The location is superb. It’s a short 6 min walk from the train station and located near Chapel Bridge and many restaurants and shops. Most rooms have a view of Chapel Bridge and the beautiful historic looking buildings along the river. The rooms and baths are modern with clean and functional furnitures. The double is small but it’s a small price to pay for the balcony view. There’s a mini fridge. There’s not a dedicated reception though. The hotel entrance is in the back. You can checkin via the Pub that’s facing the river. Although it’s ontop of the Pub, there’s heavy soundproof doors leading up to the hotel section so we didn’t heat any of the noise from restaurant but if you’re below 2nd floor you may hear the delivery trucks early morning.
No reception in case of issue like TV not working.

Pickwick Hotel provided a clean and very quiet room (despite staying on Friday and Saturday nights) with plenty of space for one, great views and central location in the heart of the Old Town. The proximity to the station (5 min walk) and excellent signage that was visible from a distance, made it so easy to access. The facilities were so convenient with dedicated room for luggage, bar fridge, table and chairs and shelf next to the bed with port for phone charging. The shower was good and the bed fine... only just long enough. There were two great supermarkets at the station and surrounded by places to eat. I didn't eat at the pub downstairs, but it was very popular and homely. Staff were polite and stored my luggage for the day. The free Lucerne card was great and I loved the Museum Pass - well worth it with such a great variety of places to visit. I would recommend Pickwicks and a trip to the beautiful Lucerne and would make the same choice again.
Switzerland is very expensive, especially with the Australian dollar being low, so the room is basic (eg lino floor) compared to what you would get in Australia for the price. However, I was aware of this and it was good value compared to alternatives. I would choose Pickwick Hotel again and it exceeded my expectations.

The location is perfect and our room had a balcony that looked right over Chapel Bridge. The hotel itself is above the pub restaurant, where we enjoyed lunch when we checked in. The room itself was clean and had all the essentials, nothing fancy but it was perfect for me and my wife. The locations really cannot be beaten, in the center of old town. We parked our car at the train station which is just a 10 minute walk away. We stayed for 2 nights in December and the Christmas market was steps away from the hotel. This was my second time visiting Luzern and I would love to come back to this hotel.

We loved the cosy atmosphere downstairs in the pub downstairs and while it was not like a hotel but more like accommodation over a pub we loved how clean the room and bed linen was with comfortable beds and lovely shower. Also a fridge and kettle/ tea/coffee provided There was phone charger connection by bedside not requiring sockets which was so handy. We were provided with fresh towels everyday. The view from balcony was amazing looking out onto Chapel Bridge. We were 5 mins walk from train station and ferry port. Everything was so central . Lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby We loved this little gem in the heart of Lucerne
We didnt get a breakfast and that would have been great if it was inclusive as food is very expensive everywhere.

I knew going in that it was a very long room with the beds being end to end. That was not a problem. What was interesting was the check-in process. It was done at the rear part of the Mr Pickwicks pub. It was interesting while having a cocktail while checking in and having a beer for my friend while watching our luggage. We then checked in, went to our room, and received our instructions as to how to check out, how to depart the room, how to return to it, etc. Very interesting process Fun, but rather unique. We had a fantastic view of the lake/river, the Kapellbrucke, and Mount Pilatus from the room. Overall, it was a great experience. We hung out at the Rathaus Braurerei and downstairs at the pub itself. Again, it was a great experience. No breakfast available, but I knew that going in as well, and so many places around to eat, so not a problem there. It's definitely worth it for the view alone. For the price/view, that can't be beat in the area. Very happy to have stayed here.
Nothing. Again, I knew what to expect going in (except for the fun experience of checking in).

The property is strategically located by the river with a really good view. And just a 7-8 minute walk from the train station. The room was small but space was maximized and we didn’t feel cramped at all. There was even a balcony that we enjoyed looking out from both in the early morning and at night. Everything was great! It was nice that they have an elevator as we had 2 big luggages each as we came for a 3 week vacation between Switzerland and Morocco which have 2 different climate. It was our first time in Switzerland and the lady who received us seemed easily irritated. My friend had a lot of questions and the pub was busy, so I get it. But overall, it was a good experience. I will still recommend this
Nothing really except the easily irritated lady at the reception. But as I said the pub was busy and we had a lot of question being first timers in Luzern. We were supposed to get a discount coupon for Starbucks since they do not serve breakfast but never got it.

The Hotel Mr. Pickwick has a fantastic location, barely 5 minutes from the train station and only a few steps from the Charles Bridge. My room was small but efficiently laid out. There were plenty of shelves and electrical outlets. The provided fan proved to be quite valuable, as there is no room AC and it was hot while I was in Lucerne. The bathroom/shower were small but had everything you need (though some more shelves would be helpful!). Large bottles of shampoo/body wash are environmentally friendly. My room was directly above the hotel's Pub-I sort of enjoyed the background noise when I had the windows open. The Pub was a fun place to have dinner. Everything was within easy walking distance! The staff is friendly and helpful.
Even though the room had an outdoor balcony and potentially a killer view, I wasn't able to figure out how to raise the metal shutters (not sure if they were supposed to be raised!) There is also a sign in the room warning you to either keep the lights off when the windows are open or keep the windows closed and have the lights on. Apparently, mosquitoes are a problem since the windows have no screens (seems like the obvious solution!). Because of this the room seemed a bit dark and warm (I kept the fan on all the time when I was in the room). The TV location was a bit awkward placed directly above the work table. The other thing which is a bummer, is they do not offer breakfast service in the Pub. This meant eating off site each day; kind of a pain.

Location Location Location!! The rooms are very tiny. We knew that when booking but I will say they are very efficient and well appointed for the small space. The shower was awesome and beds comfortable enough for a few nights stay but maybe not much longer. We were aware there was no A/C and it was quite warm a couple of nights even with the provided fans but doable for Sept. You do get some noise and smoke from the pub below but not as much as we anticipated. Earplugs. The balcony view was worth the inconvenience. Simple, efficient with a great location. Great staff and very accommodating.
All shared above.

AMAZING ! 5 min walk to train station /bus station, has Coop supermarket there at station as well , cannot describe the view from my balcony, nothing like I have ever experienced....stunning , central to everything, room service lady was lovely , reception great to deal with. People need to remember this is an old building and it won't have everything you need , if you are this way inclined then bring it with you or stay at home . Location and view 10/10 overrides everything. Go and climb one of the fortress towers , costs nothing and get to see the whole city of Lucerne 🥰
Loved everything thank you

The location and views are fantastic (central to everything, overlooking the river and the famous Chapel Bridge). Everything is an easy walk away; there are plenty of restaurants and stores a stone's throw away. Lucerne is a beautiful town, and this is a great place to use as a base for exploring it. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
There's very little to complain about. It can get a bit noisy in the evenings if you open your windows, since you are in the middle of the touristy area. And the building can get a bit creaky since it's so old, but that's part of the charm, too.
