in Grindelwald and the Gletscherblick was full (thank you, Irene!). The breakfast was also great, with a nice assortment of cereals, yogurts, breads, jams, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, and a variety of hot and cold beverages. I was told by multiple people in Grindelwald, in fact, that the cook / the restaurant at Hotel Gletscherblick is also great, but sadly I didn't get the chance to try dining there this time — hopefully next time! Finally, I should note that the walk to this hotel from the main station is about 20–25 min. long and mostly uphill, with the final stretch(es) being switchback-style. There's a bus that runs often (roughly every 15 min.), with the nearest stop about a 2 or 3-minute walk down the hill from the Gletscherblick. Some travelers might want to stay in the downtown area itself, but personally, I loved staying in this area instead; up on the hill where the Gletscherblick is, the views are "uncrowded," and the few minutes of extra walking to and from downtown are very pleasant for the additional vistas. Not to mention that Grindelwald itself is so small in the first place that the downtown area is still super-close. Personally, I did not feel a need to use the bus — even with my luggage (a rolling carry-on and a backpack). I would gladly recommend this hotel to others and am so happy I found this place! Thank you again for a wonderful experience!

This is not a complaint, but it's an important note for travelers with physical disabilities: you should be aware of the location (see above) and make appropriate arrangements for arriving at or bringing your luggage to the hotel. The Gletscherblick is *not at all* inconveniently located, but just know in advance that everything is uphill once you exit the downtown area, and the last hill up to the hotel is particularly steep. I didn't mind this at all, but disabled travelers might want to bring a car.

The room is spacious, basic but functional. The breakfast does not have any hot dish other than the scrambled egg but certainly feed you well and provide you with enough energy for a day’s hiking. Though, their croissants are very good soft and fluffy.

It is a bit out of the way on the edge of the town centre. If you do not drive, the only means of transport is by bus No.121 which runs once every half hour and it stops running after 6 or 6.30 pm. Or you could walk 25 minutes from the town centre. So you have to plan in advance in order not to miss the bus. Also, there are only two restaurants nearby. Many guests bought foods from Coop a the town centre and reheat it at the hotel. They provide microwave cooker on each floor.

It's a traditional chalet hotel in a quieter area a little above the town, with everything one would expect, including, of course, the spectacular view promised in the name. Our apartment was very spacious and well equipped. There is a lift, if you're exhausted from a day in the mountains. Breakfast buffet has quite a lot of choice, all to a high standard. With five people, it was good value.

Service was efficient but perhaps could have been friendlier. The open staircase to the top floor won't suit anyone with vertigo (although why would they be in Grindelwald in the first place 🤔?). The fire extinguisher is indicated with a sign but safety zealots would probably prefer it not to be hidden behind an armchair.

The view. The view from anywhere in Grindelwald is out of the world. However, as this hotel is on a small hill, you see the other mountains from an altitude -- that accentuates the view. Also, as the name of the hotel suggests, you have the 'blick' of the glacier -- this is not present form most of the other hotels that are located west of Grindelwald. This makes this hotel unique. We liked the views so much that we canceled the plan of other days just to stay inside and look at the mountains (we had Eigar-view room). The views from our room made our trip to other parts (such as Lauterbrunnen, etc.) mediocre :D. Another point is the quality of the chalet. We had a big 2 floor apartment and worried that the roof room (dachgeschloss) and, in general, the rooms will be with squeaky woods. This was such a well maintained chalet.

The positive feature of the hotel being in a hill, adds some negative points. To go anywhere or take a walk, you have to go down some steep roads. The road towards the city is a constant downhill. While this was not a problem for us, our grandparents with our baby in the stroller struggled. The other roads that runs parallel, most likely leads to other private properties. So that is not a pleasant walk. The staffs looked little uninterested, but that was not too bad.

The view from our balcony was perfect - across the valley to the mountains, including one of the local cable cars. We enjoyed our balcony very much! Very good buffet breakfast. The hotel is on the bus route, but the bus stop is not very close and there’s a steep hill to get to the hotel. The hotel offers a shuttle service for 10 euros per trip. We used this because several people in our party have bad knees or backs and the hill was too much for us. We would definitely stay here again. In fact, we tried to extend our stay by another night but they were already fully booked.

We found this hotel very last minute but we are so glad we did! Located in the wonderful Grindelwald, this hotel is on top of a hill that is surrounded by mountains. Although there is quite a steep trek up to the hotel, it was worth it and part of the adventure. The room itself was very cosy and comfortable. It had a long balcony which was a very nice addition. The staff were excellent and were very friendly. It was my 18th birthday and one particular staff member (unfortunately can’t remember her name) helped me in having an unforgettable birthday. She brought out a piece of cake with candles for me. She made sure our stay was pleasant. The breakfast was excellent with many options to choose from. There is a lovely terrace for a beautiful viewpoint. Upon checkout you get a guest card which is very handy to get the bus to the Glacier Canyons (highly recommend going there!). Thank you Hotel Gletscherblick and the wonderful staff for an unforgettable stay and birthday in Grindelwald!

As everyone else would be we were hoping for a sunny, clear day but unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side. During our stay it was raining and the mountains were covered completely by thick clouds. However that is no one’s fault, just be prepared to expect the unexpected! It would have been nice if the breakfast would have had fried eggs. No complaints though, the property was wonderful.

The mountain view from the room is spectacular. Room is spacious. The hotel provided complimentary birthday cake to my brother in law when they learnt that it was his birthday.

A lot of uphill to the hotel. Not recommended to pull luggage all the way from station to hotel. Transfer from station to hotel is CHF10, better use the transfer. Contacted them on the transfer thru booking.com chat and they requested us to give them a call one hour before arriving at the station. When we called one hour before they requested us to call them when we reached the station. This is very frustrating and we had to incur international call charges. Which we don’t understand why can’t we communicate the time of our arrival at the station and then they come pick us up thru booking.com chat instead of insist us to call them again and again. It is not that we didn’t book the hotel room with them.

Very nice hotel with great staff and management. Everything was great in this hotel from the accommodation and comfort to the stunning views and delicious breakfast. And because I enjoyed staying at this hotel, I asked to extend my stay for a third day. Parking Free 100% I will visit it again in the future.

I told the management that the bathroom ceramics needed to be reviewed as they were completely unsafe. I fell on my face and thank God I was not injured or broken, just a slight pain in my shoulder.
