We stayed for four nights at the end of our Tanzania holiday in this hotel. It was a perfect base for a relaxed end to the holidays. Pool, pool bar, terrasse with sea view, little restaurant and then some comfortable rooms (with airco and own terrasse). The beach towels were a nice extra. The hotel is close to the turtle sanctuaries and little zoo where you can feed monkeys (a favourite with my kids). The beach is within a few metres and there is a diving centre close by. For everything else one needs to walk a bit. Even though the neighbourhood looks a bit run down and not as developed than the areas with the big hotels, its still save and people are friendly.

Our two rooms were a little too far apart and the downstairs room was rather dark. The breakfast was delicious, but had limited choice.

Tony was a fabulous manager He was so helpful getting us rides from the airport, to Kendwa beach in a tuk tuk and a ride to the cave near Page beach and our next hotel. A good breakfast was included each day. A relaxing pool. It is small, but refreshing. The beach is a very short walk. It is a short walk to the Turtle conservancy area. One of the staff walked us there and made sure we knew the way back. Our room, upstairs, had a great view, was roomy and private. We enjoyed our 2 nights. Thanks. Tony and staff

The instant coffee at breakfast. There should be an upgrade on that.

The staff was excellent! Zainab & Tony amongst the whole team was super nice, professional and just the way you wanted any staff to be. They are simply very nice people. The rooms are like on the pictures, the food was great. Yes, the breakfast could have little more variability after you spend a few days, however it was standard all across Zanzibar. It was always fresh and well prepared. The location was a perfect choice. Central Nungwi compared to Dodoki beach was a noisy, annoying place to go. The Dodoki nearby may be inaccessible during really low tides, but is much more casual, you are not approached every 10 seconds and locals use it as part if they everyday life, which is great to see. The place also countered the realities of blackouts with appropriate equipment. For us it is a perfect stay in Zanzibar. If you wanted to stay completely detached from locals, nature and reality and be served at standards of a Florida resort, probably you should go to an expensive resort, but in such case whats the point of visiting Zanzibar?

Nothing. Really nothing! Maybe some other annoying tourists, but it has nothing to do with the place.

Chika Chika was a very great place to stay for us, it is next to the beach, room was well air-conditioned considering how hot it was. The breakfast everyday served by Haji was excellent, really enjoyed the fruits. Tony and his team are great hosts, I would def recommend.

This is a really nice place perfect for relaxing in Nungwi. The food is good, rooms and facilities are nice and the people there are easy to talk to. We booked a one-day trip from the hotel which was perfect.

The hotel is a bit far away from the "good" beaches and restaurants. This can sometimes be a hassle in the afternoon when there is high tide. Not a major problem but something to be aware of before booking.

Located right by the beach, Chikachika is an excellent value for money option. Rooms are simple yet very comfortable. We really liked the pool. It is very convenient that Café Dodoki with wide selection of tasty meals is located at the property so no need to go far when hungry. The staff was nice, Tony was always ready to help and even surprised us with complimentary fish dinner.

Ground floor rooms are a bit dark.

The serene atmosphere allowed for a peaceful retreat, enabling me to fully unwind and embrace the natural beauty surrounding the property. The staff at Chickachicka Beach B&B were exceptional, consistently demonstrating a high level of professionalism, gentleness, and politeness throughout my stay. Their warm and friendly demeanor made me feel welcomed and well taken care of from the moment I arrived. It was evident that each member of your team genuinely cared about creating a positive experience for guests, and their attentive service did not go unnoticed. In particular, I would like to express my gratitude towards Tony, the owner of Chickachicka Beach B&B. Tony's dedication to ensuring a memorable stay for each guest was truly remarkable. Fantastic accommodation. 50m from the sea without paying the premium for the sea view. The on-site restaurant and bar were both great. The rooms were big and the airconditioner worked well. Your host, Tony, and all other staff members were very friendly and helpful with any activities we wanted to organise. The accommodation has a very relaxed atmosphere without a compromise on quality. Nungwi beach is a very popular tourist destination. The east side of Nungwi is the main beach and is mostly very large resorts and hotels. Balcony house is slightly removed from this, which my partner and I were very grateful for. It does mean that if you're looking to partake in some more touristy activities or to eat at the resort restaurants, you need to be willing to walk a kilometer or two up the beach. My partner and I spent most of our time just walking on the beach and swimming in the sea and so appreciated being away from the tourist rush. That being said, that side of Nungwi is definitely in the process of being developed so may itself be a touristy area in the near future. All considered - if I return to Zanzibar I would 100% stay here again!!

Our room had a slight damp smell when we arrived but after leaving the windows open for a few hours it cleared up. Mosquito nets looked like they might be a bit past their prime but they worked fine and Zanzibar is not a malaria nor mosquito hotspot anyway.

This place is amazing! Tony and the rest of the staff will make you feel at home & help you with anything you might need or want to do. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and comfy and the bathroom was incredibly nice. Good water pressure which is sometimes hard to come by. The wifi was very good & we spent a lot of time in the lounge chairs in the pool. So nice to read a book in the sun while being cooled off by the pool. The breakfast was also great! Fresh fruit, omelettes & little treats every morning! Lunch & dinner was also delicious! Try the avocado salad! Perfect lunch on a hot day!

Nothing. We enjoyed our stay so much!

We loved this place! Nice and cozy rooms, good and clean pool. Few meters away from the beach but still in mostly quiet area, also close to locals which is a plus for us. Tony and other staff were so nice and friendly and took care of everything we wished for. Last but absolutely the best is their food and drinks, totally reccomend their restaurant, even if you are not staying here (also cheap). Would definitely love to return!

A little further away from beaches with less tide changes, but also a relaxing walk to them. Our room had mosquito net with holes in it, but we saw very few mosquitoes overall in Zanzibar so we didnt find it as a problem - if we'd mention it, i'm 100% sure they would replace it.
