Wonderful accommodation - large room with the most stunning balcony view, big bed, super helpful staff who helped with activity planning and buying tickets, a little walk from town but the local bus is super easy & drops you at the doorstep, and delicious continental breakfast with local products. Would definately recommend!

This was a pleasant B&B. Nicely updated from what must be an older hotel. Fabulous views of the Eigor if you get a room with a view. Don’t book a room in the back. Breakfast was fabulous and staff was great.

I didn’t find the owners very hospitable, they were pleasant enough but not very warm, maybe the Swiss personality. Not once did they introduce themselves or really make you feel welcome. I think the current owners are selling the property after 19 years and are just a little burnt out. I believe one of the current staff members who was delightful maybe taking over the property, if so everything should be great.

Super friendly staff, the kind lady at check-in gave us very clear information to get around in the area, and good recommendations to add on to our itinerary. Nice breakfast offered in the hotel, where the staff again are very helpful and keep refilling the food and drinks in the restaurant. The croissants are nice, and you have different choices of jams/chocolate and for drinks as well. Awesome location, our balcony looks straight at Mount Eiger and that looks just so beautiful in the morning. The bus stop to the train station is just in front of the hotel, in winter since there are fewer buses you just have to check the bus schedule (which is shown in the hotel notice board already), and you can go out slightly before to avoid waiting in the cold. You have the basic facilities that you need in the hotel room, and the room is quite clean. Good value for money considering the great location and amazing view.

The only minor thing (which is also subjective) is that our hotel room is a bit crowded for 3 people. The shower is like an open shower in the bedroom with just a curtain separating you and your travelling companions. The shower space is tight and you have to hang your clothes and towels outside the curtains. I believe it would be fine for a family with small kids but as we are 3 friends travelling together so it was a bit difficult for us.

We loved the quiet nights at the Lauberhorn, it is a little ways up the hill in Grindlewald but it is at the bus stop so easy to get to the train or high speed Eiger tram from there. The remodeled rooms don’t have a view so you have to choose which is more important for you! The owner is also certified to give paraglider rides!! The beds are comfy and we slept with doors open due to no air conditioning, unusually warm Sept 2023. The breakfast is included and very good! Also the Alpenblich (sp) is right down the street and Uncle Karl’s which are both very good!

Paid extra for the view but got an old room, but the view was worth it!

Nestled away from the relentless pace of urban life, the hotel provided a tranquil sanctuary. The courtyard offered vistas that were nothing short of breathtaking, serving as a constant reminder of the natural beauty surrounding us. The rooms, warmed to perfection, offered a cozy retreat from the chill of the outdoors. The accommodation, with its charming chalet style, was a refreshing departure from the typical city hotel aesthetic. This unique touch added an extra layer of enjoyment to our stay. The breakfast experience was exceptional, not only for the culinary delights on offer but also for the relaxed, uncrowded atmosphere. A noteworthy convenience was the presence of a lift, which greatly eased the task of transporting our luggage. All in all, the hotel’s thoughtful amenities and serene location made our stay a truly memorable one.

I was on a bike tour, stayed one night, cycled on over the Grosse Scheidegg to Meiringen (wonderful!). The Hotel Lauberhorn was a great stopover, I slept well, my single room was clean, comfortable, large bed and nice shower and bathroom, also a stunning view of the Eiger from my balcony! I could stow my bike away safely overnight in the cellar. Breakfast was crowded but excellent, the staff helpful and welcoming. Evening meal in the nearby Alpenblick Restaurant was good (also with a nice view, as the name says) - the village center‘s about 15mins away on foot.

For me everything was fine!

Seeking to escape from our hectic days and frustrating city lives, we choose to spend NYE in Switzerland to recharge with some winter sports and breathtaking nature views. The experience of staying at Hotel Lauberhorn however, gave us so much more than that. We simply fell in love with the energy of the place, the decor is so lovely, the beds are comfy, breakfast was so interesting with herbal teas from their gardens and homemade Grindelwald food, but above all the service was exceptional. Benny and Conny, the owners of the establishment are very friendly, and they made us feel so well taken care of. We did a spontaneous holiday, and practically visited every place they so patiently explained to us every morning. We definitely recommend staying here, and we will come back when we visit Grindelwald again. We miss you Benny and Conny, and we miss that lovely sauna room of yours! Thank you for a wonderful stay :)

The location was great (approx 20 mins from station or on the bus route which is free with hotel card). Wonderful view of the mountains from the balcony and also a lovely outside area for guests with seating and beanbags. Great breakfast selection which was constantly being refreshed. The beds were comfortable and the room a decent size. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt the price was fair. We got 20% discount on most actives for staying in the region.

It would have been good to have a fan in the room as it was difficult to keep windows open due to flies.

very quiet, great breakfast, very welcoming team

it was a busy weekend in grindelwald so we got the last room available... it was correctly described at reservation time, but we realized that the glass separation wall between the bath and the sleeping room was quite awkward for a couple... i'd personnally change it for a more traditional wall with a door... next time we'll love having any of the other rooms, we just need to book earlier 🙂

Friendly staff and good rooms. Breakfast selection was decent and good quality. The view from the front couldn't be beat and even the rooms in the back without a mountain view have a mountain view from the balcony. Except it's only one mountain. The bus stop right in front of the hotel is a bonus.

I would have liked a kettle in the room since I normally drink a lot of coffee. More power points would have been handy.
