Location and size of the room. Also outer soundproofing was good as no noise from the street could be heard.

Tiny elevator. Not so good inner soundproofing - children of guests living on the same floor were running and shouting in the corridor in the mornings, which was pretty disturbing. More like lack of culture of the guests than issue of the hotel, but still. Swiss power sockets everywhere, only one EU socket at the working desk - quite uncomfortable.

Hotel is just outside the station and was a blessing in disguise since it was so convenient when we had to travel around. Was very comfortable and had a good experience staying at the property

They do not have a porter to carry the bags up and hence till we did not come back, our bags were kept at the reception. Also the check in time could be revisited as 4pm is too late.

Great location right by the train station. The shops downstairs were open very late and we had everything on our doorstep. The air Conditioned rooms where a must as the temperature was over 33degs when we visited. Nice rooms with a good layout and very clean.

Only problem was that the English tv channels on our tv didn’t work, but that did not effect our enjoyment of this hotel or our trip.

Monopol's Front Desk Staff was just plain awesome. The lady that helped us was very courteous, and friendly and provided us with a ton of information that would maximize our short stay in Lucerne. Thank you. Your staff is the best. I do not have her name but her initials on the receipt were 101/LC. The rooms were also very clean. On top of that, the location is just perfect. We walked to most of the main attractions and used the bus only once.

The part I did not like was not really the hotel's issue. There were a lot of drunk people hanging around the front of the hotel adjacent to Monopol (Waldstatterhof). They were there screaming every night up to 3am and kicking around beer bottles. They were all drunk and high on something. I could not close the windows due to the warm weather so we just had to bear with the noise. Again this is not the hotel's fault but they kept the guests on that side awake.

superb location next to KKL. Perfect for old town visit. perfect when arrive by train. Room spacier than expected . Was concerned possible noisy as next to main drags and bridge but was fine. Breakfast room ni cely positioned with great view

The entrance is confusing with a starbucks - cant see the reception clearly. Had to ask the Starbucks staff.....

The location is perfect--right by the (electric)train and bus stations with underground tunnels underneath with shops. A lovely old hotel. Carpet is a little worn but otherwise fantastic. Our room was huge. This would be on a "return to this hotel" list.

Central location and convenience to train station. Rooms we clean and inviting. Breakfast was good. WiFi works well and is tied to your room. Hotel was quiet enough to sleep but there was a dance bar that ran late until the early morning.

We booked a room with air conditioning. As expected, it was very warm during our stay but the air conditioning was very slow to cool our room down. Also, the front desk recommended restaurants that were insanely priced. We spent over 270 Euros on a bar dinner for 4 at one of their choices. Make sure you price the choices they give you before deciding where to eat.

a great location .right heat to train station and within easy walking distance to beautiful old town.

water pressure is great but so powerful that shower head cannot stay in holder and has to be hand held,making it difficult to wash or wash hair etc.
