The room (222) was recently modernised with a good shower room and a small seating area with chairs and a coffee table. Breakfast was very good (we are fans of Bircher Muesli) and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location close to the lakeside and less than 10 minutes walk from the railway station and boat departure points was very convenient. Luzern is an expensive city but this hotel offers good value for money compared to others we considered.

It is very hard to think of anything to criticise here - the sliding door to the bathroom was a bit reluctant to close, but nothing else is worthy of adverse comment!

Great hotel in the center of the alstadt. Bus stop both ways literally across the street and a short walk from the main train station. Rooms were very clean and nice and the breakfast was oustanding.

Fantastic Hotel right in the centre of Luzern. Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of character, and a great courtyard for breakfast.

Mattress wasn’t very comfortable.

This is a great hotel! The staff are all really lovely and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean, the breakfast buffet was well laid out and had a variety of everything you might need, with eggs available to be freshly cooked to your liking. We had booked a table in their restaurant and it was one of the best meals we've had in a long time - perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, good sized portions - all served in a friendly, relaxed and non pretension manner! The restaurant is very popular with the locals which is always a good sign!

Location is great for exploring the town on foot . Close to the big church which rings bells loudly early and late but I wore ear plugs ! The breakfast was excellent . Our room was directly above the restaurant and entrance with no additional doorways in between to stop the noise in the evening . Again with earplugs not too Much of an issue . The decor of our room is interesting with an ancient ceramic oven for heating the old building - looking rather like a baptismal font ! The room was well appointed with everything you need including a small kitchenette area.

This is a lovely hotel with beautiful accommodations. For those visiting Luzern, it is near the waterfront and public transportation options. It is a short walk to many great stores, restaurants, and shops. The hotel is very clean and provides an exceptional breakfast. My partner and I enjoyed breakfast at the hotel everyday before we went off exploring. The hotel staff are very hard working and kind. They were able to help us with all of our questions on navigating the nearby trails and hikes.

The shower pressure is slightly weaker on warm water settings. I can appreciate the environmental conservation efforts however so this wasn't a problem for our stay. The bathroom is extremely clean and has great toiletries available.

The Hotel Hofgarten is centrally located but not directly on the lakeshore. Its location makes it easily walkable to everything yet not subject to the traffic and noise you get just one block closer to the water. The staff is very friendly and courteous too!

There’s not much to dislike about this property. It does lack air conditioning but they provide fans for the rooms. We did not encounter hot weather during our stay so the fans were enough to let us sleep comfortably.

Location: Excellent. Very well connected to most major points. The Bahnhof could be reached by walking in 12-15 minutes and by bus in 5 minutes. Very quiet and quaint hotel. Room: Large spacious room. Breakfast: Limited options but not an issue for us. Overall was good. Reception: The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Hotel Cleanliness: Very clean and well maintained.

Room: The bathroom is a little cramped as there is a bathtub instead of a shower. A shower would have made it more roomy. Our concern was that the large and comfy bed were two twin mattresses joined together instead of a single mattress. Hence the mattress tends to separate in between leaving a gap.

Perfect location in the city center with short walking distance to public transportation. Clean and comfortable facilities. Staff very kind and hospitable. Good breakfast included.

The shower doesn't have a closing-type of door and the water leaks out on the toilet floor. I had to clean the toilet floor after shower. Plus the shower floor itself was too much slipery and my 3 year old fell down in the shower. Who designed this shower surely never used it! It seems nice but not practical at all.

The restaurant below the hotel is incredible. We were blown away with the excellence of the food and the staff was so friendly! Check in was very smooth. We used public parking a few blocks away and it ended up being a little bit more than if we had just used the hotel valet parking service, so next time I would use that. The rooms were large, had a small sitting area with a table, just overall a very comfortable experienc.e We loved a little bakery and a meat shop just a few doors down from the hotel. Loved the location and area!
