The hotel is located in the heart of Grindelwald town; within 50 meters, you will find the train station, bus station, supermarket, restaurants, and tourist information center. The staff's friendliness, room size, and amenities were up to par. Breakfast host was super courteous, who served us lovely coffee, freshly cooked eggs, and a wonderful variety of continental breakfast items, including different cuts of cheese. Even though we didn’t have a balcony in our room, the view of the majestic Swiss Alps through the window was beautiful.

The mattresses have lived up to their age! They were not comfortable at all! The intruding springs and several depressions in the mattress were not at all comfy. This is a must-fix to get the perfect score!

Fantastic hotel, really enjoyed my stay. Located very near the final stop of the train from Interlaken Ost I was delighted it was so close after a long days travel. Beds were incredibly comfy and welcomed after a long days hiking. Rooms are also very well sound insulated. My room had a balcony with a spectacular view of the mountains that was honestly breath taking. Breakfast was nice and tasty.

A little expensive for a solo traveler but the hotel was worth it in the end I feel. Wish I could have stayed longer. Very little wrong with this hotel.

A very comfy and clean room. Located very near the train station. There's a quite steep road to the hotel but it's short and still manageable if you bring one big luggage. Staff is very welcoming and add on dinner menu is also good. Love the vibe of the restaurant. Will surely be back if I visit Grindelwald.

Wonderful breakfast, restaurant, local advice, easy checkin and checkout, close to train station and food. We used the hotel as a basecamp for four days of hiking and adventuring from dawn till dusk. The staff is local and the hotel is family owned and operated, making for a very personal experience. The room was plenty big and had great views of the Eiger and surrounding valley.

The only downside to many of the hotels we were at was the allowance of smoking on patios or decks. I know this is still a "thing" in Europe but it makes your patio or deck very unenjoyable if your neighbors are smoking, which they were. With no air conditioning on hot nights, leaving windows and doors open is a must and smelling smoke from adjacent occupants is not very nice.

The best things about the hotel are: 1. The location - very close to the train station (no problem with noise though), close to shops, restaurants, and other ammenities. 2. The view - amasing view of the mountains. 3. The fact they have free parking for guests. Otherwise, the hotel is a little bit outdated and in need of some refreshment works.

The breakfast didn't have variety, and when you stay for more than one night this becomes boring. I would have also preferred not to have to specifically ask for an egg every day. The bathroom is very small and definetly it needs some refurbishment and a bigger ventilator. Beds also: matresses are old and not comfortable, linen had a funny smell and the pillows offered no support. Overall, I think the hotel is heavily overpriced for what it offers. More than 50% of the price comes from the fact that it is located in Grindelwald.

Staffs were kind and willing to help. Had a decent breakfast with different kinds of cheese, ham, bread, and fruit. Even though it was summer, I felt no need for air conditioner or fan. All I had to do is to open the window or sit in the balcony enjoying the mountain view with snack and soda. Speaking of view, it was spectacular. There's a common place on the second floor where you can see Eiger, play board game, or read books in a comfort couch. And they think about environment and doing some kind of eco-friendly policy.

Since rooms don't have fridge, I wish there was a ice dispenser. And I tried to catch TV news at night, but some of channels were dead.

Excellent property.. cozy, comfortable; felt at home. Great area with plenty board games where my kids enjoyed playing at balcony after dinner. Morning times, enjoying hot drink with amazing mountain view. All the rooms are warm and sound proof. Staff working at restaurant is amazing, they make us an unforgettable stay, during breakfast and dinner. The owner guide us for our 1st trip at Grindelwald, guide us plenty information to move us around. One more thing; at Alpine Hotel, they still providing a Bible and a book with ideas, tips for heart and soul.

I can’t complain… it is a place where I definitely will return without doubt. I will not search for another place in the area.

The staff was extremely welcoming! The views are stunning from the rooms and the restaurant. The restaurant…absolutely amazing! The breakfast buffet was a perfect way to start the day before exploring. We also had 6 different dishes from there for dinner and all of them were fantastic. Such a warm, cozy, Switzerland environment. Parking at the hotel was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again!

Very traditional, family run, small alpine hotel - handy for the station. Comfortable room with good breakfast. Comfy beds but pillows are very soft, though this seems to be a Swiss thing. Incredible Mountain View’s but unfortunately there was a huge crane outside our balcony as the building below was being done up whilst we were there (though that had nothing to do with Hotel Alpina).

No fridge in the room. Would have been nice if the English speaking channels on the room tv worked.

The location of this hotel is excellent, less than 5min walk to the train station and away from the main road. The room was great - spacious, clean and quiet and with a great view. The staff are super welcoming and helpful. The area is magnificent - plenty of hiking and fantastic places to visit, even in the off-season. The gondola to Grindelwald-First is about 5 mins walk away. The trains around the region are timely and super easy to use.

Nothing. But just to note that the hotel is on a hill so might be a challenging walk for some people, but it wasn't an issue for me.
