The room was really spacious with amazing mountain views. The location is very convenient, on Grindelwald's main street, close to the train station and cable cars, with lots of shops and restaurants around. The cleanliness was top notch. Ample counter space in the bathroom for all the toiletries. Breakfast was really good and they go the extra mile to include local cheese and bread. The staff was really friendly, they were very kind and were able to help us with an early check-in.
Even though the rooms are non-smoking, they have ashtrays on the balconies and allow people to smoke there. Since there's no aircon, you'll get the smell in your room if you sleep with the windows open. Adding a mini fridge in the room would be nice.

The room was small but beautifully decorated and enough room for what it's needed for. Breakfast was great with the usual inclusions (cheeses, cold meat, bread, jams, fruit and boiled eggs). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The coin-operated washing machine was also very useful! The location is perfect, right in the middle of Grindelwald with a bus stop right outside. The busses are free for guests, and take you to all the train / cablecar stations.
The floors were timber without any carpet, and we were unlucky enough to be in a room directly below some insomniac guests who seemed to pace their room all night long - for each of the three nights we stayed! Not really the hotel's fault, but I wondered if carpet might have made a difference. Also be aware that every Wednesday night during July there is a night festival in the street, with very loud music right outside the hotel until midnight. This could be a "pro" for some, but by 10pm after a long day up the mountains, we wanted to sleep!

Excellent location, in the middle of the main street and the 10 minutes walk to the train station , breakfast was included which I have not use it since I have early ticket to Jungfraujoch. The front desk Samira was very nice and patient , very helpful , the next morning I leave my luggage in the storage area ,until I got the back late afternoon to pick it up, at that time, I have learned some history of this hotel, the hotel in the family has been for five generations, it start business in year 1888 by the great great grandfather, it had rebuild 1963, and there some old pictures in the restaurant area, even have a copy of receipt from 1930 [$21], and the nice manager I met who is the great great grandson of the hotel founder. What an amazing story, Highly recommended!

The staff were lovely and made us feel at home. The receptionist was happy to help us with some ideas for activities the next day. Our Mt view superior double room with balcony was beautiful and the views amazing. Such a big room by Swiss standards and clean and comfortable. Parking was available for a small daily fee. Breakfast was delicious and they even had fruit to make into juice which I love.
It was a shame the restaurant was closed the two nights we were there (Sunday and Monday) but right next door was Barry’s which was great and a delicious pizza the next night

location very close to most of the attractions you will need to go and have a very nice view. breakfast option and variety is too small.
It would have been better if breakfast have varieties to cater their customers. the tourism has become too complex for the hotel to offer few selection of cheese, bread, and cold salami and ham. a bit of 'egg station' would help to have some scrambled, or omelet or sunny side up choices will bring a lot to fill your customer and appreciate hot food selections.

Our room was amazing, a recent addition. We were told that they created new rooms from where the function room used to be. Comfy bed, excellent large double ended bath, nice big sink and a large shower too. Parking was good in an open car park just opposite the hotel.
It was very hard to find fault, but if I was really picky, I could say it would have been nice if there had been a full-length mirror and the telly was small for such a large room. It would also have been nice if they had left some bottled water in the room. Tiny things that made no difference to our stay and would still stay again.

The reception is professional and nice. I would say that is the best thing about the hotel. You get all the information here on the spot, you can even buy ski tickets and they advise you where to go and what to do. Furthermore, the hotel is in the center of Grindelwald, very well located, and it has its own parking lot on the other side of the street, which is very convenient. The bus station is 20 meters from the hotel and takes you in a few minutes to the terminal from where the gondolas and ski lifts go to the various slopes. There is a grocery store next to the hotel as well as coffee shops and a sports store where you can rent skis and sledges - all within 50 meters.
Although the rooms are large and spacious (wooden construction), the beds are very soft - probably already worn out. We, but also other friends who stayed at the hotel, did not sleep well either, i.e. we often tossed and turned during the night. The breakfast was ok, but there is no kitchen in the sense that you can order something - it is a relatively modest buffet where you can help yourself.

The location is fantastic. Right in the heart of the village with good access to everything. Really helpful staff and great to be able to park opposite the hotel during our visit. The views from the fourth floor were stunning. Great breakfast with a large range, including pastries, cereals, with a good a selection of bread, cheeses, and meats.the room size was sufficient for the four of us ) 2 adults and two children (14 &16)
We wish the room had air conditioning as it was too hot at night for us.

Central location. Close to the train station, supermarkets and shops. Lovely breakfast, friendly staff reception and restaurant decor was traditional.
A lot of rooms were being renovated during my stay. It was dusty and a little noisy. It is a shame as I think that the hotel would have been fantastic if not for the renovations. I stayed for 9 nights, so it really did impact on my stay.

Breakfast vas good, standard hotel fair. Did not leave hungry. Location is excellent. In the heart of Grindelwald without the feel of being downtown.
Staff was exceptional. We were given a buss pass for the duration our stay with free transportation to the areas attractions. Also received 15% discount to other attractions such as the gondola ride to Grindelwald first. The cable car up the mountain was only a few steps away from the hotel. The views outside of the hotel are stunning.location
